Villa Nuba,Perugino charming villa-apartment,just 5minutes to medieval center Perugia, wifi, eco pool

Ten goals of Villa Nuba charming villa-apartments rental in Perugia

There are 10 points which make Villa Nuba the ideal home for short or long stays in Perugia, in the beautiful Umbria:

1. Villa Nuba is a historic and typical Umbrian villa surrounded by pine trees, vineyards and olive trees, and it is ideal for short or long stays. The rent for the residences that the villa offers for unforgettable stays is not only cheaper than a hotel accommodation, but also much more chic.

2. The location is unique in Umbria: the villa is in fact situated in Perugia, in the countryside, but just a 15 minutes walk from the historic center of the medieval and Etruscan city, as well as from the illustrious “Università degli Stranieri” (University for Foreigners) and the prestigious Italian language school named “Comitato Linguistico.” Perugia is also at the center of Umbria and Umbria is at the centre of Italy, the ideal location … and the more convenient for those who want to have a foothold to visit not only Perugia and Umbria but all central Italy. And why not? Even a single-day visit to northern and southern Italy is possible.

3. There is no need to have a car: at only about 600 feet of country road there are all kinds of city services: bus stop, supermarkets, shops, pizza restaurants, pastry and coffee shops. You will stay in the typical Umbrian countryside but at the same time you won’t miss what every Italian city offers.
In Perugia Villa Nuba is the closest villa to the historical center you can rent.

4. The owners live in the villa and are always available for any need or to give advice to their guests – but, at the same time, discreet and respectful of their guests’ sacred privacy. Also this is unique in rents throughout central Italy.

5. The three luxury apartments are all romantic, charming, furnished with antiques and provided with all modern comforts, including high-speed wireless, jacuzzi, smart TV, DVD player, dishwasher, washing machines, independent air conditioning and fireplaces in every appartments. Perugino charming villa it's the most typical and charming place to stay for families in Perugia and del Bonfigli luxury apartment with a new private SPA room it’s the most romantic place to stay in Perugia.

6. Each apartment has its own private and well equipped patio.

7. The new salt-water pool is equipped with color therapy and it is open every year from April to October.

8. Relax area with gazebos ( cabanas), barbecue area, aromatic garden and parking inside the property and under the olive trees.

9. Safe playground for children.

10. The elegant villa-apartments are ideal for romantic couples as well as for families, groups of friends or extended stay in our charming Perugia. We are happy to be pet friendly.

Aussie with kids
My husband and I loved Villa Nuba. We were travelling with our 3 small children, ages 8, 5 and 3 and the pool was a big hit to keep everyone happy. Guiseppe was a wonderful host with lots of local information on Umbria and places to visit as well as the tour of Perugia to point out best supermarkets, pizza places etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the food, wine and all Perugia has to offer. We can only highly recommend Villa Nuba and hope to return. Thanks Guiseppe for making our holiday so memorable and fun with kids!

A home Away from Home in Umbria
We stayed in Villa Nuba for 3 weeks. Lovely location and great amenities in our charming apartment. The owners help us for all our needs. What is more the location is fantastic: countryside and walking distance to the Medieval Perugia city center. I and my family will absolutely recommend Villa Nuba to everyone would like to stay in Umbria.

Guestbook Comment
My wife and I stayed at the Perugino apartment at the Villa Nuba for 10 days in April 2007. We were met by Giuseppe, the owner, and from this moment we knew that we were in for a very special holiday. He is a most delightful host who genuinely cares that his guests have a good holiday. His local knowledge saved us a considerable amount of time in searching out where to go and what to see. Nothing was any trouble and the short drive round the immediate area on arrival was certainly unique in our experience! The apartment was found to be beautifully appointed and well furnished. The “personal touches” were evident with fresh flowers from the garden, a small library of books in English and a welcome basket of food and drink. During our stay, we met members of the family as they went about their daily lives and this helped us to feel part of the Italian culture and way of life. We have travelled extensively in Italy and this is by far the friendliest part of the country, and one of the most beautiful. Would we go back? Certainly YES!

Comment Text: Dear Guiseppe, Thank you so much for your hospitality and making our stay at Villa Nuba so perfect. You have captured the ideal vacation experience. Not only is the Villa set in the most beautiful region in Italy, it has every modern convenience, is absolutely spotlessly brand new in it's restoration and yet retains the charm of centuries old architecture. Best of all is the host and Director. I will always remember your genuine helpfulness and kindness and hope to see you again soon. Don’t forget to call if you visit London. Thanks also to your mother whose elegance was evident in the feminine and practical additions to the apartment and to your wonderful father, Signore Nuzacci. Auguri Sinceri Maureen PS.Who will win the game tonight ?

"ACCOGLIENTE & ROMANTICA "

Very comfortable and beautiful place.
Very comfortable and beautiful place. Giuseppe Nuzzaci is a wonderful host and is extremely helpful, kind and patient. The apartments are clean, the views are excellent. Can easily walk to the center of town or catch a bus just down the street. Swimming pool is wonderful, cool and clean. Giuseppe and his wife, Elga, are beautiful, friendly people. This was our third stay at Villa Nuba since 2012. Each stay has been great. Highly recommend it. Note: This is not a hotel. It has fully appointed apartments, and is more like a luxury resort. Giuseppe is a great guide for those new to Umbria. He took our adult daughter and son-in-law on a never to be forgotten wine tour.

Home away from home
Villa Nuba in Perugia is a combination of immersing yourself into the Italian culture in a gorgeous Italian Apartment which is part of a Villa which has been renovated with all the comforts of home. It is run by a Family who put their guests needs before anything. They are there 24 Hous a day to make sure that you have everything you need and want at your fingertips. We have had the honor of being their guests for 3 months in 2009 and also 2015. We will return again in 2017. I was so impressed with the hospitality, I wrote a book for our Family that included all our experiences while staying there. I can sum it all up by saying we now have a Perugian Family!! Thank you for an experience of a lifetime.. Much love Ken and Joanna

Nice apartment, great location and best host!
Our vacation in Villa Nuba was great! A nice fully equiped apartement in a nice Italien style. Good beds and nice bathroom. The swimming pool was beautiful. For a late night swim you can put on the lights at the pool (different colours available!!). Perugia is nearby and you can walk to the city centre. We had a nice welkom with a short tour trough Perugia. He recommended nice restaurants (and wine :-)) for reasonable prices. iFurthermore our host helped us with exploring Umbrië. It was a great week and we would recommend Villa Nuba to anyone!

Villa Nuba is the best of the best!
After a hichhike contest from the Netherlands we realy enjoyed the luxury and relaxing atmosphere of the Villa Nuba. The location is simply great: at the villa you look over the beautifull umbrian landscape and within a 10 minutes walk you are in the city centre of Perugia! The villa is beautifull, clean, spacious, nicely decorated and includes all the household effects you need. But most of the time we were sitting in the lovely garden, swimming in the nice pool or enjoying the best Chianini beef from the big barbecue. But most of all we loved the more than friendly hosts. Giuseppe and his family did everything to make our stay as pleasent as possible: he showed us the neighbourhood, advised us where to go, brought us to the station to rent a car and gave us his self created 'gold card' with good deals at plenty local restaurants. Villa Nuba was the best of the best and I hope and think I'll come back there!

Lucky Find
Villa Nuba was a lucky find. We really enjoyed our 8 nights stay here. The apartment (Perugino) was beautifully presented, comfortable and well equipped with magnificent views across Perugia. Our boys enjoyed the pool and playing with Pato the cat. Giuseppie was a wonderful host and nothing was too much trouble for him. Thankyou Giuseppie for making our stay so special and sharing your friendship with us.

A lovely holiday
My husband and I stayed at Villa Nuba for a week. We have traveled in Italy, and enjoy having our own apartment, so we usually check into the B & B. And we have never experienced anything like this. Giuseppe and Elga gave us a very warm and hearty welcome. When we were shown the apartment was on the door a heart with "Welcome" in Italian and English - it warmed. The towels wrapped with a satin bow, a welcome pack consisting of toast, pasta, tomato sauce, wine mmm was ready. In the fridge was fresh milk and water. There was even ice cubes to drink in the freezer!. There was fresh olive oil and balsamic vinegar in sweet falconer. There was coffee, sugar, and salt in sweet cans. Dishwasher tablets and tablets for the washing machine was also taken care of. After the movie drove Guiseppe us around the city, where he showed us where we could find the supermarket and good restaurants. We would strongly recommend Villa Nuba - it is available not better. Although we are looking forward already to come back next year.

A place to recommend
We stayed in Villa Nuba for two weeks. It was a great place for us adults, and just perfect for the four children. The children called the apartment home the whole stay in Perugia. The kids loved the swimmingpool and they still talk about Guiseppe and Elga and Lorenzo. The apartment was nice. Good space and the beds were good. It was easy to go to the centrum of Perugia. There was a good pizzaria nearby, but mostly we made our own food in the nice kitchen, which had good equipment. We highly recommendt Villa Nuba to other familys!!!! :)

"Ciao to The Friendliest & Most Charming Host"
Villa Nuba in Perugia was one of several destinations during our travels in Italy, but the only villa we rented. Hands down (without close comparison), Giuseppe was the friendliest and most charming host we had the privilege of meeting! With warm hospitality, he put himself at our disposal. Nuba is as charming as it has been described - nestled on the mountain side surrounded by willowy olive trees in a quiet neighborhood. Our accommodations in del Perugino were very clean, comfortable and conveniently located for our daily trips into the old city of Perugia. Giuseppe offered many recommendations for sights and dining. Not a one was off the mark! We explored the region of Umbria and experienced the treasures of its medieval history and beautiful countryside! We fell in love with Orvieto! The views of the mountains and the river along the rural route were simply gorgeous and the city is beyond all expectations! Italy is a very beautiful country with an endless bounty of rich heritage. Nothing supersedes the true “sense of welcome" when you visit someone's home (country). Giuseppe did more than help us feel genuinely welcomed when we arrived.....As we said our good-byes, Giuseppe made us feel we had made a friend for life! I migliori auguri alla famiglia Nuzzaci!

wonderful setting and great pool!
When we arrived we were tired and hot. thankfully we were given food for the next days breakfast and a bottle of wine. the hosts especially Elga, are very kind and helpful. Since there are not many apartments we had the pool to ourselves which was quite a luxury. we made a lot of meals ourselves-the kitchen had everything and we ate outside with a gorgeous view. Only downside was expensive. Was generally clean but a little dusty in the kitchen. Overall very tranquil place and if you are up for some walking you don't need a car. Umbria is not so touristy and felt like we were in the real italy.

