Ten goals of Villa Nuba charming villa-apartments rental in Perugia

There are 10 points which make Villa Nuba the ideal home for short or long stays in Perugia, in the beautiful Umbria:

1. Villa Nuba is a historic and typical Umbrian villa surrounded by pine trees, vineyards and olive trees, and it is ideal for short or long stays. The rent for the residences that the villa offers for unforgettable stays is not only cheaper than a hotel accommodation, but also much more chic.

2. The location is unique in Umbria: the villa is in fact situated in Perugia, in the countryside, but just a 15 minutes walk from the historic center of the medieval and Etruscan city, as well as from the illustrious “Università degli Stranieri” (University for Foreigners) and the prestigious Italian language school named “Comitato Linguistico.” Perugia is also at the center of Umbria and Umbria is at the centre of Italy, the ideal location … and the more convenient for those who want to have a foothold to visit not only Perugia and Umbria but all central Italy. And why not? Even a single-day visit to northern and southern Italy is possible.

3. There is no need to have a car: at only about 600 feet of country road there are all kinds of city services: bus stop, supermarkets, shops, pizza restaurants, pastry and coffee shops. You will stay in the typical Umbrian countryside but at the same time you won’t miss what every Italian city offers.
In Perugia Villa Nuba is the closest villa to the historical center you can rent.

4. The owners live in the villa and are always available for any need or to give advice to their guests – but, at the same time, discreet and respectful of their guests’ sacred privacy. Also this is unique in rents throughout central Italy.

5. The three luxury apartments are all romantic, charming, furnished with antiques and provided with all modern comforts, including high-speed wireless, jacuzzi, smart TV, DVD player, dishwasher, washing machines, independent air conditioning and fireplaces in every appartments. Perugino charming villa it's the most typical and charming place to stay for families in Perugia and del Bonfigli luxury apartment with a new private SPA room it’s the most romantic place to stay in Perugia.

6. Each apartment has its own private and well equipped patio.

7. The new salt-water pool is equipped with color therapy and it is open every year from April to October.

8. Relax area with gazebos ( cabanas), barbecue area, aromatic garden and parking inside the property and under the olive trees.

9. Safe playground for children.

10. The elegant villa-apartments are ideal for romantic couples as well as for families, groups of friends or extended stay in our charming Perugia. We are happy to be pet friendly.

Perfect Holiday! Peace and Tranquility in a Glorious Setting
Just returned from two weeks at this lovely property. We were two families (8 people in total) holidaying together. We received a wonderful welcome from Natalia and felt right at home. This is, just as other reviewers have said, a very special property and a wonderful area of Italy. The property is very well situated and we managed visits to Florence and Rome as well as lots of trips to the myriad of medieval towns in the local area. Umbria is unspoilt and certainly seems to be off the beaten track to the English Traveller - a bonus in our opinion! Natalia also had some wonderful recommendations for local restaurants (our favourite being the Pomegranate between Ripa and Pianella) and supermarkets (there is a fantastic hypermarket at the Collestrada) Our children (11 to 18) loved having the freedom to roam in the gated grounds and their enjoyment was enhanced by the family dogs, Zorba and Luca and the newly born kittens. We all loved the really good sized private pool and many a happy hour was spent just chilling there and drinking in the views. There was some internet access at this property, but it was very hit and miss and unsuitable for downloading anything - this wasn't a problem for us, because we didn't expect there to be any internet access and it actually enhanced our holiday as it meant that we were able to experience an `old fashioned' break without the kids being glued to their phones and IPads! :-) We did need the air conditioning in the property because temperatures have been unusually hot and those that weren't in the air conditioned bedrooms did suffer (although Natalia did everything she could to help by providing fans for the other two bedrooms) As we were two families travelling together our only small gripe was that it would have been good to have had two keys to the property, so that we could come and go more independently. All in all though, we had a marvellous time and felt that this property represented very good value for money. We have returned rejuvenated and revived and would strongly recommend this property to others.

