Villa Nuba,Bonfigli romantic apartment,5minutes to Perugia downtown,fire place,private SPA room,wifi

There are 10 points which make Villa Nuba the ideal home for short or long stays in Perugia, in the beautiful Umbria:

1. Villa Nuba is a historic and typical Umbrian villa surrounded by pine trees, vineyards and olive trees, and it is ideal for short or long stays. The rent for the residences that the villa offers for unforgettable stays is not only cheaper than a hotel accommodation, but also much more chic.

2. The location is unique in Umbria: the villa is in fact situated in Perugia, in the countryside, but just a 15 minutes walk from the historic center of the medieval and Etruscan city, as well as from the illustrious “Università degli Stranieri” (University for Foreigners) and the prestigious Italian language school named “Comitato Linguistico.” Perugia is also at the center of Umbria and Umbria is at the centre of Italy, the ideal location … and the more convenient for those who want to have a foothold to visit not only Perugia and Umbria but all central Italy. And why not? Even a single-day visit to northern and southern Italy is possible.

3. There is no need to have a car: at only about 600 feet of country road there are all kinds of city services: bus stop, supermarkets, shops, pizza restaurants, pastry and coffee shops. You will stay in the typical Umbrian countryside but at the same time you won’t miss what every Italian city offers.
In Perugia Villa Nuba is the closest villa to the historical center you can rent.

4. The owners live in the villa and are always available for any need or to give advice to their guests – but, at the same time, discreet and respectful of their guests’ sacred privacy. Also this is unique in rents throughout central Italy.

5. The three luxury apartments are all romantic, charming, furnished with antiques and provided with all modern comforts, including high-speed wireless, jacuzzi, smart TV, DVD player, dishwasher, washing machines, independent air conditioning and fireplaces in every appartments. Del Bonfigli luxury apartment with a new private SPA room it’s the most romantic place to stay in Perugia.

6. Each apartment has its own private and well equipped patio.

7. The new salt-water pool is equipped with color therapy and it is open every year from April to October.

8. Relax area with gazebos ( cabanas), barbecue area, aromatic garden and parking inside the property and under the olive trees.

9. Safe playground for children.

10. The elegant cottages are ideal for romantic couples as well as for families, groups of friends or extended stay in our charming Perugia. We are happy to be pet friendly.

Amazing Stay
We had a fantastic week at Villa Nuba in the del Bonfigli and were very sad to leave - a week wasn't long enough ! We went to Umbria last year and visited Orvieto, Todi and Spoleto. This holiday we spent 3 days visiting Perugia and 3 days visiting Gubbio, Assisi & Spello and Trevi,Montefalco and Bevagna. All these places are beautiful and only between 20- 40 minutes away from Villa Nuba - so the perfect location ! We also liked being able to walk into town in the evenings and one day took the bus which are extremely frequent. Although August nowhere was busy and there are so many amazing places to see and eat and drink . We loved the apartment - fantastic spa and jacuzzi which we used and the pool area was amazing. What set this rental above others is the friendliness of the owner Giuseppe, who we loved ! He is passionate about Villa Nuba and wants to share that with his guests . We appreciated him taking us in his car to show us Perugia and all the other help he gave us. We can't wait to go back!

Terrific value, great owners
We stayed in del Bonfigli from September 1 to December 31 and couldn't have imagined a better experience. Guiseppe, Elga and even little Lorenzo are great owners and hosts, the apartment is a wonderful and Perugia a great place for days, weeks, or months. Giuseppe goes well out of his way to meet your every need and goes well beyond the expected to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The price is terrific value for money, the pool great spring, summer and autumn and the heating more than adequate in winter. Highly, highly recommended. Umbria is a little off the the beaten track, which makes it perfect for sightseeing, festivals and other activities that are not overrun with other tourists, staffed by overworked workers or filled with rip-off joints. The food is great, the hilltowns spectacular, and everywhere we went, the people were incredibly friendly, accommodating and genuinely welcoming, even in the tiniest villages and the biggest towns. This is an Italy way, way beyond the big three tourists hubs of Venice, Rome and Florence.