A beautiful getaway just outside Perugia
We stayed in the Del Bonfigli (sleeps 2) apartment at Villa Nuba in april 2011. Giuseppe, the owner, was incredibly helpful the whole time. He gave me a good deal on my last minute booking, and then showed us around town when we got there. He was available any time we needed anything. The apartment itself is great. It has everything you need to enjoy your stay in Perugia -- a nice kitchen for cooking, wine glasses, corkscrew -- and Giuseppe starts you off with a bottle of wine, breakfast supplies and the makings of a spaghetti dinner. The bathroom is large and bright and the jacuzzi tub is great. The location was perfect as well. You're a few minutes walk down the hill from the center of Perugia, so it feels like you're in the countryside, with the view to match. But in a few minutes (particularly if you have a car to get you up the first big hill) you can be right in the main piazza of the medieval city. The only thing I'd do differently next time is stay longer!

10 weeks of stay in excellent atmosphere
I had the opportunity to use the smallest apartment for 10 Weeks (Mid of October to Christmas) Resumé: Excellent Accommodation, warm and friendly treatment by the host-family. Clean and appropriate. Only one small device was missing: handheld for the shower hose (according to the owner it will be adopted to the whirl pool soon - and is missing only in the small apartment). Be aware, that apart from the bus-connection (bus stops at 300m and 600m,) the approach to the town by walking might be fatigue, due to the elevation difference. So for older or slightly handicapped guests the permanent use of a car is necessary - but this describes the situation in Perugia in general. The close access to a main entrance-exit road to/from Perugia offers an excellent opportunity for any trip by car or bike. The garden and yard with the pool-area is paramount and comfortable as well as safe for children. The host-family is always reachable and offers all of its possible support. All in all an excellent accommodation for families, couples or - like me - single stay persons.

Couldn't be happier with our stay
Our family vacation in Italy got off to a perfect start at Villa Nuba in Perugia. Host Giuseppe Nuzzaci was the best possible guide to all things Umbrian. He has located the best restaurants in the area (not just in Perugia itself) and arranged discounts for his guests. Also the friendliest person we met on our trip, Giuseppe will do just about anything to help make your stay delightful. We were never disappointed by his recommendations. Villa Nuba is a 15-minute walk from the closest gate through Perugia’s medieval walls; and another 5-10 minutes on foot gets you to the central square. We tried the bus, but walking or an occasional taxi worked best. The “Pinturicchio” apartment was ideal for our family of four: two bedrooms (one with queen bed, one with twin beds for the kids), spacious living room, modern bathroom and kitchen, and even a balcony overlooking the valley below the city. The pool was so refreshing after a hot summer day of walking cobble-stone streets. We would return without hesitation!

Perfect!
Giuseppe’s Villa Nuba is one of those places that you would definitely call ‘a home away from home’. The villa itself is cosy, welcoming and has everything you need. There has been a thoughtful and tasteful effort put into the presentation of the quirky, cosy place, which immediately calls for your attention and creates a warm atmosphere. Giuseppe and his family are gorgeous, generous and accommodating people who you instantly like and feel at ease with. My family were here two years back, and now they have introduced me to this wonderful little paradise and I’m hoping to take my boyfriend here next year. Giuseppe, himself, is an awesome and very funny guy. He has a great sense of humour and tells brilliantly stories. He definitely knows how to have a good time and puts in a great effort to get to know us and treat us like part of the family. He was kind enough to take us out for breakfast and took us coat shopping (Giuseppe’s taste in clothes is exceptional- you can trust him to choose something WOW!). Giuseppe can speak fantastic English which made it easy for myself to communicate with him. It was also wonderful to have someone local provide tips on shopping, food, history and anything you’re interested in knowing about. He provides you with ‘gold cards’ that give you small discounts on shopping and food restaurants that you can rely on providing brilliant quality clothes and wonderful prepared meals. Giuseppe basically wants the best for you, and goes out of his way to make sure your stay is as wonderful and exciting as it should be. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know Giuseppe and his lovely wife Elga and their gorgeous son Lorenzo. I definitely hope to be back soon! Grazie mille! - Your teacher Francesca ;)

Memorable stay in Perugia!
Villa Nuba is a lovely, quiet, and comfortable place to stay while visiting Perugia & Umbria! We stayed in the Villa del PERUGINO and had an amazing week. We explored many awesome hill towns like Assisi, Spello, Montefalco, and Orvieto, and all were reachable by car in less than 90 min. You can explore Umbria by day and have this wonderful, peaceful villa, to come back to and relax at afterwards. There is also a great pool & built in bbq to enjoy. We especially enjoyed our patio in the evenings. When we first arrived, we were met by our host Giuseppe, who IS as wonderful as all the reviews say he is. I felt like I had just met family I didn’t know I had. Giuseppe offered to take us on a quick tour around Perugia. He showed us where to find the grocery store, bakery, fantastic pizza place, city center, bus stop etc. When you arrive, any questions you may think you have are already addressed and answered before you can even ask. There was even a welcome basket with many staples waiting for us, which we greatly appreciated. Giuseppe & his beautiful wife Elga have thought of every detail when furnishing the villas to make you feel like you are at home. Every room is spacious and nicely decorated in Umbrian style. It was very hard to leave...While I was there, I got very attached to “Pato” the friendly family cat. I looked forward to his daily visits, as he helped me not to miss my own cat at home. I highly recommend Villa Nuba, you will not be disappointed!

Excellent place to relax and to explore Perugia an
My sister and I have travelled in Italy during 10 years. We tend to be quite critical when choosing the accommodation – that is a part of the fun. This year we chose Villa Nuba (apartment del Perugino) after going through about 100 apartments in the internet. And that really was worth it! We found a cozy and spotless clean apartment with a spacious living-room, nicely equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and two very nice bedrooms, with excellent mattresses and stars painted on the ceiling. We even found a basket filled with products for the first breakfast and meal, including wine. We enjoyed the fireplace and the candles, ate self-made dinners both in the living room as well as in our private patio, swam in the pool, enjoyed the fantastic view from the pool - and just relaxed. Giuseppe was an excellent host! During the first evening he provided us a tour around the city of Perugia showing us all the important places to visit. After the tour he marked the main spots of the city and surrounding Umbria in our map. We had rented a car and with Giuseppe’s hints it was very easy to find the best towns, villages, restaurants etc. during our 1 week stay. The location of Villa Nuba is great: short distance to walk to the city of Perugia and to drive to other cities. However, the car is not a necessity while bus stops are very near and it is even possible to walk to the railway station. We saw and experienced a lot. A lot is still to be seen. We have now been at home for 2 weeks and have already made a reservation for next August.

Charming apartments near medieval Perugia
We had a most enjoyable week at Villa Nuba. The Nuzzacis were welcoming and helpful (just make sure they show you the switches for the electricity and hot water, or you could inadvertently turn them off) The apts are nicely furnished, very clean and well maintained; each has a washing machine, & the wifi worked very well. Supermarket and an excellent bakery are within easy walking distance. The medieval center of Perugia is uphill: walkable if you're fit. Villa Nuba is a very good base for driving around Umbria and southern Tuscany. Evenings we called a taxi (which always came promptly) to go into Perugia for dinner.

Apartment in Perugia
Great apartments (3) - one with one bedroom and two with two bedrooms. Located outside the city of Perugia. We stayed for a week in November of 2010. Our host Guiseppe and his family live on the premises. We had a minor problem one day and they were there to take care of it very quickly. At the same time they are available they are not intrusive. Guiseppe was a wonderful host who had a wealth of information about the area and discounts at area retailers and restaurants. The one bedroom apartment was very nice with a kitchen, jacuzzi bath and a working fireplace. The area is quiet and also has a swimming pool which was closed when we were there. All cost (heat in winter A/C in summer) were included in the rental as stated in their brochure. I would recommend this apartment without hesitation. I would also recommend the location as you have easy access to many of the wonderful towns around Umbria.

Return trip, longer stay, says it all
We returned to Villa Nuba and for a longer stay this time. Not only is Guiseppe a charming and thoughtful host but the accomodation is delightful. Peaceful, comfortable and well equipped. The eco pool is great. The location is perfect for quick and easy access to Lucca or the beautiful countryside that surrounds. A gem. We'd go back tomorrow.

Wonderful place to stay in Umbria
The Villa Nuba was the perfect place for us to stay. My husband and I were vacationing with friends so we stayed in the del Perugino apartment with two bedrooms. It was beautiful, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a week stay in Umbria. Giuseppe couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Meeting him was one of the high points of our stay! Our apartment had a great kitchen that enabled us to cook many of our own meals. It had a modern bathroom and a washing mashing so we could do our own laundry. The apartment even had a fireplace that we used one night when it was cold; wood was provided for three nights for free. Although Villa Nuba is in a quiet, rural-feeling location, we were still within walking distance of Perugia so it was the perfect location for us. I would recommend The Villa Nuba to anyone traveling to Perugia or that area of Umbria. It was the best!

A Jewel in the heart of Perugia
We would highly recommend this villa. Firstly we had the pleasure of meeting Giuseppe ( the owner) whom was the most friendliest, charming, happiest host we have ever come across in all our years of travel. He was very helpful and provided us with a basket full of essentials which was much appreciated when travelling with a family. The location was amazing providing a country atmosphere with spectacular views of the Umbrian hills, but so close to Perugia town centre. Our stay was during Spring with mild weather unable to use the swimming pool but with a place such as this it was not disappointing as the Villa was very relaxing and there was plenty to do in nearby Perugia and with a car we were able to visit other places nearby such as Siena and Assisi. The Villa was spotless, romantic, relaxing and simply beautiful!! We couldn't of been happier during our stay but were disappointed we did not stay longer than our 5 days. We have highly recommended this Villa to family and friends whom intend to travel Perugia soon. Grazie to Giuseppe and his family for having this opportunity to stay at your stunning property. This was truly our highlight of our European Holiday. Salute! Australia

Prachtig onderkomen in Perugia

Brilliant property in the Umbrian hills
Like others, we booked Villa Nuba because of the good reviews we had read. We arrived at Perugia station with our two adult daughters and Guiseppe was kind enough to pick us all up, not before showing us the areas to shop, the best pizza restaurants, other good restaurants, and other highlights of Perugia and surrounding regions. The Del Pinturicchio villa was modern, warm, quiet and comfortable for four, with exceptional views across the Umbrian hills and valleys. After hectic travelling through central Europe it was the perfect destination to wind down for Christmas, with an open fire if desired and a basketful of groceries supplied by Guiseppe and Elga to welcome us. There is also the opportunity to have a spa in the bathroom to relax further. It's obvious that we loved the apartment, the area, the owners, the views and the amenities and would like to thank Guiseppe and Elga for a terrific opportunity to relax and catch up with our family, who had been elsewhere, and for even organising a taxi for us at six o'clock in the morning. We had a great time and hope to be back one day, ciao, Michael, Teresa, Laura and Hannah.

