The cottage was a `palheiro` originally, a type of warehouse used to shelter livestock, and store agriculture tools. The cottage has undergone a detailed remodelling, maintaining its traditional architectural features, and allowing for comfortable living. A car is recommended as it is uphill in a remote area.