Wonderful apt, beautiful surroundings, great host
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Villa Nuba Bonfigli apartment for 13 days in March of 2015. We had a fantastic experience, and we look forward to returning in the future. This is a perfect place to stay to explore by car Perugia’s beautiful and friendly hill towns like Assisi, Gubbio, Spello, Spoletto, Montefalco, and Orvieto. The host: Guiseppe was the perfect host. His English skills are outstanding, and during our stay, he went out of his way to make sure that our stay was perfect. He lives on site with his wife, Elga, and his small son Lorenzo. He grew-up in Perugia, and he knows everything there is to know about the area. He is fiercely proud of being Umbrian, and was very helpful in helping us plan our day trips to the various Umbrian towns. The Bonfigli apartment: Perfect for a couple. Charming, romantic, and well appointed. Very comfortable, peaceful, clean, and well equipped. Excellent high speed WIFI with an access point in the apartment. Complete with refrigerator, dishwasher, cook top, washing machine, Jacuzzi bathtub, and fireplace. Adjoining patio and pool area. The area: The walk to Perugia can be challenging if you are less than physically capable. Perugia is quite hilly, and the walk to town can be difficult, especially in the rain. Taxi and bus options are available. Driving tips: Villa Nuba is somewhat difficult to find as it is on the side of a hill, northeast of the city center of Perugia. IOS maps and Google maps may try to route you through the city center. Be careful to avoid driving in downtown Perugia. Instead, route around the city to the east, and approach Villa Nuba from Eugubina road. The entrance to Villa Nuba is at the intersection of Eugubina and Piero della Francesca. It was helpful to view a satellite photo looking for the pool to find the apartment. Exploring the area: A car is really necessary to visit Umbrian towns. There is safe parking at Villa Nuba. Plan visits to Umbrian towns by locating parking lots outside of the city center. Set GPS to arrive at the parking lots, and walk to the city centers. I look forward to returning to Villa Nuba. I plan to stay in touch with Giuseppe, as I now consider him a friend as well as a gracious host.

Simply wonderful
My husband and I recently stayed at the delightful Villa Nuba Apartments. On arrival our host Guiseppe and his wife Elga and their baby son gave us a very special welcome. Even before we left the UK, Guiseppe was kind enough to email train and bus times from Rome Fumincino airport, he also kindly picked us up from the bus station on our arrival in Perugia. On our way to our apartment Guiseppe was kind enough to show us where the nearest supermarket, bus stops, bakery and the quickest way to walk to the ancient old town from the Villa. We were given suggestions on the best historic hilltop towns to visit, Assisi, Orvieto, and Gubbio are a must, and the beautiful Umbrian countryside is just breath taking. Villa Nuba is situated in a lovely peaceful location, but not too far from the historic centre. If you choose not to walk, there is a bus stop at the end of the road. The apartment was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable, Both my husband and I had the best night's sleep. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated and had all the necessary items to enable us to have breakfast the following morning. As we arrived in the evening Guiseppe and Elga also ensured that we had pasta in the basket and a very nice bottle of red Umbrian wine for our first evening, just in case we were hungry after our flight. There is a beautiful pool at the back of the property which was peaceful and private, a lovely place to relax on one of the many sun loungers. There is also a nice patio & barbecue area for guests for their use. We enjoyed our stay very much at Villa Nuba and Guiseppe and Elga were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly stay here again, should we return to Perugia, and would not hesitate recommending Villa Nuba to our family, friends and other prospective travellers.

Amazing apartment for a family!
This was the second time renting the apartment from Giuseppe, and it was still amazing! The apartment feels just like home and was a relaxing time during our trip. Giuseppe and Elga were gracious hosts, and little Lorenzo was adorable! The apartment is well situated near restaurants and two grocery stores; and we were able to cook two dinners at the apartment during our visit. If you are going to Perugia, this apartment is a must stay! :) We are so looking forward to our next visit and hopefully the playground will be finished so little Keidan and Lorenzo can play together! Ciao, Will, Erica and Keidan

En fantastisk ferie
My husband and I stayed at Villa Nuba for a week. We have traveled in Italy, and enjoy having our own apartment, so we usually check into the B & B. And we have never experienced anything like this. Giuseppe and Elga gave us a very warm and hearty welcome. When we were shown the apartment was on the door a heart with "Welcome" in Italian and English - it warmed. The towels wrapped with a satin bow, a welcome pack consisting of toast, pasta, tomato sauce, wine mmm was ready. In the fridge was fresh milk and water. There was even ice cubes to drink in the freezer!. There was fresh olive oil and balsamic vinegar in sweet falconer. There was coffee, sugar, and salt in sweet cans. Dishwasher tablets and tablets for the washing machine was also taken care of. After the movie drove Guiseppe us around the city, where he showed us where we could find the supermarket and good restaurants. We would strongly recommend Villa Nuba - it is available not better. Although we are looking forward already to come back next year.