It really is charming!
This is a lovely villa on the outskirts of Perugia, with beautiful views across the Umbrian countryside. We stayed in del Pinturicchio, one of 3 apartments on the property. The apartment is spacious and wonderfully Italian. Very comfortable beds, great saltwater pool, well-equipped kitchen, mature fig tree just outside the kitchen door, jacuzzi bathtub - it was all we could have asked for. The villa is a short, entertaining walk to the nearby shops and the old town of Perugia. Hosts Guiseppe and Elga, Luigi and Bruna live in a separate house on the same property. They are very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. On arrival, Guiseppe drove us around Perugia to show us places to visit and shop at. Perugia is full of amazing historic architecture and character, but is also very laid back, friendly and relatively inexpensive. There are good train and bus connections to other destinations in Umbria such as assisi (which is well worth the trip) and to Rome. Within Perugia, there is also a good bus service, which can be quite exciting at times, given the narrow, winding roads. However, we didn't get out to see as much as we planned, because it was so pleasant hanging around the pool at the villa. We were there in September and the mornings showed signs of approaching autumn but the days were lovely and warm.

Home away From Home
My husband and I spent three weeks the end of March, early april in a Villa Nuba apartment with another couple. We had plenty of room for the four of us with two bedrooms/two baths. The apartment had a nice kitchen and we were able to fix several meals there. The weather was very nice while we were there so we were able to BBQ. The owner and his wife live on the property, which was great, especially if we had any problems. Giuseppe was very helpful, especially giving us great tips on places to visit in Umbria. We had a car for part of our stay and saw about 22 small towns all around Umbria. Then we took the train, which was also fun. We figured out how to take the bus to the train station. The bus stop was a short 5 minute walk from our place. We also walked a lot. We loved Perugia, which was centrally located and seeing that area of Italy was fantastic.

Beautiful Umbrian villa
The villas are very pleasant to stay in, and our hosts Guiseppe and Elga were superb, addressing our every need cheerfully. Their English is excellent so there were no problems with communication. The villas are perfectly presented in the countryside just a few minutes from the old city of Perugia. Other towns of Umbria are easy to access. The pool was a great place to relax.

"We had a great time during a winter visit! " "We (three adults who don?t speak Italian) stayed in Villa Nuba?s Pinturicchio apartment for five weeks (mid-February ? late March) and enjoyed our visit very much! The apartment was comfortable and nicely furnished, the view was beautiful and it was easy to walk into Perugia or catch a bus or train to nearby towns in Umbria and Tuscany. Giuseppe was a great host who stopped by regularly to be sure everything was perfect (it was!), answered our questions and provided advice on the best restaurants, shops and places to see. We shopped for local specialties like fresh pasta and vegetables and prepared them in the apartment?s well equipped kitchen. We used our fireplace nearly every night and we all loved the deep bathtub. Since the water is heated on demand, you never run out of hot water! Since I needed to work while we were there, I used the high speed internet connection - that worked out nicely. The weather in Italy in winter can be chilly but we were glad we went then ? there were very few tourists. We recommend Villa Nuba and plan to return! " Date of Arrival : Feb 19, 2008 Sharon Hunter

Bravo Guiseppe
We had a fantastic time at Villa Nuba. Guiseppe is the perfect unobtrusive host . Always available when you need him and full of excellent tips to make sure you get the most out of your holiday The girls complained a bit about the walk into Perugia but we soon worked out the buses so that we only had to walk back and then plunge into the fantastic pool to cool off Plenty of places to go by bus or car. We even managed a couple of days in Rome (drove to Orte and then took train and managed to visit the lovely Orvieto on the way back). We had a car for a week (cheap rental courtesy of Guiseppe) but didn’t bother to use for Perugia because parking is hopeless and the driver liked to enjoy himself ! The local fiesta was great for food and dancing and we went to some fab restaurants in Perugia but just hanging around the pool and the villa was pure pleasure. Thanks again to Guiseppe and family for a great holiday !

Dear Guiseppe, We absolutely adored our stay in Del Perugina, Villa Nuba, and miss it already! First of all, picking us up at the train station was so appreciated, as we had been traveling for 30 hours by that time! Then, to find our bountiful basket of food waiting for us was wonderful, as all the stores were closed on Sunday! Your friendliness and your family's kindness was exceptional.Remembering our excursion in your car to the outside region of Perugia city was one of the highlights of our holiday! We loved the elegance and charm of our apartment, which was equipped with everything one would need- truly "a home away from home". The views of the surrounding countryside were spellbinding as were the gardens surrounding Villa Nuba. Thank you so much for the most wonderful stay in a beautiful are called Umbria. We will remember it always. We highly recommend Villa Nuba Apartments. We will be back again! Ciao, Linda and Gary Meyers

Dear Giuseppe, My parents and I had a wonderful time in Perugia and particularly at Villa Nuba. We loved the Colle Giorgio II area and particularly the very comfortable Del Perugino apartment. It was very spacious, clean and everything worked perfectly. Giuseppe, you and your family were very welcoming and helpful. We thouroughly enjoyed the pesto sauce made by your mother and please give her a big thank you. The welcome basket was very useful for us, especially if one arrives on a Sunday when all the shops are closed. Having the computer room was definitely a plus. I give the whole villa an A+. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished at Villa Nuba.

Trip highlight!
While we enjoyed telling people we were staying in a "villa in Italy," it actually turned out to be that luxurious! The pool was wonderful, parking was easy, the villa was clean and well equipped, and Giuseppe was a charming and helpful host. He even helped us when my husband smashed our car into a tree in the driveway (long story) and we had to call a tow truck. The villa looks like the pictures and there are tons of small touches (fresh herbs for cooking, stars on the bedroom ceilings) that make it so enjoyable. We found Perugia a great home base for visiting Umbria and even Tuscany (just don't tell Giuseppe -- he is Umbria's biggest promoter). We did day trips all around the region, traveling an hour to two hours away, but we loved coming home to the villa. Highly recommend!

Warm, friendly and beautiful

Wonderful stay in Perugia!
The property has a great pool, cabanas, & built in bbq to enjoy. Our Villa had a lovely patio which we enjoyed having our coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. While I was there, I got very attached to “Pato” the friendly family cat. I looked forward to his daily visits, as he helped me while I was missing my own cat at home. I highly recommend Villa Nuba, you will not be disappointed!

Wonderful holiday choice!
Staying at Villa Nuba is like staying with family you didn't know you had. The location is quite unique. You are at once in the countryside and in Perugia! It really is the best of both worlds. I was a delighted with Umbria and would encourage travelers to make sure to see its beautiful towns. The details in the rooms including hardwood floors, beautiful furniture, artwork and fabulous bed linens contributed so much to the enjoyment of our stay. Also helpful was a list of recommended shops and restaurants in the area that Giuseppe provides, along with a very useful discount card. We relied heavily on his suggestions and were never disappointed. It removed much of the "hit and miss" time from the holiday! My young children, who had a brilliant time, want me to tell you that "there's free wifi, the ice cream in Perugia is divine and that Giuseppe does a really good job keeping the pool clean." What more is there?

Fantastico!
The apartment is a delight. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lounge/diner and a kitchen. Log fire if needed, although we didn't need to light the fire as the central heating system kept the apartment warm enough. Plenty of car parking space. The apartment is located quite near to the city centre BUT to get to the city centre (centro storico) is up hill, a steep hill (or two or three) so you will need to be fit to get from the apartment to the centro storico. It can be done, I did it, but it took me a while along with some 'admiring of the views' stops on the way up. If you have difficulty with walking/not that fit then take the car to one of the car parks where there are escalators. We used the car parks Pellini and Europe where there are escalators. Use both to see different bits of Perugia. But be aware that some uphill walking will still be needed. The most delightful thing though of our stay was our host, Giuseppe. What a wonderful host he is. Not only does he speak English but he goes out of his way to show you how to access the city, where the nearest car park is, where the nearest supermarket is, where the nearest pizzeria is oh and ever so many other things as well. There was also a welcome (and very welcome it was too) basket of food waiting for us on our arrival including a very nice bottle of red wine. Milk, water and orange juice were also provided and were waiting for us in the fridge. A lovely, lovely man is Giuseppe and Villa Nuba is in a lovely, lovely location. Perugia is a great and extremely interesting city to explore (but take oxygen supply - oh! them there hills). Alas we were there for only 7 days. Far too short a time. Make it longer if you can. So much to do and so little time to see and do it all. Loved it. Stayed March 2015, travelled as a couple

We booked at Villa Nuba because of the reviews a]we had read and discovered all we read was true. We had a great experience and were really well looked after by Giuseppe and his lovely family. So glad we stayed here.
We were weary after a long day's travel so it was wonderful to drive through Villa Nuba's impressive gates. It was even more wonderful when Giuseppie introduced himself and showed us to our apartment. Our apartment, Del Perugino, was immaculate and beautifully decorated. It felt as if we had walked into a five star establishment. A basket of breakfast and dinner supplies provided a warm welcome, as did other touches in the apartment. Giuseppe is more than an owner. He is a host in the true spirit of the word. He was warm, friendly and nothing was too much trouble to ensure our family's stay was very special and comfortable. His information tour is something other hosts could learn from. We had originally booked for five nights but decided to stay eight. For our boys the pool and Pato, the cat, had something to do with their decision. For us, we felt at home and amongst friends with Giuseppie, Elga and Lorenzo. We wish them all the best and hope we can share their slice of heaven soon. Thank you for such beautiful memories.

Better than expected - perfect escape from stress and daily life
The appartment is furnished with a lot of care and love to detail. All is kept clean and comfortable. The fully-furnished kitchen allows everything from just grabbing some snacks to preparing a full meal. On the first day, a welcome package expected us in order to free us from the neccessity to buy groceries after the journey. As a special service, Giuseppe showed us around to find locations such as the closest supermarket, bakery, parking, etc. Having him and his family living nearby is of special advantage as you always have someone to ask for support or advice. We especially appreciated his efforts in selecting good restaurants (with special offers for Villa Nuba guests). The swimming pool is kept clean all time and allows a nice view over the landscape...a perfect place to escape, relax and enjoy!

Stay at Villa Nuba
An excellent choice! My husband and I spent a week at Villa Nuba at the end of June and loved it. It's location makes it a very convenient choice to visit the surrounding hilltop villages in Umbria. We booked the Del Perugino apartment, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, and found it to be very spacious, modern and extremely comfortable. Giuseppe and his wife Elga, our hosts, are very hospitable and knowledgeable and always on hand to offer help. Giuseppe took us on a tour of Perugia to help us get acquainted with the area and all it has to offer. It definitely felt like our home away from home. Bob & Cathy, California

Three weeks in Perugia
This spacious apartment on the outskirts of Perugia was an ideal choice for enjoying both the city and the neighbouring hill-towns. Clean and well appointed, located close to a bus stop, a good local bakery and a supermarket, it provided for all our needs. The swimming pool was a bonus, especially as the autumn was unseasonably warm. Our landlord Giuseppe was very hands-on and full of good advice - his restaurant recommendations in particular were very useful. Though the gardens are charming (the fig tree was fruiting while we were there), this particular appartment has no view. If returning, we would choose the upper appartment with a balcony and a good view of the surrounding countryside.