Living in Perugia was everything I wanted it to be
My husband and I spent 3 weeks at Villa Nuba in October. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary there. The location of Villa Nuba worked out great for us because we like to walk and didn't have a rental car for the first half of our stay. It was nice being in Perugia but not in the city center. It only took us 10 minutes to walk to the best cafe in the morning and 20 minutes to walk into the city center. We occupied the upstairs apartment with 2 bedrooms and hosted multiple guests. Everyone commented on how spacious it was and the spectacular views of the hills. One friend even said he'd choose "staying in" over going out since our place was comfortable and romantic. Best of all was Giuseppe helping us out and making sure we had everything we needed. We also loved the villa cat, Pato! I cooked most days and enjoyed using the fresh herbs at the villa. It will be great to come back and stay again. Maybe next time we will visit when it is warm enough to use the pretty pool area and swim.

A beautiful place, perfect for families
Our family vacation got off to a perfect start at Villa Nuba in Perugia. Host Giuseppe Nuzzaci was the perfect guide to all things Umbrian. He has located the best restaurants in the area (not just in Perugia itself) and arranged discounts for his guests. Also the friendliest person we met on our trip, Giuseppe will do just about anything to help make your stay delightful. We were never disappointed by his recommendations. Villa Nuba is a 15-minute walk from the closest gate through Perugia’s medieval walls; and another 10 minutes gets you to the central square. We tried the bus, but walking or an occasional taxi worked best. The “Pinturicchio” apartment was ideal for our family of four: two bedrooms (one with queen bed, one with twin beds for the kids), spacious living room, modern bathroom and kitchen, and even a balcony overlooking the valley below the city. The pool was so refreshing after a hot summer day of walking cobble-stone streets. We would return without hesitation!

VIlla Nuba-what a wonderful experience!
Second week of May, my wife and I for five nights in the Pintoriccio apartment. Giuseppe is an attentive, knowledgeable host who helped on what nearby towns to visit, introduced us to the local stores, gave great advice when we wanted a trattoria instead of cooking for ourselves, and generally insured our stay was excellent. This apartment has lovely décor, a complete kitchen and great views of the countryside. Perugia has many attractions for the discerning traveler. One thing: avoid using GPS to find the place; follow Giuseppe's emailed directions closely and you can't go wrong. Stayed May 2016, traveled as a couple

Fabulous!
My husband and I are from Melbourne, Australia and we stayed in del Pinturicchio apartment for 3 weeks. The apartment was wonderful, quiet, spotlessly clean with fabulous views and a sparkling swimming pool. The best part though was Giuseppe who was fantastic! So helpful with suggestions on where to go, where to eat and where to shop. My husband and I are in our sixties. The walk into Perugia is quite steep (you can take the bus though) but we found a slightly longer but 'flatter' way - passing 2 bakeries that are 'musts', so not much hardship there! Giuseppe will direct you. Walking home through Perugia after dinner was no problem at all as it was mostly downhill. We cannot recommend Villa Nuba highly enough. Thank you Giuseppe for making our holiday so enjoyable. You were the 'perfect' host and we loved meeting little Lorenzo who was a joy and your beautiful wife Elga. We will visit you again. Ciao for now!

Wonderful holiday in Perugia
We have recently returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday in Perugia, staying at Villa Nuba. Giuseppe and Elga are kind and charming hosts, giving lots of very useful advice. We stayed in the Pinterucchio apartment. This has a terrace one side and a balcony the other from which we could enjoy views of the beautiful Umbrian countryside. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. The pool is exceptionally clean and it was great to come back from sightseeing and relax in the pool. Villa Nuba is perfectly situated for visiting Perugia and the rest of Umbria.we have no hesitation in recommending Villa Nuba and Perugia and hope to return one day. We were there during the Umbria Jazz Festival and Perugia was very lively-it is a great time to visit.