Charming hosts and apartment
Guiseppe is a great host. He met us at the train station on our arrival in Perugia and three weeks later delivered us to the station for our journey to Rome. Three weeks of impeccable hospitality in a wonderful part of Italy ensured we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Nuba. From the extensive welcome basket to the tour of Perugia and the wealth of information about buses, trains, shopping and sights Guiseppe made us feel totally at home. Villa Nuba is very well situated to the town centre, bus and railway stations and to supermarkets and pharmacy. Guiseppe and his wife warmly welcomed us and we highly recommend staying at Villa Nuba.

Great place to stay in Perugia
We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Nuba. The apartments were modern and well equipped, and the location, within walking distance of the old city center, was very convenient. Being just outside of the city it was in the country: peaceful and quiet. Plus, we appreciated having a private parking space within the villa grounds. Most of all, the genuine warmth and graciousness of our hosts, the owners of Villa Nuba, made us feel special and very welcome.

Our family spent six days at Villa Nuba over the Christmas Holiday of 2008. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend Villa Nuba to anyone. In the winter, of course, the swimming pool is covered up, but there were many things for us to do, including making snow men on the patio! The accomodations were delightful, ( We stayed in the back apartment.) the fireplace was an added treat, as was the whirlpool bath. We used the bus to get into Perugia and back, and the bus stop is just a two minute walk from the apartment. I took several walks and discovered that the Stranierri building (Etruscan Arch) is perhaps a twelve-fifteen minute walk from Villa Nuba. The Fontana Maggiore would then be, I suspect, just slightly more than that. There are a well stocked supermarket just a five minute walk distant, and another 3 would get you to a very pleasant patisserie. It is important to remember that everything in Perugia is uphill! Giuseppe could not have been a more accomodating host. He was helpful when we asked him but otherwise scarce, the perfect combination. We feel as though we have a friend in Perugia! Ottimo!!!

Living like a local in Perugia
We initially booked a three month stay at Villa Nuba and were looking forward to our first Christmas in Perugia. We were not disappointed and had such a wonderful time that we extended our stay into the new year. Giuseppe and his family could not have extended a warmer welcome or made us feel more at home. They made sure that we had all of the information we needed to make the most of being on holiday in this amazing region of Italy - whilst living as locals - the perfect combination! Our appartment was comfortable and very well equipped and we especially enjoyed the jacuzzi bath and sitting in front of the log fire on winter evenings.

Beautiful place, friendly and comfortable
My friends were the actual renters of the 1-bedroom apartment here - and I was lucky enough to stay with them for two weeks of their 4 month rental. Quite comfortable single bed for me as a visitor, and everything we needed. I was so impressed by the friendliness of Giuseppe and Elga who treated us as part of their family. I saw Giuseppe really go the extra mile for example helping my friend with a difficult parcel delivery that had gone wrong. The location is just stunning with beautiful views.

10 weeks of stay in excellent atmosphere
I had the opportunity to use the smallest apartment for 10 Weeks (Mid of October to Christmas) Resumé: Excellent Accommodation, warm and friendly treatment by the host-family. Clean and appropriate. Only one small device was missing: handheld for the shower hose (according to the owner it will be adopted to the whirl pool soon - and is missing only in the small apartment). Be aware, that apart from the bus-connection (bus stop 300m and 600m,) the approach to the town by walking might be fatigue, due to the elevation difference. So for older or slightly handicapped guests the permanent use of a car is necessary - but this describes the situation in Perugia in general. The close access to a main entrance-exit road to/from Perugia offers an excellent opportunity for any trip by car or bike. The garden and yard - including the pool-area is paramount and comfortable as well as safe for children. The host-family is always reachable and offers all of its possible support. All in all an excellent accommodation for families, couples or - like me - single stay persons.