Great placew to stay on the outskirts of Perugia
This is a great place to stay with easy walking access to the old town as well as driving access to the motorway to tour Umbria. The villas are very comfortable, spacious and beautifully furnished and decorated. There are lovely views over the Umbrian hills from the gardens and the upper level of the property. Giuseppe is an excellent host - accessible, very friendly, excellent English and very helpful for planning trips around Umbria. There are plenty of tour guide and books in the villa. The only difficulty we had was initially finding the property after dark, but Giuseppe says he will now send more detailed instructions with booking confirmation. We look forward to returning to Villa Nuba.

Wonderful apartment, beautiful surroundings, gracious host
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Villa Nuba Bonfigli apartment for 13 days in March of 2015. We had a fantastic experience, and we look forward to returning in the future. This is a perfect place to stay to explore by car Perugia’s beautiful and friendly hill towns like Assisi, Gubbio, Spello, Spoletto, Montefalco, and Orvieto. The host: Guiseppe was the perfect host. His English skills are outstanding, and during our stay, he went out of his way to make sure that our stay was perfect. He lives on site with his wife, Elga, and his small son Lorenzo. He grew-up in Perugia, and he knows everything there is to know about the area. He is fiercely proud of being Umbrian, and was very helpful in helping us plan our day trips to the various Umbrian towns. The Bonfigli apartment: Perfect for a couple. Charming, romantic, and well appointed. Very comfortable, peaceful, clean, and well equipped. Excellent high speed WIFI with an access point in the apartment. Complete with refrigerator, dishwasher, cook top, washing machine, Jacuzzi bathtub, and fireplace. Adjoining patio and pool area. The area: The walk to Perugia can be challenging if you are less than physically capable. Perugia is quite hilly, and the walk to town can be difficult, especially in the rain. Taxi and bus options are available. Driving tips: Villa Nuba is somewhat difficult to find as it is on the side of a hill, northeast of the city center of Perugia. IOS maps and Google maps may try to route you through the city center. Be careful to avoid driving in downtown Perugia. Instead, route around the city to the east, and approach Villa Nuba from Eugubina road. The entrance to Villa Nuba is at the intersection of Eugubina and Piero della Francesca. It was helpful to view a satellite photo looking for the pool to find the apartment. Exploring the area: A car is really necessary to visit Umbrian towns. There is safe parking at Villa Nuba. Plan visits to Umbrian towns by locating parking lots outside of the city center. Set GPS to arrive at the parking lots, and walk to the city centers. I look forward to returning to Villa Nuba. I plan to stay in touch with Giuseppe, as I now consider him a friend as well as a gracious host.

It Doesn't Get Better Than This
We recently stayed at the Villa Nuba in the Bonfigli apartment. Everything was done to perfection. The apartment was spotless, charming and very well equipped. There is a lovely salt water pool, that is also very clean, and has plenty of seating options. All of those things would have been enough, but to add to the perfection were the amazing owners of the Villa. Giuseppe, Elga and their family went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. They are warm, hospitable and will do whatever it takes to make things perfect. We travel quite a bit, and have been to Italy many times, and I have to say that the Villa Nuba surpassed our expectations.

Infinitely beautiful, precious memories
My husband and I stayed in del Bonfigli (Villa Nuba) with our dog from September 1 to December 31. Every day we experienced the beautiful surroundings -- spectacular views from our apartment, el fresco dining, relaxing pool-side, and walks nearby and to the center of Perugia. The location provides easy access by car to hilltowns and historic sites. But the key to all this were the owners and hosts, Giuseppe, Elga and their son Lorenzo. Giuseppe did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and fun, and Elga was so kind and always ready to help. I can't thank them enough for making our stay in Italy so interesting, enjoyable and memorable!

Fabulous!
My husband and I are from Melbourne, Australia and we stayed in del Pinturicchio apartment for 3 weeks. The apartment was wonderful, quiet, spotlessly clean with fabulous views and a sparkling swimming pool. The best part though was Giuseppe who was fantastic! So helpful with suggestions on where to go, where to eat and where to shop. My husband and I are in our sixties. The walk into Perugia is quite steep (you can take the bus though) but we found a slightly longer but 'flatter' way - passing 2 bakeries that are 'musts', so not much hardship there! Giuseppe will direct you. Walking home through Perugia after dinner was no problem at all as it was mostly downhill. We cannot recommend Villa Nuba highly enough. Thank you Giuseppe for making our holiday so enjoyable. You were the 'perfect' host and we loved meeting little Lorenzo who was a joy and your beautiful wife Elga. We will visit you again. Ciao for now!

A wonderful holiday
We loved our two weeks at Villa Nuba. Driving from France meant arriving after dark and getting hopelessly lost in the confusion of roads that surround Perrugia but Giuseppe, our host, hopped into his car, found us, and led us home. The appartment was very tastefully furnished (no kitsch), spotless, and extremely well appointed. The website does not exaggerate its charms at all. The rural setting is wonderful on the edge of the city but close enough to drive in to park near the Etruscan Gate (5 minutes) or to walk in (20-30 minutes depending on your fitness). There are food shops within an easy walk. The grounds, view, and morning birdsong are beautiful. Villa Nuba is an excellent base for exploring the region, and Giuseppe provides excellent advice on where to go and what to eat. We strongly recommend a meal at his sister's restaurant in a wonderful nearby hill town. Do ask about this as Giuseppe is too delicate to push it. We come from Australia and the two bedrooms allowed us to invite friends from England to join us for both weeks and we all loved both Perrugia and Villa Nuba. Its situation not far from the highway made exploring easy. We spent a wonderful day in Urbino, taking the northern route over the Appenines and coming back the less dramatic route through Gubbio. Assissi in May is glorious and not too crowded. Montefalco is well worth a visit, but make sure that you lunch at the Alchimisto - recommended by Giuseppe. Exploring Hannibal's battlefield at Lake Trasimeno in the rain was also fun. Lots to do. Most of it involves walking up hills since this is where all the older towns are situated but you can always take your time and enjoy the view. We had 10 Italian lessons before coming. While Giuseppe speaks excellent English, our few phrases gave us the confidence to get around and talk to people so it is well worth the effort. As former backpackers and campers, this was our most expensive accommodation ever - but well, well worth the expense and excellent value for money. We are saving up for another visit! Hidden pearl in Perugia
Villa Nuba provides you with the opportunity to live the Italian way of living with the well equipped flats and the beautiful surroundings. It's location is very convient as it is walking distance to the city center and if you want to visit attractions you don't have to drive far in Umbrien. The service provided from the owner of Villa Nuba is extremely high and beyond expectations: forexample the owner took us for a drive in the city the first day, so that we knew where to go afterwards for shopping, sightseeing and buy the best Italian icecreame.

peaceful and happyness
A good place to stay because it is in a peaceful area nearby the centre of Perugia, a lovely city. The property is renewed so everything is perfect and the owner is always at the disposal of the guests for everything you need. The apartment is furnished of a good kitchen, a very large sitting-room, two bedrooms (with wonderful beds) and a bathroom. Outside there's a swimming-pool but we've not used it because we stay there during the winter season and it was quite cold! But not inside, obviously!

Very very nice experience
Marvelous view from our flat on the 1st floor of the Residence over the hills surrounding Perugia. We enjoyed the sunset from our balcony every single day of our stay last August ! Very nice atmosphere thanks to very dedicated hosts who did their utmost to make our stay as nice as possible. Giuseppe welwomes you with a big smile and brings you round to the shops next to the Residence, while Elga offers nice Pilates classes around the swimming pool. The teenage children enjoyed the swimming-pool and above all being so close (10 mns) to the centre of Perugia, which is a very beautiful and lively town, full of foreign students. What else do you want?

This is the place to stay in Perugia!
As soon as we arrived we knew that the Villa Nuba was the right place for us. The setting is beautiful and Giuseppe is the very best of hosts. Everything was elegant, well appointed, convenient and comfortable. We loved being within walking distance of many activities that we wanted to do in Perugia. Evenings by the fire after a day of seeing Italy was a treat. Italy at its best.

Perfect!!!
We stayed at Villa Nuba for 3 months in 2009, 10 days in 2015, and this year 2017, along with my brother and sister in law stayed at Villa Nuba for a month. We call Villa Nuba our home in a Italy. It is quaint, charming, and the epitome of living in Italy. Giuseppe and his Family have become friends like family to us. They are wonderful people who are hospitable, helpful, friendly, and treat their guests extremely well. Villa Nuba is located in a spot in Perugia that just says "home". There is a grocery store in walking distance and the location is in the perfect spot for bus access and very near the train station, which works for those of us that want to see all those fabulous hill cities of Perugia but do not want to rent a car. We have used Villa Nuba as our home base in Italy and travelled to many cities in Italy. We are planning to rent all three suites in 2019 to share our experiences with Villa Nuba and the Family with our children and grandchildren. We highly recommend Villa Nuba as a place for long stays or short stays, romantic stays, single stays and Family stays. We know that once you've stayed there once you will want to return.

Our favorite "home away from home"
This was the second time we've stayed at Villa Nuba. Need I say that we love it? There aren't enough superlatives for describing it. We stayed again in the del Bonfigli apartment, which is beautifully furnished, and completely comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied for light cooking. The lovely gift basket provided to guests on arrival provides the first night's and next mornings meals. The grocery store a short walk away has everything you could want for preparing meals in your apartment. The bed is divine (I never sleep well in other beds - except this one), and the linens, heavy Italian cotton, a luxury. Guiseppe and Elga are the most gracious hosts, going out of their way to make guests welcome and ensure that their stay is a good one. They provide tips on restaurants, sights, shopping and many other things. When you stay, get the Perugia walking tour guide at the tourist info center in the centro storico. It provides a guided tour of the five different neighborhoods of old Perugia, each of them quite distinct. The guide provides history and background on the churches, towers, steps, palazzos and other sights. It will give you a feel for the beautiful city that you won't get from just enjoying the Corso Vannuci. Travel through Umbria - the most beautiful part of Italy. The mountains and walled medieval cities, the soft light, the deep greens of the forests and silvery green of the olive groves playing against the yellow fields - you won't find this kind of beauty any where else! Umbrian people are friendly, helpful, warm, and happy to have visitors. The restaurants are outstanding, some of them small places mostly serving local people. We had the most amazing meals of our Italian trip in Umbria. We'll be back - to see more of Umbria, to sit and watch the gorgeous sunsets, to taste the excellent foods, and to see our hosts/friends Guiseppe and Elga (and Lorenzo).