Above expectations, this place has everything.
We loved Villa Nuba. Our host Guiseppe was exceptional. He picked us up at the train station when we arrived (which was a nice touch and very helpful) and offered suggestions of day trips and places to go. He was easily accessible if we wanted any advice or assistance but never obtrusive. Our apartment was beautifully furnished, super clean and comfortable and had a great view. We used the pool and it too was very clean. The welcome basket was most appreciated too. It makes no sense to stay at a hotel when for less money, we can stay at this beautiful place in such comfort and with so much space. A big plus is that we could cook our own meals if we didn't feel like going out after a long day of exploring. We could walk to town or take the bus and we did both. There is a grocery store very close and other shops and restaurants. We will stay here next time we are in Perugia!

a home away from home
My 2 friends and I were tired after missing our connecting train to Perugia but perked up when we arrived at the front gate of the Villa Nuba and saw Giuseppe waiting for us with a big smile on his face. He made us feel at home right away and we fell in love with the Pinturrichio apartment as soon as we came through the front door. It is very large with an open living and dining area, two bedrooms, lots of windows, a spacious kitchen and bathroom and a huge balcony with a spectacular view of the Umbrian hills. The amenities provided are superb and include a welcome basket on the kitchen table, a jacuzzi tub, an in suite washing machine, a large selection of travel brochures and art guides for the local area and our own patio and table right outside our door. The grounds of the Villa Nuba are beautiful with olive and pine trees and potted flowers everywhere and the salt water pool on the property is a very welcome addition after a long day of touring. Giuseppe took us out on an orientation tour the first morning and showed us where to buy bus tickets, shop for groceries and gave us the names of good restaurants in the area. He also took us on a wine tasting trip to Montefalco and Toregiano and a day trip to the town of Gubbio. He is very knowledgeable about Perugia and was able to answer all of the questions we fired at him during out stay. Giuseppe and his wife Elga are wonderful hosts and we will definitely come back for another visit!

The best formula for visiting Umbria
We usually stay in 3 or 4 star hotels - but driving into an ancient city such as Perugia is a nuisance - so staying in the outskirts is the best approach - and Villa Nuba is as confortable and more spacious than any hotel. The owners are charming and helpful. The view from our rooms were breathtaking...and we visited both Perugia and several towns in Umbria and fell in love with the whole region.

We (three adults who don’t speak Italian) stayed in Villa Nuba’s Pinturicchio apartment for five weeks (mid-February – late March) and enjoyed our visit very much! The apartment was comfortable and nicely furnished, the view was beautiful and it was easy to walk into Perugia or catch a bus or train to nearby towns in Umbria and Tuscany. Giuseppe was a great host who stopped by regularly to be sure everything was perfect (it was!), answered our questions and provided advice on the best restaurants, shops and places to see. We shopped for local specialties like fresh pasta and vegetables and prepared them in the apartment’s well equipped kitchen. We used our fireplace nearly every night and we all loved the deep bathtub. Since the water is heated on demand, you never run out of hot water! Since I needed to work while we were there, I used the high speed internet connection - that worked out nicely. The weather in Italy in winter can be chilly but we were glad we went then – there were very few tourists. We recommend Villa Nuba and plan to return!

Both my husband and I just wanted to report on our wonderful visit to Villa Nuba. We stayed in the Del Perugino apartment for the month of June and it really was a home away from home. The location was perfect - a countryside setting just a short walk from the centre of Perugia, and in close proximity to the many hill towns in Umbria. The apartments are really luxurious and every amenity has been thought of. Guiseppe and his parents are wonderful hosts and were very helpful in all aspects of our stay. We may be back!

