Olive Grove Farmhouse - Casa Rural licence no: CR/GR/00254
Olive Grove Farmhouse is an old property set in beautiful inland Andalucia, in the heart of the olive growing region. The house has been well-reformed keeping all the traditional Andalucian characteristics yet offering all modern facilities.
The property is a Casa Rural consisting of 3 dwellings in all - the owners accommodation and the first floor apartment accommodation in the main house, and a self-contained cottage attached to the farmhouse.
The main farmhouse has the owner's apartment on the ground floor. There is a one-bedroom apartment on the first floor of the house with the option of a small 2nd bedroom (including shower-room).
The house also has a little cottage attached (advertised on this site rental no, ES21512059).
The first floor apartment of the main house, which is self-contained, has all necessary equipment for self-catering.
This is a very comfortable and spacious apartment. For the chilly winters there is a log fire in the salon.
Although it gets very hot here in the summer months, the house stays cool because of the thick old walls.
The salon has French windows offering stunning uninterrupted views across valleys, hills and mountains as far as the eye can see. The salon has two sofa/day beds which can be used for extra guests. There is a kitchen/diner, well equipped for all cooking.
The first floor bedroom has been converted from the original barn of the farmhouse. It has loads of character with the original beams and a high vaulted ceiling. The bedroom has an ensuite shower-room.
There is a 2nd bedroom on the first floor, ideal for one person or two small children. This bedroom has its own shower-room.
The apartment is approached through the main entrance of the house by a short flight of stairs.
Outside are a selection of terraces to sit out on including a covered area for summer dining outside. There is a large splash pool which is a wonderfully refreshing for the hot sunny days in the summer. The pool is shared with other guests.
The property overlooks olive groves and walks are immediately accessible.
It is possible to link the apartment with the cottage and have a larger group of people to stay (9 people). All enquiries are very welcome.
There is plenty of parking and road access is good.
Although rural the property is not isolated. Olive Grove Farmhouse is part of a cortijo of 8 houses on the edge of a small village.
The views and walks are spectacular. People stay here for a variety of reasons. guests have come to sketch, walk, bike (two bikes are available to use free of charge) and enjoy the rural environment. Some like to go sightseeing as there are many places of interest in the area, others visit the beach or go to Sierra Nevada for skiing in the winter and walking in the summer. The local town is Alcala La Real - a good size town offering a large variety of shops, services and facilities. It has an old Moorish fortress and other historical sites of interest.