Perfect apartment, Perfect Location, Great Owners
My wife and I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Villa Nuba in Perugia (September 15-30, 2012). The apartment and Grounds: Del Bonfigli was the perfect size for a couple and was very well appointed with everything we needed for a two week stay. We enjoyed cooking many of our own Italian meals in the kitchen and also used the outdoor grill when we craved some good steaks. Each morning we would enjoy our breakfast out on the beautiful patio area and many nights we would finish there with a glass of wine. The grounds at Villa Nuba are also very nice. The pool area is well maintained and in a beautiful setting. The salt water was a bit cool given it was late September but very refreshing. I was in the pool nearly every day, and then would dry off under the warm Umbrian sun. We would essentially tour an Umbrian city one day and then rest, relax and hang out at the pool the next making for a great combination. Because of the secluded nature of Villa Nuba, you very much feel you are out in the countryside but are only a 5 minute walk to a couple of grocery stores and cafes. Only a twenty minute walk to central Perugia. The Owners: All the comments you read on Giuseppe and Elga are true. Such a nice couple and so very helpful. We consider ourselves to be pretty self sufficient travelers and enjoy exploring on our own but anytime at all we needed advice or help they were right there. Upon arriving Giuseppe handed us a list of restaurants, not just in Perugia but other towns and we were not disappointed. Frankly, a couple of them we ate at more than once and always used the "Villa Nuba Gold Card" which provided a nice discount at these establishments. Giuseppe and Elga are not absentee owners; they live on the property and are there to make sure you are having a special visit to their beloved Umbria.

Absolutely wonderful!!!
Loved Villa Nuba. Giuseppe met us at the train and made us feel very welcome. Stopped at the supermarket to help us get some groceries for our stay. Giuseppe was so helpful. Spoke english very well. The villa was in a perfect position...very quiet, wonderful views over the Perugian countryside...and, had a great fireplace!! Supermarket very close, bus stop very close! If we wanted to travel by train to other hilltop towns, it was 15 mins from Villa Nuba to the train station via bus and mini metro...very convenient. I will be back!!

Recommend for all ages
We rented Del Bonfigli for a month and also Del Perugino for a fortnight for our daughter and family (one son aged 3.5). Both apartments were spotlessly cleaned and had everything we could have wanted. A special price was agreed willingly. Giuseppe and Elga were ideal hosts, providing advice and information (including a trip round the locality on arrival and helping us shop for the weekend). Any small difficluties were dealt with instantly and Giuseppe took us on a tour of the Hypogeum and arranged for us to join a tour of the newly excavated remains beneath the Cathedral Museum - Absolutely fascinating but some understanding of Italian is needed - the guide spoke slowly to help us. The pool was excellent and much enjoyed by our Grandson (as was the Jazz Festival) and we had a wonderful time as a family which we have rarely been able to do before. We used taxis to get into Perugia rather than walk or use the bus (both of which were easy) as they were so efficient and available at a reasonable price. Overall a superb place to stay and so well looked after, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Will visit again
My husband and 2 friends arrived at Villa Nuba in August 2008. We had a wonderful time with good weather, spacious accommodation, immaclulate and nice pool. Very quiet at times felt as though we were the only people there. The apartment villa is well equipped with everything that you would need. Although close to main sites of Perugia not exactly walking distance. Once we found the villa very easy to find again, however advise you to ring the great owner Guisseppe to come and meet you for directions. Guisseppe very helpful and friendly, took two of us on a local tour to orientate ourselves. Definitely need a car to view local sites. Great position for Assisi and surrounding countryside, short drive to motorway for easy access to other towns and attractions.

Guestbook Comment
Villa Nuba will not be forgotten. I travelled with my Mother, Aunt and Friend for her 65th birthday. We were greeted with a warm, familial reception. In fact, I feel like I have made friends for life! Giuseppe made everything easy. I was even able to email my kids back home every night because the villa has a computer that is available for guests. The pool, views, location, accommodation was first rate. Our apartment was clean, tasteful and because Giuseppe had thought of everything, it was easy to adjust to being so far away from home. We enjoyed visiting Assisi, Deruta, Todi as well as Perugia, with ease. There's even a shopping mall close by (Collestrada,), I felt like I lived there for our week and loved it! I will certainly go back, next time with my husband and kids, they too will be able to make great memories at Villa Nuba!

My wife and I stayed at the Perugino apartment at the Villa Nuba for 10 daysin April 2007.We were met by Giuseppe, the owner, and from this moment we knew that wewere in for a very special holiday. He is a most delightful host whogenuinely cares that his guests have a good holiday. His local knowledgesaved us a considerable amount of time in searching out where to go and whatto see. Nothing was any trouble and the short drive round the immediatearea on arrival was certainly unique in our experience! The apartment was found to be beautifully appointed and well furnished. The“personal touches” were evident with fresh flowers from the garden, a smalllibrary of books in English and a welcome basket of food and drink.During our stay, we met members of the family as they went about their dailylives and this helped us to feel part of the Italian culture and way oflife. We have travelled extensively in Italy and this is by far thefriendliest part of the country, and one of the most beautiful.Would we go back? Certainly YES!

A host & town like no other
It’s hard to put into words how wonderful the stay in Perugia was. It was the best trip and I fell in love with the town; liked it better than our stay in Rome. Our host at Villa Nuba was like no other host I’ve met before. I’ve stayed at Bed & Breakfast places, but I’ve never had anyone spend soooo much time with us. I think my co-workers have heard my praises of Giuseppe multiple times, and I’ve recommended his Villa and the town several times to people I’ve talked to that have mentioned they are going to Italy. Giuseppe pointed out everything in the apartment & how to use it, as well as walking us around the grounds. He then took us in his car and pointed out various places that would help us with our stay. We ate breakfast every morning at the pastry shop he showed us. And we had a great dinner at his favorite restaurant. The town was fabulous and within walking distance from the apartment. We did however get lost a couple of times coming “home”. Our host was very sweet as he was extremely concerned when he didn’t see my 3 girlfriends and myself or our car for 2 days when we left early and came “home” late from our sightseeing excursions. If I’m ever lucky enough to go back to Italy, I’ll definitely stay there again.

Wonderful place in Umbria~!
We stayed at the 2 bedroom apartment hosted by Giuseppe, and had a wonderful time in Perugia. Giuseppe was a very welcoming host, and took the time to drive us around the city briefly to show us the routes and places to eat. The apartment had everything we needed, including food to start us off during our week stay there. The fireplace also adds a beautiful touch to the Italian winter. His recommendations for dining places were also excellent, with slight discounts offered when stay at Villa Nuba. Would stay there again if we visit Perugia again for sure!

Del Perugino-Fabulous place-Cool pool-Recommended
This was our second time visit to Perugia we love it so much. The first time we stayed in the Hotel Perusia, Monteluce so when we searched again for a place to stay we were overjoyed to find Villa Nuba Cottages just down the road from the hotel, i.e. the same area. We stayed at one of the three apartments – Del Perugino which was the larger size of the three. Our party consisted of two married couples and the apartment was plenty big enough for us all. We were met by Giuseppe our host who spoke very good English and with great humour, he explained everything to do with the apartment and there is plenty of additional information in the apartment. The salt water pool and barbecue area is superb, we used both, especially the pool which was amazing. We ate well at restaurants recommended by Giuseppe and enjoyed some discount on meals. There are two supermarkets in the area and a cashpoint. Giuseppe will show you around on your arrival so you an familiarise yourselves. Perugia is a lovely student city, wonderful architecture and plenty of places to visit in Umbria itself. We used public transport (trains and buses) which we found good value when you compare with the UK. We will definitely visit again and probably hire a car next time to explore those places inaccessible by public transport. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, meeting Giuseppe, his wife Elga and son Lorenzo who have become new friends.*****Thoroughly Recommended*****

Perugia Get away
If you are planning on visiting Perugia and Umbria in general, this is the perfect location to stay. If you are just a couple or a whole family this Villa would be perfect to fit your needs. There are 3 fully equipped apartments ( 2- 2 bedroom and 1 -1 bedroom) with nicely appointed features. The grounds and pool are perfect for the relaxing moments. The owners we cannot say enough good things about. They are lovely and tremendously helpful in navigating your way around. The location can get you to many other places in this part of Italy in a fairly short amount of time and that is of great connivence. We were able to leave in the morning and visit a number of different cities and or villages and still have time to get back and enjoy the Villa and relax. If you get there make sure you tell Lorenzo that Donald Duck says hello.

Fantastic Vacation Rental In Perugia, Umbria
This vacation rental far exceeded our expectations. It was modern, immaculately cleaned and the grounds were well maintained. The apartment included the amenities of TV, Wi-Fi, Laundry, fully equipped kitchen with a Dish Washer, BBQ, Pool, use of the herb garden as well as excellent parking. Nothing was lacking. Giuseppe, the owner, provided superbly outstanding customer service during our stay. When we got lost driving to the apartment, he came and found us and showed us the way. During our orientation to the property, he orientated us to Perugia by pointing out attractions on the local map. He then followed this up with a brief tour by car. We were give a welcome basket which included provisions for the a dinner the first night as well as breakfast the next morning. The apartment was with in easy walking distance of restaurants, grocery store, ATM, bakery, Bus Stop, and a main gate to the city of Perugia. Using our apartment as a home base we took day trips to Assisi, Deruta, and Gubbio. We spent one day taking a cooking class in Perugia. Giuseppe arranged a special guided tour to Paolo Bea organic winery, which was one of the high lights of our trip. I highly recommend this apartment to any one who is looking to have a relaxing Italian vacation with the opportunity to be exposed the real every day Italian culture.

"Charming" is the word
We were happy to arrive at Villa Nuba and sad to leave. My wife and I had a wonderful time during our holiday there. We stayed for two weeks in July/August 2013. First, the owners, Giuseppe and his wife Elga, who live on site, treated us like family. Nothing was too much for them. On our arrival, we welcomed by a basket with wine and local produce. Things to get us started before any real shopping was done. The wine was delicious and any strain remaining from our drive to Perugia was relaxed! We were given a tour of the facilities followed by a short tour of the area around Villa Nuba. Giuseppe pointed out the recommended places to shop and eat, some of which offered discounts to his guests. All that was good introduction to the weeks ahead. Villa Nuba is very close to the breathtakingly beautiful old town of Perugia. A walk there takes only about 15 minutes, and the bus is just around the corner for those not wishing to walk. Of course, Perugia also offers ample parking space in the various car parks around the town. Giuseppe also has an arrangement with the local taxi company, which we also found most valuable during our stay. Secondly, our accommodation in the apartment – bearing the name "Del Bonfigli' left nothing to be desired. We had to smile when we saw that we could make coffee in the morning in either the traditional Italian way, in the German "filter" way or with a Nespresso maker (sans capsules, of course)! And of course, the local supermarket, just a few minutes away, sells "instant coffee" for the less discerning! The kitchen was well equipped. We had dinner in the evening either at one of the local eateries or on the open terrace adjoining our rooms. It was lovely. The swimming pool was total relaxation with its sparkling water, loungers and covered "gazebo" for an afternoon of relaxation. Although we also had a television, there was so much to do that we never got around to switching it on! Villa Nuba is ideally placed for tourists visiting Perugia or for those wishing to use Perugia as a base to tour around Umbria. We enjoyed it thoroughly. We have already recommended it to our friends and we shall certainly make a point of going back there again. We take away with us many pleasant memories of Villa Nuba and Perugia.