Our favorite "home away from home"
This was the second time we’ve stayed at Villa Nuba; last year for a month and this time for a little over three weeks in October 2013. Need I say that we love it? There aren’t enough superlatives for describing it. We stayed again in the del Bonfigli apartment, a one-bedroom with Jacuzzi bath. The apartment is beautifully furnished, and completely comfortable. Guiseppe and Elga have made sure that the kitchen is well supplied for light cooking and have added a convection microwave to the appliances. The lovely gift basket they provide guests on arrival provides the first night’s and next mornings meals; and the grocery store a short walk away has everything you could want for preparing meals in your apartment. The bed is divine (I never sleep well in other beds – except this one), and the linens, heavy Italian cotton, a luxury. While it was autumn and a bit rainy on this visit, the patio in the afternoon sun was a cozy warm spot to read a book. And the views from Villa Nuba can’t be beat! Guiseppe and Elga are the most gracious hosts, going out of their way to make guests welcome and ensure that their stay is a good one. They provide tips on restaurants, sights, shopping and many other things. The Villa Nuba Gold Card gives you discounts at restaurants and shops – all of them excellent. When you stay, get the Perugia walking tour guide at the tourist info center in the centro storico. It provides a guided tour of the five different neighborhoods of old Perugia, each of them quite distinct. The guide provides history and background on the churches, towers, steps, palazzos and other sights. We spent a day on each one of the walking tours, and felt thoroughly enriched after each one of them. It will give you a feel for the beautiful city that you won’t get from just enjoying the Corso Vannuci. Travel through Umbria – to me the most beautiful part of Italy. The mountains and walled medieval cities, the soft light, the deep greens of the forests and silvery green of the olive groves playing against the yellow fields – you won’t find this kind of beauty any where else! We traveled by bus and train to many of the towns and small cities of Umbria – Spoleto, Orvieto, Citta di Castello, Spello, Assisi, Gubbio, Todi – making it easy to get there and back. Each of the towns has a distinct character, but all of them are beautiful and we found the people friendly, helpful, warm, and happy to have visitors. The restaurants (some recommended by

A place we can recommend
We stayed in Villa Nuba for two weeks. It was a great place for us adults, and just perfect for the four children. The children called the apartment home the whole stay in Perugia. The kids loved the swimmingpool and they still talk about Guiseppe and Elga and Lorenzo. The apartment was nice. Good space and the beds were good. It was easy to go to the centrum of Perugia. There was a good pizzaria nearby, but mostly we made our own food in the nice kitchen, which had good equipment. We highly recommendt Villa Nuba to other familys!!!! :)

Charming, wonderful villa in Perugia, a home away from home!
Our family spent a wonderful three days at Villa Nuba and it was the best experience every. This was the first time using a vacation rental, and we will never go back to staying in hotels! Giuseppe is an outgoing and warm host! He made us feel right at home at his Villa. He came up with a huge list of places to visit, recommendations on places to eat and even helped us track down some Truffle vendors, simply amazing! We will definitely stay here again!

What a great experience!
We really feel that we lucked out by choosing Villa Nuba. Giuseppe and Elga are amazing hosts.... The welcome basket of food upon arrival is such a simple thing to offer, and very much appreciated after a few hours of travel. Giuseppe spent time taking us around the key parts of Perugia and then helped us with our itinerary for the entire week. It was the perfect plan for us. We loved his passion for his community of Umbria. The apartment- we stayed in a small one as it was only for 2 of us. The apt was beautiful. Spotlessly clean and the kitchen had everything you needed. Having laundry facilities was helpful too. The gardens, pool, barbeque... all overlooking the landscapes of Umbria. They really did a great job renovating the apartments and both take such great pride in their property. After some sightseeing it was fun to come "home" to relax by the pool, have a glass of Umbrian wine and just enjoy the landscapes. We have been to Italy 6 years in a row, this is our first visit to Umbria. We will be back for sure, and I will be staying at Villa Nuba for sure. There is no point looking any further, it will be nice to visit our "home" in Perugia. Thank you for such a wonderful, memorable holiday!

I just arrived home after a 6 week stay at Villa Nuba in the Del Bonfigli apartment. It was fabulous. The space is a delight to the senses; lace curtains, ceramic pulls on the kitchen drawers, a firm comfortable bed, a beautiful custom built fireplace, a well equipped kitchen complete with spices, a garden view with the Umbrian countryside peaking through the trees, a lovely terrace with soft voices of morning songbirds. The owners are wonderful and Giuseppe was unbelievably helpful. Any questions I had about the apartment were quickly answered and a short tour between the bus station and the apartment was full of recommendations for grocery shopping, a local pizzeria, the bus system, and nearby ATM. Giuseppe was generous with his time, providing pick up of my visitors at the train and bus stations and giving me general wisdom and language support in my first few weeks alone in Perugia. I would recommend the Villa Nuba to anyone wanting a short or extended stay in a luxury apartment in the beautiful historic city of Perugia

