Once the home of the animals that worked the mill, this converted barn cottage has the air of a luxurious Scottish bothy. The wood-burning stove is the focal point of the living room where a selection of board games and coffee-table books provide some off-grid entertainment (though there is a widescreen TV too). Dining is set for six in the open-plan living area, and a stylish modern kitchen has everything you need for self-catering. Tucked above the kitchen on a mezzanine level, you’ll find a sleeping nook with a king-size bed serving as the second bedroom. Outside, there’s a private, walled garden with outdoor seating and a chiminea for colder evenings. Exploring the grounds of the old mill you might spot wild ducks, owls, heron and otters alongside the resident, friendly sheep.