Villa Nuba....the place to stay
Prior to leaving home and while liaising with Villa Nuba regarding a weeks stay there I came to the conclusion that Giuseppe, the person with whom I was corresponding with, was a little old Italian man. Well I got that wrong. The reality is quite the opposite. Villa Nuba is a short distance from the old city of Perugia, within walking distance if you like walking or by bus which is a couple hundred metres from the gate. The apartments are well appointed and modern with a pleasing view over some rolling valleys. The property is well maintained offering a very inviting swimming pool and outdoor area, unfortunately for us we were just a little ahead of the swimming season. During our stay we visited many of the medieval hilltop villages and including Perugia on many occasions. Where to go, what to see, where to eat, where to shop, where not to shop or eat was made all that much easier by inside information....from Giuseppe. It can often be the case that while travelling a good time is dependent upon the people you meet....well we didn't have to look any further than our host, he made our stay that much more enjoyable. We did get to meet his beautiful wife Elga and gorgeous son Lorenzo and also mama and papa. By the time we left we felt more like family members that guests. Would I recommend Villa Nuba....sure I would.....highly recommend it!!!

Great holiday at Villa Nuba
What a lovely place to go for a relaxing holiday. We spent a week here but could easily have stayed for weeks longer! The apartment itself was beautiful and equipped with more appliances and utensils than my own flat! The nearby supermarket and outdoor barbecue facilities at Villa Nuba were a fantastic way to enjoy locat food without having to go out. The weather was great while we were there and the salt water swimming pool was the perfect place to relax with a book and enjoy the sun. The location of Villa Nuba is brilliant - it is far enough out of the city centre to be quiet and calm yet Perugia is within easy reach as are many other Umbrian towns for day trips. Giuseppe and Elga are very welcoming and even showed us the important bits about town on our arrival such as the supermarket, where to park and eat etc. Definitely hope to go back at some point in the future - a great holiday location.

Great location, beautiful area!
The appartment del Pinturicchio was great. Good size rooms and well equipped. It was clean and tidy. The villa has a great swimming pool and a nice playground with fences wich was great for our two kids. I would absolutely recommend this place to both families and others. We stayed there for two months. The owners, Giuseppe and Elga welcommed us and made sure that our stay was perfect. Within walking distance (5 - 10 minutes) you find a few restaruants, supermarkets and bakeries. The walk to the city center is a bit longer (25 min) and quite steep, but it is a nice walk. If you get tired you can take the bus. The city center has shops and restaurants and some museums. The restaurants range from city food with a "hole in the wall" to Michellin quality. The price range is quite nice. Perugia is a calm and beautiful city and the surroundings include wineries and other ancient cities. A visit to some of the wineries in the Montefalco area is absolutely recommended. But be sure to also enjoy the relaxing pool area at the Villa. With local wine, fresh bread from the bakery and excellent crude ham from the supermarket you have all you need for the perfect holliday.

Love this place
All the many positive reviews are true! From the very start of the booking process the communication was excellent. I had many email questions which were responded to promptly. We then had to change the date due to a family wedding and again the owner was very considerate and flexible. Bonfigli is very cozy with many finishing touches that you would never see in normal holiday accommodation. We had the pool to ourselves most days and the Umbria view is stunning. Guiseppe helped me arrange a surprise birthday treat for my husband (the wine tour). He was discreetly in the background if we needed help (ordered us a taxi, ordered pizza delivery and telephoned our next accommodation in Assisi to ask for a room with a view). Villa Nuba is a very special place - our memories will last a lifetime! I wish I lived there! Enjoy!

Wonderful accomodation with a wonderful host!
Our stay at Villa Nuba was absolutely fantastic! The villa was perfectly situated with easy access into the town centre and the accommodation itself was very comfortable and well organised. The addition of a fireplace was particularly lovely and made the villa very warm and cosy. Giuseppe, our host, was extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. He provided a small food basket for the beginning of our stay which was very thoughtful. Giuseppe also provided us with lots of information on places to eat and shop in Perugia. He included a special 'gold card' which gave discounts on specific good quality restaurants and shops in the area which was a great bonus! Giuseppe himself is a really lovely and extremely funny guy. It was so wonderful meet him and his beautiful family. Thanks so much for an amazing stay! I hope to be back one day soon!

This was our best experience in Italy by far.
First, an excellent location. Walking distance to all the amenities you might want and the picturesque old town of Perugia. Also close driving distance to the famous hill towns of Umbria and the Sibillini mountains. Close enough to be anywhere in Italy in a few hours actually if you could tear yourself away. The accommodation is excellent. Quite private, in beautiful grounds with a pool, bbq and a fantastic view. The apartment lacks nothing, and if you enjoy cooking for yourself has an excellent kitchen where you could potentially cook anything you could imagine. The very best bit however is the hospitality of hosts Guiseppe and Elga. Nothing seems too much trouble and your every need seems to have been anticipated. On arrival Guiseppe took us on a tour of Perugia showing us the way to get around and even taught us how to shop like a local. He also handed us the Villa Nuba gold card which not only provides a discount at selected establishments, but also ensures you are treated properly. And we certainly were treated properly whenever we used it. Even Pato made sure we were OK, visiting each day. I will echo the sentiments of others by saying Guiseppe and Elga are the Italian family you never knew you had. Their hospitality is legendary in my view. If you are looking for accommodation in the area its hard to imagine you could possibly do better than Villa Nuba. It's that good.

Villa In Perugia

Comfortable apartment with great host on edge of fascinating city
Villa Nuba has everything you need for a comfortable holiday plus a few extras, such as a jacuzzi bath, great views, a lovely pool area and a host, who really looks out for his guests. The apartment was beautifully clean and well equipped. Perugia is a fascinating city, full of history and culture, as well as having excellent restaurants, cafes and shops. Guiseppe is happy to recommend places to eat and we certainly enjoyed excellent food and ice-cream everywhere that he suggested. Whilst you do not need a car to stay at Villa Nuba and explore Perugia, it is worth having one if you wish to visit the surrounding countryside and other nearby towns.

The Villa Nuba: perfect for exploring and relaxing
We stayed in villa Nuba for two months, from summer into fall 2016, because we wanted to explore the Umbria, Toscana og Marche-regions. But also because we needed to relax, read and write. The del Perugino is a beautiful, spacey and practical apartment. It really turned out as a home away because of the comfort the apartment represented, and because of the helpfullness, friendliness and at the same time the discretion the host, his parents and the hired help offered. The garden with its flowers, pinetrees and pool-area is guiet and perfect for relaxation. The walk into Perugia is charming and a suitable distance for light exercise, the surrounding cities are beautiful and a historylesson each one of them. We were visited for two weeks by our grandchildren who now talk about Villa Nuba as "our place in Italy". They had a wonderful time in the pool, in the playground, and playing hide and seek and ballgames all over the property. We would like to come back, and can truely recommend the villa Nuba

Nice place to stay
We stayed for 4 days at this wonderful apartment within walking distance of the city. It has a fully equipped kitchen and the amenities are many. The owner went out of his way to make sure our stay was pleasant. He gave us a tour of the town when we arrived and dealt with the problem of the barking dog as best he could (this wasn't his fault). Our GPS indicated we had "arrived at our destination" but we weren't able to find the apartment because the sign wasn't clear. The owner will meet you at a local gas station and lead the way for you. Please take him up on that offer. I would recommend this particular apartment for couples; however, the other apartments can handle more people. Very neat and clean. Very nice owner. Cons: There is only a hand-held showerhead (not really a problem -- the tub is huge).

Very very nice experience!

Where do you begin? The Villa Nuba is a must for anyone who loves Umbria in Italy. Giuseppe welcomes you into a holiday of a lifetime. The Villa is set in beautiful surroundings and has a very high standard, and is well equipped and maintained. The nice touches are the welcome basket of Italian food and wine on arrival and he gives you a flavour of the area with a short drive in his car to the nearby city of Perugia. Whilst not essential, a car is an asset to visit some of the local places of interest. Grazie Mille Giuseppe Norman and Virginia

An outstanding stay in Perugia and Villa Nuba Apartments!
A beautiful, well maintained property just below historic Perugia, Lovely people, lovely accomodation. We were delighted with our apartment, the ammenities, the ability to be so close to all the important historical, Roman, Etruscian medieval towns and villages. We were so well cared for by Giuseppe and his family. The property is lovingly cared for and has everything anyone could possibly want at their disposal for a visit in Umbria. A pool, safe parking, shopping and restos, a manageable hike up to the main town, or if you rent a car there is parking not far away from the hilltop town should you not wish to hike up and down. Public transportation is close by to get up to Perugia proper. And what a great place Perugia is....hard to imagine until you visit it...takes your breath away. The apartment we stayed in had everything from a fireplace to a washing machine, gas stove, a comfy bed, jacuzzi tub. It is clean, well furnished and a lovely patio is right outside with a garden and nice summer furnature. You cannot go wrong here. We would come back and visit in a heartbeat.

Excellent stay in Umbria thanks to Villa Nuba
Excellent place, close to historical center of Perugia, both by car or walking, but located in a very quiet neighborhood. The "Perugino" apartment hosted perfectly our family (parents and 4 big children), everything included, and Giuseppe always available for helping in case of required. (It was not required at all!). As a summary, we fully recommend staying in Perugia! and specially in Villa Nuba.

Best Place to Stay in the Best area of Italy
Villa Nuba is an excellent choice for many reasons. Giuseppe and Elga are extremely helpful and very friendly. They helped to make our stay an enjoyable experience. The apartment was clean and comfortable and well-equipped. The swimming pool and seating areas provide relaxing (and quiet) places to read and be in the sun, and to look at the gorgeous view from the apartments. The surroundings are beautiful; it overlooks hills and olive groves. The property is well away from the main road, so there is very little noise. Grocery store, pharmacy, excellent pizzerias and café, and a bank with an aTM are nearby. Within easy reach to the historic center of Perugia. Umbria is the best place to experience Italy. I have been to Rome, Venice, Florence, Milan, Lake Como and several places in between in Italy, and Umbria is by far the best. It offers a rich history, beautiful hills and forests, and the best food anywhere. Perugia is the place to be located, given its access to public transportation for trips to the hill towns in Umbria and to other places in Italy. Many people think that Tuscany is the place to be, but in our experience, Umbria offers much more. Perugia is a wonderful city with several self-guided walking tours of neighborhoods that are interesting and beautiful. It has wonderful museums and churches, stunning architecture, great restaurants (some of which give discounts to Villa Nuba guests), and great music and entertainment. Since we did not have a car, we relied on public transportation, and were able to easily make trips to assisi, Spoletto, Spello, Todi, Orvieto, and several other hill towns. We love Umbria and Perugia. Villa Nuba is the best place to stay in Perugia, which is the best place to be based in Umbria, which is the best place by far in Italy. So I can highly recommend Villa Nuba. It greatly enhanced our vacation in Umbria.