A home from home and an exceptional host
"My wife and I stayed for two months here in September and October 2022. The apartments are perfectly located for walking into Perugia, and for transport by bus and train all over Umbria and even beyond. We neither wanted nor needed to hire a car at all. The apartments all have separate entrances and terraces, which is so private and convenient for coming and going or relaxing as you please. Our apartment (Del Perugino) had two bedrooms and bathrooms (and all the facilities and equipment you would expect in a home) and we had friends to stay at different times who were also very impressed. Giuseppe could not have been more helpful in every way, always smiling or laughing and ready to help over the slightest thing. He introduced us to a wonderful Italian teacher who came to the apartment to give us private lessons, and was able to recommend shops restaurants and places of interest to visit - of which there is no shortage in Perugia and nearby towns like Assisi, Spello, Spoleto, Siena and Arezzo to name only a few. The apartment contained an astonishingly beautiful and accurate fresco reproduction commissioned by Giuseppe of a detail from one of Perugino's frescoes that can be seen in one of Perugia's museums. We spent much time discovering the history and art in the old city. A particular highlight were the textile museum/workshop, the stained glass museum/workshop, and the Casa Sorbello museum with its unique history of embroidery production, all enterprises founded and run by women at a time when women were barely emancipated at all and (in the case of the first two, still) run by women. The exceptional quality of everything we saw coupled with Giuseppe's faultless assistance mean even two months after returning home we're still dreaming of Perugia!"

Wow!
All the many positive reviews are true! From the very start of the booking process the communication was excellent. I had many email questions which were responded to promptly. We then had to change the date due to a family wedding and again the owner was very considerate and flexible. Bonfigli is very cozy with many finishing touches that you would never see in normal holiday accommodation. We had the pool to ourselves most days and the Umbria view is stunning. Guiseppe helped me arrange a surprise birthday treat for my husband (the wine tour). He was discreetly in the background if we needed help (ordered us a taxi, ordered pizza delivery and telephoned our next accommodation in Assisi to ask for a room with a view). Villa Nuba is a very special place - our memories will last a lifetime! I wish I lived there! Enjoy!

Infinitely beautiful, precious memories
My husband and I stayed in del Bonfigli (Villa Nuba) with our dog from September 1 to December 31. Every day we experienced the beautiful surroundings -- spectacular views from our apartment, el fresco dining, relaxing pool-side, and walks nearby and to the center of Perugia. The location provides easy access by car to hilltowns and historic sites. But the key to all this were the owners and hosts, Giuseppe, Elga and their son Lorenzo. Giuseppe did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and fun, and Elga was so kind and always ready to help. I can't thank them enough for making our stay in Italy so interesting, enjoyable and memorable!

Visit Umbria--a delight waiting to be discovered!
Two weeks in “the green heart of Italy” steps you back in time while enjoying the culture, food, wine and sights of this interesting region. After exploring Perugia as your home base, you can easily take your GPS and drive out on fun day trips to discover beautiful and unique hill towns that surround you. Go north to see the beauty of Gubbio, go east to experience the treasures of Assisi, go southwest to be amazed by lovely Orvieto and its duomo, or head southeast to find the charming and interesting towns of Montefalco, Spoleto, and Norcia. And these are only a start! Each offers a unique and memorable experience. It was great to return to Villa Nuba each evening--a wonderful home-away-from-home. It is charming, well cared for, and peaceful. Owners Giuseppe and Elga are gracious and welcoming, as well as knowledgeable and willing to help as you explore the delights of Umbria. Tuscany’s “sister to the south” is more affordable, less crowded with tourists, and every bit as lovely. Visit Umbria, get close to the real Italy, and make memories (and friends) that will last a lifetime.

It Doesn't Get Better Than This
We recently stayed at the Villa Nuba in the Bonfigli apartment. Everything was done to perfection. The apartment was spotless, charming and very well equipped. There is a lovely salt water pool, that is also very clean, and has plenty of seating options. All of those things would have been enough, but to add to the perfection were the amazing owners of the Villa. Giuseppe, Elga and their family went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. They are warm, hospitable and will do whatever it takes to make things perfect. We travel quite a bit, and have been to Italy many times, and I have to say that the Villa Nuba surpassed our expectations.

Springtime in Umbria
Villa Nuba was the perfect spot to experience the arrival of Spring. We would wake to the sound of birds singing their songs and open our shutters to see the lush green hills of Umbria. Flowers blooming everywhere and all in the comfort of our beautiful villa apartment. We enjoyed our welcoming bottle of wine as we made a fire on our first evening. Giuseppe was the perfect host and welcomed us at the train station and gave us a tour of Perugia and the area surrounding the villa. We hope to return again in the future.

