As soon as you step out you are in the heart of the city, close to grocery stores, shops, bars, restaurants, bus stops, and by the lake (Tjörnin) - all of it 2-5 minutes walking distance. You'll never need to take a taxi. The University of Iceland is 10-15 minutes by foot, the Arts Academy (main campus) is 15-20 minutes by foot, Reykjavík University is 20-30 minutes by foot, and all three are a short bike ride away.