Nothing supersedes the true "sense of welcome" when you visit someone's home (country). Giuseppe did more than help us feel genuinely welcomed when we arrived...As we said our good-byes, Giuseppe made us feel we had made a friend for life! I migliori auguri alla famiglia Nuzzaci!

A little piece of heaven in Umbria
Villa Nuba provided an excellent place to stay while visiting Italy. We stayed for four wonderful weeks in the smallest of the three apartments, which was perfect for two people. The apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, and perfectly comfortable. The patio, swimming pool and cabana provided beautiful places to relax and to hang out with other guests and with Giuseppe and Elga, the couple who own and manage the place. Without a doubt, Giuseppe and Elga are the friendliest, nicest and most helpful people we have stayed with. Giuseppe has excellent recommendations for restaurants and is more than willing to help out with directions, calling taxis (even at 6 in the morning), and just helping you understand the sights and history of Perugia and the hill towns of Umbria. Villa Nuba is located on the northeast edge of Perugia in a scenic area with hills, farms, vineyards, and olive groves. Gorgeous views! Giuseppe met us at the train station when we arrived and took us first on a quick tour of the area. Everything we needed - groceries, pharmacy, pizza and bakery - were located closeby. We used public transportation while in Italy and found it very easy to do from Villa Nuba. Mostly, though, we walked into town, which takes about 25 minutes. It's a bit of a climb, but if you like good exercise walking with beautiful surroundings of old historic buildings with frequent views of fields and mountains, Perugia is the place to be. From Perugia, we found it easy to travel out of town with good access to buses and trains to Umbrian hill towns, Florence, Rome and Venice. Villa Nuba was much, much better than even the web site shows. It was like a little bit of heaven that Giuseppe and Elga have created for their guests. It is by far the best living experience we have ever had in our travels. Villa Nuba has our absolute highest recommendation. We will stay there again without hesitation the next time we come to Umbria.

Umbria Perfecto!
Villa Nuba was the absolutely perfect home base for touring Perugia and the wonderful towns of Umbria. This gated villa with a beautiful swimming pool and totally charming apartments was terrific. Our Host, Guiseppe, did a terrific job. First, he picked us up from the train. Then he spent another 40 minutes orienting us to Perugia. Finally, he did a great job orienting us to the features and appliances in the villa. In the above and beyond category, Guiseppe's father assisted my wife by arranging a dentist to attend to an emergency situation that developed during our stay. Overall, it was a magnificent visit!!

Beautiful, Relaxing and Peaceful
My family and I had the best week of our holidays in Perugia. After travelling from australia and staying in hotels for 3 weeks it was wonderful to arrive at Villa Nuba and have some quality family time. The owners (Giuseppe and Elga) greeted us at the electric gates and showed us our beautiful apartment, where they had a welcome basket full of food and wine waiting for us. Giuseppe then went on to explain the places of interest around Perugia and where the supermarket, bakery and restaurants are. As this was our first time in Umbria, he also told us what other towns we must visit during our stay. We visited Gubbio, Assisi, Deruta (famous for its lovely ceramics), Perugia and the Perugina Chocolate Factory, which is on the outskirts of Perugia. It was great to do a little sightseeing everyday and then return to the pool for the rest of the day. Villa Nuba is only a 15 minute walk to the medieval centre of Perugia and only 3 minutes from a supermarket where our daughters would shop for what they would cook that night. We then ate outside at our private table and most nights we would meet up with a lovely couple from Manchester and share stories. As Guiseppe and Elga live on the property they would join us and make sure we didn't need anything and that we were ok. Every night we would sit on the balcony and listen to the singing and music from a nearby festival in Perugia. This lifestyle beats working anyday. This really was paradise for us and we can't wait to return. Thank you Giuseppe and Elga. You are a lovely couple and you generously share your home with strangers and look after us as if we were family. We are eternally greatful for that and I wish you all the best health and happiness until next time we meet.

Hello Giuseppe and family, What can one say about our host - magnifico!! Many thanks for the personal, whirlwind convertible tour of Perugia to help us get acquainted with your marvelous city upon our arrival. And the advice on towns to visit in Umbria. Our time spent at Villa Nuba was so relaxing and made easy - with a very welcome basket of delights, afternoons spent swimming at the pool and long chats about life over wine in the evenings. It was our childrens's favourite spot in Italy and we hope one day to return (perhaps for the Jazz festival) Grazie, Julie, Tom, Hunter and Jake

Ottimo soggiorno!

A MUST STAY with GREAT HOSTS
We travelled by car through Italy booking accommodation as we travelled. The evening before leaving for Perugia we sent an email to enquire about accommodation, following the great reviews we read on Villa Nuba. We received a quick and friendly response. Upon arrival the host Giusepoe met us at the gate as we were a little lost. He welcomed us as old friends showed us around and took us for a quick tour of Perugia so we could orientate ourselves. All we read on the reviews was true! Great place, close to the action but far enough for peace and quiet. Walk or bus to Perugia main square, visit the places Giuseppe suggest, eat at his suggested restaurants you won't be let down. We highly recommend Villa Nuba ENJOY!!!

Wonderful stay at Villa Nuba
We had read the previous reviews about Villa Nuba and can only second every good thing that has ever been said about them! The villa itself was lovely, the pool area wonderful, the welcome basket really appreciated and Giuseppe was just AMAZING! Nothing was too much to ask of him, from arranging taxis, to recommending day trips and places to visit, to the 'gold card' he has organised for clients to get the best offers in restaurants and shops. The location for us was great - it was about a 20 minute walk uphill to the centre of Perugia, but we did cheat a couple of times and get the bus that was just at the end of the road. And make sure that you visit the local bakery for breakfast - the pastries were literally to die for! This really was the perfect place to spend a holiday - we only wish that we could have stayed for much, much longer!

Fun times in Perugia
Although we had printed directions from google maps, had a GPS AND followed the directions provided by Giuseppe, we still managed to get lost and had to call for help. Elga came to our rescue, finding us waiting outside a nearby flower shop. Those darn one way streets!!! We followed Elga to the apartment and while one couple unpacked, the other went grocery shopping with Giuseppe. Upon our return, we opened the bottle of wine that was provided, settling in for the evening on the outside patio while Giuseppe provided advise and directions to sites and restaurants. What a great start to our three week holiday in Umbria! We were two couples travelling together and we stayed in the del Perugio apartment for a week. Both bedrooms were of a good size, comfortable and there was plenty of closet space. The livingroom/dining area provided plenty of space for two couples to spread out their belongings. Although a TV was provided with several English stations – we did not turn it on during our week long stay. The kitchen was well equipped and we made several meals, eating breakfast each morning on the outside patio while listening to the birds and welcoming visits by Pato, the resident cat. After a day of touring, we welcomed the solitude at the villa – evenings were very quiet and restful enabling us to regroup before the next day’s adventures. Giuseppe and Elga were very welcoming and hospitable. They genuinely cared, going the extra mile ensure their guests’ stay was comfortable. Villa Nuba is well situated for exploring Northern Umbria. There are two grocery stores, a bakery and several ATM machines all within walking distance. And the old quarter of Perugia can be reached after a 20 minute walk, uphill both ways!

Perfect escape...better than expected!
The swimming pool is kept clean all time. We could hardly keep away our daughter (6) from the pool. It also provides a nice view over the landscape...a perfect place to escape, relax and enjoy!

A home a way from home
My wife and I just gor home from our trip to Perugia Italy and our WONDERFUL stay at the Villa Nuba. Our host Giuseppe Nuzzaci could not have been more accommodating. From the moment we arrived at the Villa he was there to help, he drove us around Perugia to show us were to shop, how to get to the center of town, were to park and what restaurnats to eat at. He also presented us with with a Villa Nuba gold card that allowed us discounts at some of the better restaurants and shops. We stayed in the two bedroom two bath Villa that was just plain TERRIFIC, a full kitchen, king size bed in the big bedroom, wifi and TV. Every day when we made our daily plans Giuseppe was there to help with directions or suggestions it was like having our own personal concierge. All in all a great value and a great experience.

Beautiful stay with a perfect host

Villa Nuba is AMAZING and Giuseppe is the best host!
My husband and I had an amazing stay planned at the Villa Nuba from March 30 to April 4. Let me start out by saying that the views from the Pinturicchio apartment with the terrace are absolutely breath taking! The apartment has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Dishes, cookware, tea pots, coffee maker, etc. which made cooking breakfast or your main meal a breeze. The fireplace is a wonderful touch too. We were given a list of restaurants, a discount card for dining, and when we arrived, Giuseppe went through all the features of this gorgeous apartment right down to the hand painted frescos on the wall and stars that gently glow on the ceiling in one of the bedrooms when you turn the lights out. If you need anything Giuseppe is there on the spot to help you. And in my case, help me he did, he went above and beyond. On April 1 I had sniffles and sneezing, and thought uh oh…so I went with my husband to get tested at the local pharmacy for COVID. (which Giuseppe scheduled for us) Hubs was negative, I was positive. So, our lovely vacation was cut short right then and there. My husband got on a plane the next day and went home. I had to stay back by myself and was in quarantine for at least the next 7 days. And here’s where Giuseppe stepped up to the plate to help me more that I could have imagined. My reservation was until April 4 and I had to remain in quarantine until at least April 7. Giuseppe was able to extend my stay and that involved some juggling with existing reservations, which he was able to do to accommodate my extended stay. He also called the pharmacy to get my COVID testing done 7 days later, picked up and paid for home test kits, offered to pick up groceries, medicines and anything I needed to make my stay more comfortable. I even got a “good morning how are you feeling text” via WhatsApp since I was there by myself until I was able to test negative. It was such a comfort to know that Giuseppe was there for me. THIS is the big difference in staying in a hotel vs. a villa with the owner on site. So, if anyone is on the fence whether staying at the Villa Nuba is on your mind, do not hesitate to stay here! YOU WILL LOVE IT! Between the gorgeous views on the property, proximity to many small, quaint Italian towns and villages with great restaurants you can’t go wrong. I just wished that our vacation turned out differently but the Omicron variant got me, and I just had to roll with it. Thank you so much again Giuseppe for your help and kindness to make my stay as comfortable as possible at the Villa Nuba.