Beautiful People Beautiful Accommodation
We stayed a wonderful week in the lovely Villa Nuba apartments. Guiseppe and Elga were the perfect hosts.(As well as Mr Lorenzo - the perfect baby). From picking us up at the station, the orientation tour of Perugia, not to mention, the supermarket stop to get our supplies and the great welcome basket of goodies they do everything well. We stayed in the apartment del Bonfigli which was well suited to our needs and was lovely and so comfortable and we really felt at home. Guiseppe's attention to detail is what makes the stay so terrific. Even their cat made us feel at home. We really felt that we were living the Italian life while we were there. We couldn't recommend any place higher than Villa Nuba for your stay in Perugia. What it says on the website is just as it is - Perfect

Umbria Perfecto!!
Villa Nuba was the absolutely perfect home base for touring Perugia and the wonderful towns of Umbria. This gated villa with a beautiful swimming pool and totally charming apartments was terrific. Our Host, Guiseppe, did a terrific job. First, he picked us up from the train. Then he spent another 40 minutes orienting us to Perugia. Finally, he did a great job orienting us to the features and appliances in the villa. In the above and beyond category, Guiseppe's father assisted my wife by arranging a dentist to attend to an emergency situation that developed during our stay. Overall, it was a magnificent visit!!

A charming stay you won't regret
My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Italy, and since Villa Nuba was so highly recommended online, we stretched our budget a little to stay there, although really, the place is very good value for money. Affordable luxury apartments just sounded a lot better than our original plan of budget hotels. We never once regretted changing our budget. Villa Nuba really is, as the title implies, charming. Perugia itself is a quaint university town with lots of amenities and service people who are used to foreign students and tourists. Villa Nuba was conveniently located near the historical centre of the town (walking distance, but even easier by bus or cab/car). The apartments are recently renovated and the place itself is so quiet that we had the most restful holiday sleep there in recent memory. A little dust in the bedroom set off our allergies, but the rest of the place was clean and modern yet quaint, with a well-stocked kitchen and a nice little jacuzzi in the bathroom as well. The best thing, though, is that Villa Nuba is a family affair. Our guide and apartment manager Guiseppe owns the place, converting what was once his family's place into a few tastefully rennovated apartments for tourists. He and his parents live on site, so they're always there to answer questions and help with mundane things like ordering a pizza from the local pizza joint (Pizza Magic is the best). His wife also teaches pilates classes at Villa Nuba. Guiseppe was the friendliest guy, always available on his cell phone to help with a query, to suggest day trips, or to fetch us to and from the train station (he also does guided day trips for an extra charge). We ended up exploring the nearby towns on our own (the tour prices are a little steep although I'm sure the tours are excellent), and he was really helpful with logistics. We even woke him up one Sunday morning to help us book a rental car, the poor guy. The personal touch made a big difference, with yummy restaurant recommendations as well as a 10% discount that Guiseppe negotiates for his guests ahead of time. The service was the best part of Villa Nuba, and the whole family was very welcoming and genuine, including their two cats. We would make breakfast for ourselves to have at a table outside the apartment, and the cats were so friendly and adorable, we ended up buying a box of Friskies just to be able to feed them snacks. Between Guissepe, his family and the cats, it was hard not to be charmed. :)

Perfect home from home
My wife and I stayed at Villa Nuba for a month in September. Giuseppe was a wonderful host, very attentive, always on hand if needed for advice and recommendations. The facilities are excellent, we couldn't fault it. The location is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Two supermarkets are five minutes walk away. We did not hire a car for the entire month. The centre of Perugia is a fifteen minute walk. At the bottom of the road you can catch a bus to the railway station or main bus station from where the whole of Umbria is available to you. Much more relaxing than driving in Italy! We will certainly be returning. Ciao.

Perfect Family Getaway
"We visited Villa Nuba for a 2 week family celebration for my 50th birthday. Having stayed at Villa Nuba twice before we knew it would be a perfect place for all the family. We were not disappointed and seeing Giuseppe again added to the enjoyment of our holiday. We rented all 3 of the units so we had the whole place to ourselves. The apartments are spacious and comfortable and furnishings very traditional. The pool area was for us the highlight, it really is a lovely area. The location is great too, close to supermarket and two lovely bakeries for morning pastries and coffee. We walked to Perugia every evening where you will be spoiled for choice for places to eat. It’s a beautiful town to visit. We took the bus to Assisi and Florence and had 2 fantastic days out. Giuseppe was also kind enough to sort out football tickets to the Perugia game where we met him and his son Lorenzo for a very entertaining evening. Villa Nuba is a great place to relax but there is also lots to see and great days out nearby."