Could it get any better??...NO, it was perfect in every way!
We ended up extending our stay here because we couldn't bear to leave! This accommodation was just what we were looking for and we would have remained a month (or longer) if our travel plans didn't push us to move on. We are a family of 4 (13 and 9 year old children included) and we found ourselves feeling very much at home here, only with the comforts of being in a very fine rental accommodation. The kids got to choose a room each out of the four that were available, and we, fortunately, got one at the other end of the apartment with our own en-suite....privacy at last (much needed after traveling for so long!). The rooms were cool and blocked out the light when it was needed due to the large shutters on the windows/doors and, when the shutters were open, the views over the valley were idyllic. On a clear day you could see Assisi in the distance and the town lights sparkled during the evening. Down below our apartment was the large pool which came in handy when the days were hot. The positioning of the house and garden took advantage of the evening breeze so the air-conditioning units in the bedrooms were not needed, but there just in case. That was good to know. Natalia and Nazareno have thought of everything; spices and all your basics for the kitchen, shampoo and soaps in the THREE (!) bathrooms, detergent for the clothes washer and a little surprise for us to use or take home, a lovely token. We had the entire top apartment to ourselves, while Natalia and Nazareno lived below. This arrangement worked really well as they were there if we needed them and hardly noticeable at other times...probably because they were out tending to their 4 hectares of land and amazing vegetable garden (which we were encouraged to pick from)! As travelers from Australia we appreciated the accessibility to fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables from the garden and we enjoyed cooking them in the enormous kitchen (also with a view to die for) which was fully equipped with dishwasher and all the gadgets you could need. The only thing that we struggled with was how to disperse the rubbish/recyclables/organics, but with a bit of labeling on the bins this will be easily fixed. We enjoyed Perugia and all the beautiful hill top towns, all which were very easily accessible from Podere Compegno Piccolo as the super strada was only a few minutes away and linked everything together within about 20 minutes. To be in the country side, surrounded by sunflowers, glorious views and peace and quiet, yet able to access towns so readily, was a bonus. There is even a bus at the end of their street which will take you up into Perugia if you don't feel like driving. We will come back here, there is no doubt about that. Maybe for Umbria Jazz in 2015?! Natalia and Nazareno thank you again for your generous and warm hospitality. Ci vediamo!

Laura, Mauro, Gennaro, Anna, Guglielmo, Palma.

Excellent Stay
We spent a week at Villa Nuba and had a wonderful stay. Giuseppe couldn’t have been more helpful including meeting us in Perugia to help us find the villa and giving us a quick tour in his car to help us familiarise ourselves with the local area. The Villa was immaculately kept and the town of Perugia [a 20 min walk away] was wonderful. A great experience.

Villa Nuba was more than we expected. Clean, spacious, charming apartment with a beautiful view from the balcony. The price was more than reasonable for this 2 bedroom suite and we felt like we were spoiled by the accommodations. We highly recommend this to anyone staying in Perugia.

Best place to stay in Perugia
My wife and I spent the month of May this year in Perugia at “ The Charming Villa Nuba Apartments.” We had a wonderful time and we think Villa Nuba is the best place to stay in Perugia - a great value. We rented the Bonfigli apartment. It was bright, spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated with many special details. It consisted of a bedroom with a king-sized bed; a large living room with dining table, cooking area and sitting space; and a bathroom with a WC, tub, shower, and washing machine. The bathroom was quite special - the tub is an oversized Jacuzzi spa-tub with mood lighting and the shower has multiple jets and a steam function. The kitchen was adequately equipped for cooking light meals. The seating area included a working fireplace. The outdoor spaces were wonderful. Villa Nuba is very well located - about 1 mile from the historic city gates. It’s a very short walk to a grocery store, a wonderful bakery, two pizzeria, and the city bus stop. For most of our stay we did not have a car and we used the bus system all the time. It was easy, convenient, and inexpensive. Perhaps the best feature of Villa Nuba is the owner/proprietor, Giuseppe, who lives with his family in the Villa. He worked above and beyond our expectations to ensure that we had the best possible experience in Perugia. When we arrived, he greeted us with a welcome basket of foods including pasta, pasta sauce, crackers, a bottle of wine and other snacks so we could settle in without having to go out to a restaurant or to the grocery store. Then he took us in his car on an orientation tour of central Perugia, pointing out things like the grocery, pharmacy, bus stops, best routes to the sites, etc. He was amazingly helpful in every way throughout our stay and I’m sure he’s the same to all of his clients. Villa Niuba is the best place to stay in Perugia. We hope to get back there again soon.