Perfect Family Getaway
We visited Villa Nuba for a 2 week family celebration for my 50th birthday. Having stayed at Villa Nuba twice before we knew it would be a perfect place for all the family. We were not disappointed and seeing Giuseppe again added to the enjoyment of our holiday. We rented all 3 of the units so we had the whole place to ourselves. The apartments are spacious and comfortable and furnishings very traditional. The pool area was for us the highlight, it really is a lovely area. The location is great too, close to supermarket and two lovely bakeries for morning pastries and coffee. We walked to Perugia every evening where you will be spoiled for choice for places to eat. It’s a beautiful town to visit. We took the bus to Assisi and Florence and had 2 fantastic days out. Giuseppe was also kind enough to sort out football tickets to the Perugia game where we met him and his son Lorenzo for a very entertaining evening. Villa Nuba is a great place to relax but there is also lots to see and great days out nearby.

Perfect place to stay with young kids
"I stayed at Villa Nuba for one week in May 2022, with my husband and 18-month old son. It is the perfect place to stay with young kids: our son absolutely loved the playground, and was forever standing by the door asking to go there! We had lovely warm sunny weather but the apartment stayed really cool inside, and the playground is shady in the afternoon and evening so didn't get too warm either. A travel cot (which seemed very comfortable) and highchair were available, which helped to reduce the amount of stuff we needed to bring with us. We didn't have a car, which wasn't a problem: the walk into town would have been easy for me and my husband by ourselves, but with our son in a pushchair we found it easier to take the bus, which leaves at the end of the road, and is very frequent. There is a well-stocked shop just around the corner which has everything you need. Perugia is a beautiful city, with lots to see: we particularly enjoyed the Rocca Paolina and the Porta Sole (where we sat for a long time enjoying the views and a rest while our son slept in his pushchair). The steep narrow streets of Perugia are not that easy with a pushchair, but it is manageable and keeps you fit! We also took the bus to Gubbio one day, which was very easy, with a direct and scenic bus leaving from the end of the road. Giuseppe was the perfect host: he popped around most days to say hello and check everything was fine, but without ever being at all intrusive. All in all a highly recommended place to stay!"

The Charming Giuseppe & Elga
We stayed for the month of May 15 and had a most enjoyable time. It met all our expectations with a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a jacuzzi. There was a washing machine, dishwasher and even basic provisions to get us started. Giuseppe gave us a comprehensive tour of the accommodation and also drove us to the outskirts of Perugia explaining where to buy provisions and where best to park our car. Bonfigli was spotlessly clean and well maintained. There was a BBQ area and a well stocked herb garden. One of the best features was the eco pool with no added chemicals and kept constantly clean. Giuseppe provided us with a 'discount card' for use in shops/restaurants as well as details of gardening events and a classical concert. Both Giuseppe and Elga can speak English and are always on hand to help with any enquiries. Andrew Worcester

Peaceful Perugia
For a small additional fee we were able to join our friends at Pinturicchio which they rented in September. The apartment was spacious and well appointed with a balcony and glorious views of the countryside. There was also a private terrace, a shared bbq area and a beautiful swimming pool area. Although quiet and secluded, part of an old farmhouse, the apartment was ideally located for exploring the surrounding area and visitor attractions such as Assissi, Spello, Gubbio and Perugia itself, which was within walking distance. Our host, Giuseppe was pleasant and helpful and happy to offer guidance on places to visit and good restaurants, where he had even negotiated discounted rates for guests. He was also on hand to drive guests to various sights and we participated in his organised wine tour to visit an organic vineyard and learn more about the very specialist wine production and of course taste some very good Umbrian wines. Altogether a very pleasant stay.

Charming and comfortable apartment in Perugia
My wife and two daughters and I spent a delightful week at Villa Nuba. The apartment was spacious and comfortable for the four of us with two bedrooms, bathroom, a balcony, kitchen, and living/dining room. It was hot for most of the week and we really enjoyed the pool. What made the week very special was Giuseppe and his charming family. We did not have a car, but Giuseppe gave great directions and suggestions for things to see in Perugia and places to eat and with his gold card many of them offered a discount. We particularly liked Osteria La Lumera which was in walking distance up the hill. We also hired Giuseppe to take us to some of the local Medieval hill towns (Assisi, Spello, Gubbio and Orvieto). These were fantastic and we very much hope to return to Umbria soon. We will certainly stay at Villa Nuba when we do.

Great Apartment for Families.

Great location, great host
Our stay at Villa Nuba was just wonderful. Giuseppe was a true host and showed us all the important venues in the area on our first day. After that he took the time to tell us all about Umbria. Unfortunately we only stayed one week, but we really wanted to stay longer in this amazing place! I honestly cannot name one thing that was not as it should have been.

Villa Nuba is everything ...
Villa Nuba is everything you could dream of for an Umbrian holiday. It's close to the city of Perugia but far enough away to be peaceful and picturesque. Our hosts were unbelievably hospitable-nothing was too much trouble. They live on site and were always willing to act as chauffeurs, tourism advisors, language interpreters and bargain consultants. The extras they provide-the welcome food hamper (great after travelling all day); the first trip to the supermarket;the Pilates lessons; the intimate knowledge of evrything and everybody in Perugia and surrounding areas were invaluable. We are already planning our return trip-and we've only been gone a week.

Convenience of a city, features of country villa
From the moment we arrived, we knew we had selected an exceptional property. It combines the advantages of a country-like ambience with a great location near the old city. Be sure to follow Giuseppe's detailed instructions for getting to the exact address, not your GPS, for the last mile or so. Giuseppe was a marvelous host, willing and able to help find the best places to visit, dine, and shop for groceries. A great location, especially If looking for a place within walking distance of the city, close to grocery stores and restaurants, and convenient for exploring Umbria and Tuscany. Thanks Giuseppe, you were a wonderful host. Without your help on the last day, we would never have been able to return our rental car and make it to the train on time. This is an exceptional property. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay
We spent about 4 days visiting our daughter who was studying in Perugia. This apartment is well situated right outside the city center. It's quiet yet convenient. The place is fully equipped and we didn't lack for anything. The owner was particularly helpful when a barking dog became an issue. It's nice having the owner on the premises. He gave us a tour of the city center as well as meeting us at a local gas station upon arrival to show us the way to the apartment (take him up on this offer -- place is kind of hidden). The owner made some great recommendations for restaurants. I would recommend this place -- clean and convenient. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Lots of room for two people.

A wonderful place very near Perugia
This is one of the most interesting place for vacation I've never found. In a peaceful area, a very confortable flat with all you need: a kitchen, a large sitting-room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. There is also a free parking inside and if you need information you've just ask to Giuseppe: he's always ready to reply to all your questions regarding something to visit, something to eat, to drink and so on... In few minutes you're in the center of Perugia, a fashinating city, full of history and naturally shops!

Very very nice experience!

With a sense of the countryside but close to the city
Me and my family stayed at the "del Perugino" apartment at Villa Nuba and we really loved it! The apartment is on the ground floor with the garden outside and has its own terrace where you can sit to eat and talk until late at night watching the lovely sunset. The apartment is spacious and the owner has put an effort in every detail for example the ceiling in the bedrooms where you can look at the stars while you fall a sleep. The beds are nice and you sleep well. We were feeling very welcome by the owner when we arrived! He took us on a tour around Perugia showing where to shop, take the bus, city car parks and the closest pizza restaurant. We also got a basket of some pasta and sauce to cook for one night and for one breakfast which was great since we arrived late on a sunday when the shop was closed. It made us feel very welcome. We used the kitchen a lot since we like to cook and it is well equipped. The knives in the kitchen would have to be replaced because they were not that sharp but otherwise it was ok. There are herbs right outside the apartment that we were welcomed to use for cooking which was very nice! The pool area was really great and our teenage daughters love to swim and play in the pool. There are alot of sunbeds and you can choose if you want to be in the sun or in the shade under the cabanas. There was a fantastic view of the surroundungs from the pool area since the estate is in a slope high up and the view and sunset from here is really beautiful! This is a place where you feel like home and where you can stay for a long time!

Excellent place to relax and to explore Perugia and Umbria
We have now been at home for 4 days and are already making plans for returning to Villa Nuba next August.

excellent in every way
The Villa Nuba experience is certainly the best one could hope for. The apartment is great, everything works as it should, and the location is fine as well. Most of all, we enjoyed the service of Giuseppe and his family, who made us feel at home the whole time. A really really recommendable place to stay while in Perugia.

Fantastic Vacation Rental In Perguia, Umbria

Villa Nuba in Perugia
Giuseppe was a wonderful host. He spent time with us on our arrival to share all his information and love of his city and the region. The Villa was very comfortable with wonderful views. Excellent bathroom, kitchen and bed rooms. There were no negatives, even the 25 minute walk to the city of Perugia was good exercise each day. I would definitely go back and spend more time at Villa Nuba with Giuseppe and his wife Helga.

Bella italia
We are return visitors to Villa Nuba and as was the case last time, we were not disappointed. Everything and more was on offer this time with the lovely gazebo just outside our apartment, near the pool area. The pool is wonderful to relax and play with the kids after visiting nearby towns in Umbria. We stayed in the larger of the apartments and the cleanliness and attention to detail, along with the nice touches of the welcome basket made it very special. Guiseppe and his lovely wife, Elga, were very welcoming and on hand should we need anything. Perugia is a beautiful town and surrounded by many medieval towns, most with 10-50km so the driving is manageable. We loved venturing out each day, to return to Villa Nuba to relax, enjoy the leafy surrounds and simply have a wonderful start to our Italian adventure. Our daily walk took us to the wonderful pasticceria for coffee and pastries and who can fault Pizza Magic nearby for their wood fired pizzas. All in all another great family holiday and we hope we get back there again.

Lovely New Years vacation in Perugia
My husband and I stayed at the Villa Nuba apartments for a week over New Years recently. We had a great time. The apartment (Bonfigli) was lovely, peaceful and comfortable. Our host, Giuseppe, was very welcoming and helpful. He drove us to and from the train station, gave us a very good orientation tour, and made sure that our visit went well. We especially appreciated his restaurant recommendations, which were wonderful. Near the apartment there is a supermarket and an excellent bakery, as well as a bank and a bus stop (from here we were able to take the "A" bus to the central bus station for day trips to Gubbio and assisi). We also walked frequently into the town center and spent a lot of time exploring Perugia. Our thanks to Giuseppe and Villa Nuba for making our visit so enjoyable!

Fantastic place in Perugia
5 of 5 stars We arrived at Villa Nuba after some hot days in Florence, with high expectations. We were not disapponited. We stayed for one week in the Del Pinturicchio apartment, which has high standard, two nice bedrooms, nice and well equipped kitchen and a terrace with a fantastic view. We are a family with to younger kids (2 and 5 years), and the pool was very important for our stay (and Perugia was then the hottest place in Italy). The pool is very nice, with nice view. The grocery is within easy walking distance, there are also a bakery, a pizzeria and a gelateria nearby. We went with the bus - the stop is also nearby - to the historic center of Perugia. You can walk, but it is uphill and with small kids and hot weather, we thougt it would be better to go by bus (or taxi, which is cheap). And Perugia is a very nice city (shop, eat, see). Add that Giuseppe is a perfect host, and we would not hesitate to go back to Villa Nuba.