As beautiful as the photo's show it to be.
I stayed in the Bonfigli self catering apartment at the Charming Villa Nuba and it was as beautiful as the photo’s on the website. Giuseppe and Elga were fantastic hosts, welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Perugia town is about a 20 minute uphill walk away and Giuseppe will give you a tour of the town to get your bearings, help you go shopping for food if you need it and collect you from the airport if you don’t have a car. In fact, this was one of the additional plus points, you don’t need a car to get around, everything is a lovely walk away and public transport is affordable and reliable. Giuseppe will give you maps and lots of tips on what to see as well. He even managed to hunt down recommendations for vegetarian restaurants for me and I can happily recommend L’Erba Voglio and a La Taverna (vegetarian friendly and amazing) Not only is Perugia a great stepping off point to explore Umbria but Perugia itself is worth a visit, stunningly perched atop a hill and looking out towards Assisi.

Very nice peaceful place with nice views of the countryside. Great owners/host as they are on property and take great ride in their place and the comfort of their guests. Great pride in their region, which is well deserved. Very comfortable here for the two of us for the two weeks we stayed. Greatly enjoyed it and will return.

Fantastic Holiday Accommodation
Our first time in this part of Italy and we were amazed at its charm and beauty. The Villa Nuba is on the outskirts of Perugia which is the regional centre. We arrived early to a warm and friendly welcome from our host, Giuseppe. While our apartment was being prepared he gave us a brief tour of the town where he showed us the main features, good restaurants, where we could park and where there were traffic restrictions. We instantly fell in love with the town. It has layer upon layer of ancient buildings, steep roads and fine architecture. Visit the main art gallery - it contains fabulous examples of early religious paintings from Umbria. On our return we were shown our delightful apartment. Very clean, spacious with lots of features (and really useful Wi-Fi). The large bathroom had a large jacuzzi and the bedroom had a ceiling painted with a star scene that gently revealed itself when the lights when out. The outside area had lots of seating and the pool was wonderful. It was quiet, restful - a great escape from our normal lives. Our stay was all too short but we visited Assisi and Spello as well as Perugia. Giuseppe provided us with details of excellent local restaurants and they all gave great food and service. Perugia is a lovely place, the Villa Nuba a great set of apartments but the best thing about our stay was the warmth and hospitality of our hosts Giuseppe and Elga. We hope to return soon!

Best Place to Stay in the Best Place in Italy
My wife and I stayed at Villa Nuba in October 2013 for almost a month. This was a second time to stay at Villa Nuba (we stayed in June 2012). Villa Nuba is an excellent choice for many reasons. First, Giuseppe and Elga, who own the apartments and live in the same complex, are wonderful. They are extremely helpful and very friendly. They helped to make our stay an enjoyable experience, especially with our limited (and in my case very limited) ability to speak Italian. Second, the apartment (we stayed in the smallest of the apartments on both of our trips) was clean and comfortable. It has a well-equipped kitchen (with a dishwasher), a Jacuzzi tub, and a washing machine in the apartment (we hung our clothes on the patio to dry on sunny days and used the dryer in the utility room located just across the patio). Third, the swimming pool and seating areas in the patios provide relaxing (and quiet) places to read and be in the sun, and to look at the gorgeous view from the apartments. Fourth, the surroundings are beautiful. The property overlooks hills and olive groves and features wonderful sunsets behind the rolling hills. The property is well away from the main road, so there is very little noise. Fifth, within a five minute walk from the apartment is a very good grocery store, a pharmacy, a tobacco store (where you buy tickets for the local buses), two excellent pizzerias, our favorite café, and a bank with an ATM. We could easily reach the historic center of Perugia either by walking up the hill (about a 20 minute walk, though it usually took longer as we stopped along the way to take photos or stop at our favorite café) or by catching a bus 5 minutes away from the apartment. You can catch the local buses to the historic city center, to the main bus terminal (for trips within Umbria) or to the train station. Umbria is the best place to experience Italy. I have been to Rome, Venice, Florence, Milan, Lake Como and several places in between in Italy, and Umbria is by far the best. It offers a rich history, beautiful hills and forests, and the best food anywhere. Perugia is the place to be located, given its access to public transportation for trips to the hill towns in Umbria and to other places in Italy. Many people think that Tuscany is the place to be, but in our experience, Umbria offers much more. Perugia is a wonderful city with several self-guided walking tours of neighborhoods that are interesting and beautiful. It has wonderful

