This quiet renovated 17th century winemakers cottage is ideally situated in the vineyards at the foot of Sancerre hill, in beautiful countryside just one mile from the river Loire . The Mediaeval town of Sancerre ( 20 minutes walk ) attracts visitors as much for its picturesque streets as its world famous white wine .The nearest village, Ménétréol sous Sancerre (10 minutes walk ) is also charming and very ancient winemakers village alongside the Canal Latéral ,facilities include two bar/restaurants, village baker and post office. Préfontaine is set in its nice tree filled private garden just off the local road. It is especially suitable for smaller groups and families. The house retains all its character and charm with exposed beams, fireplace. It is spectacularly situated amongst the vines, with views are over Sancerre hill and the neighbouring vineyards. The house is available for winter rents and is fitted with full heating.