Vill Nuba Perugia Italy-Fantastic!
All of the information supplied by the owners was accurate. Villa Nuba is a renovated 600 year old Villa with rental apartments. We had a 1 bedroom, spacious apartment which had a spa in the bathroom and toilet/bidet. The kitchen is well appointed with modern appliances and it has a living/dining room. The apartment was immaculate. There is a private courtyard that has morning sun and the front of the property has spectacular views into the countryside. The owner picked us up at the train station, showed us how to get around Perugia, stopped at the local Supermercato to allow provisioning and showed us how to get to places of interest. The owner has negotiated with local businesses to develop a "Villa Nuba Gold Card" which provided discounts as well as identifying best value authentic cusine. We tried all the recommended eating places and the food and prices were fantastic. I would unreservedly recommend Villa Nuba to anyone visiting Perugia. We have already planning our next LONGER visit!

Perfect Apartment, Perfect Location, Great Owners
My wife and I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Villa Nuba in Perugia (September 15-30, 2012). The Apartment and Grounds: Del Bonfigli was the perfect size for a couple and was very well appointed with everything we needed for a two week stay. We enjoyed cooking many of our own Italian meals in the kitchen and also used the outdoor grill when we craved some good steaks. Each morning we would enjoy our breakfast out on the beautiful patio area and many nights we would finish there with a glass of wine. The grounds at Villa Nuba are also very nice. The pool area is well maintained and in a beautiful setting. The salt water was a bit cool given it was late September but very refreshing. I was in the pool nearly every day, and then would dry off under the warm Umbrian sun. We would essentially tour an Umbrian city one day and then rest, relax and hang out at the pool the next making for a great combination. Because of the secluded nature of Villa Nuba, you very much feel you are out in the countryside but are only a 5 minute walk to a couple of grocery stores and cafes. Only a twenty minute walk to central Perugia. Perugia/Umbria: This was our third visit to Italy and our best so far. Perugia is a wonderful historic and medieval town that is very active at night, great for exploring history or just hanging out at one of the outside eateries at night. We highly recommend you go have a drink at Vista Point, an open air bar, which is near Piazza Italia. On a clear night you have this amazing view and can clearly see towns like Assisi off in the distant hillsides. Truly special. It’s a view and place where you have one of those “I can’t believe I’m really here” experiences. Perugia is also a large town and central to many of the historical Umbrian cities that you will want to visit. A few that we visited include Gubbio, Orvieto, Assisi, Montefalco (my favorite and the best wines) and Bevagna. We also took a day and visited the Marmore waterfalls in Southern Umbria which provided a nice break and something different from all the medieval towns. The Owners: All the comments you read on Giuseppe and Elga are true. Such a nice couple and so very helpful. We consider ourselves to be pretty self sufficient travelers and enjoy exploring on our own but anytime at all we needed advice or help they were right there. Giuseppe and Elga are not absentee owners; they live on the property!

Charming apts near medieval Perugia
We had a most enjoyable week at Villa Nuba. The Nuzzacis were welcoming and helpful (just make sure they show you the switches for the electricity and hot water, or you could inadvertently turn them off) The apts are nicely furnished, very clean and well maintained; each has a washing machine, & the wifi worked very well. Supermarket and an excellent bakery are within easy walking distance. The medieval center of Perugia is uphill: walkable if you're fit. Villa Nuba is a very good base for driving around Umbria and southern Tuscany. Evenings we called a taxi (which always came promptly) to go into Perugia for dinner.

In November 2005 my wife and I had the great pleasure of visiting Perugia and staying at the lovely Villa Nuba for the entire month. It was a fantastic experience. The accomodations were everything we could have hoped for. The beautiful apartment was comfortable and well furnished with everything we needed for an extended visit. We choose not to rent a car for our visit and soon found walking to the Centro (city center) or taking the convenient buses greatly enhanced our experience. We can not say enough good things about the hospitality of our hosts. In particular Guiseppi who was always available to answer questions, provide helpful insight, and assist us when local customs and language overwhelmed us. We especially appreciated his services as driver and tranlator for a successful excursion to find distant relatives in a remote village in the hills. Our wonderful experience of Perugia and the surrounding area was due in large part to our most enjoyable stay at Villa Nuba. We thank Guiseppi, his family and staff for making our vacation so special. Without hesitation we would recommend Villa Nuba to anyone visiting this lovely Umbrian city.

Rilassante soggiorno a Villa Nuba