Great place, friendly atmosphere
I stayed in the del Pinturicchio apartment with two bedrooms, large living-room, kitchen and bathroom. The accommodation was spacious, well-appointed and reasonably well-equipped. A very quiet location with a nice view of the surrounding hills. Only 20 minutes walk into the city centre (of Perugia), or 5 minutes to the bus stop. This is a wonderful base for visiting all the great towns of Umbria, provided you have a car. And the villa offers you a space to park an Italian-sized car! Best feature of all is Giuseppe, who together with the family is the owner and majordomo of the apartments, and lives right there. He is friendly, helpful, and full of good advice on where to eat, what to drink, and so forth. If you want to feel at home when you are away from home, this place is for you. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great location, great host
Our stay at Villa Nuba was just wonderful. Giuseppe was a true host and showed us all the important venues in the area on our first day. After that he took the time to tell us all about Umbria. Unfortunately we only stayed one week, but we really wanted to stay longer in this amazing place! I honestly cannot name one thing that was not as it should have been.

Great location, beautiful area, friendly hosts
The appartment del Pinturicchio was great. Good size rooms and well equipped. It was clean and tidy. The villa has a great swimming pool and a nice playground with fences wich was great for our two kids. I would absolutely recommend this place to both families and others. The owners, Giuseppe and Elga welcommed us and made sure that our stay was perfect. Within walking distance (5 - 10 minutes) you find a few restaruants, supermarkets and bakeries. The walk to the city center is a bit longer (25 min) and quite steep, but it is a nice walk. If you get tired you can take the bus. The city center has shops and restaurants and some museums. The restaurants range from city food with a "hole in the wall" to Michellin quality. The price range is quite nice. Perugia is a calm and beautiful city and the surroundings include wineries and other ancient cities. A visit to some of the wineries in the Montefalco area is absolutely recommended. But be sure to also enjoy the relaxing pool area at the Villa. With local wine, fresh bread from the bakery and excellent crude ham from the supermarket you have all you need for the perfect holliday.

Great place to stay
My husband and I spent 6 days in the Pinturicchio apartment in Villa Nuba with another couple in the middle of March. We picked Villa Nuba after doing extensive research online about the best town to stay in for exploring Umbria. We wanted a place where we could cook some of our own meals and where we would have easy access to a washing machine to do our laundry in the middle of a longish trip, so Villa Nuba fit the bill in this respect. It did not disappoint. The location, as other readers have pointed out, is very convenient both for visiting Perugia and for accessing the highways to get to other towns in Umbria. We made day trips to Assisi, Todi, Gubbio (this one does require about an hour of nausea-inducing travelling round a mountain to get to the town, but it is worth the ride) and Lake Trasimeno during our stay there. The apartment actually looks nicer than it does in the pictures on their website. I think it has been fairly recently refurbished, everything is very clean and comfortable, and Giuseppe the owner has really made the effort to provide guests with every necessity. Beds were very comfortable though pillows were quite flat, but that seems to be commonplace in Italy. It was too cold for us to use the pool and bbq pit but we enjoyed watching the lovely sunset over Perugia from our terrace each evening - it was like having our own picture postcard view every day. Giuseppe is immensely friendly and helpful - when we arrived, he spent almost an hour with us just showing us around the flat, teaching us how to work appliances, and showing us on a map where we could go both for meals in Perugia as well as for day trips in Umbria. When the toaster caused the electricity in the flat to trip one morning, we called Giuseppe on his mobile and the problem was fixed almost immediately. He also took the toaster away in order to replace it with a new one. He is genuinely anxious to improve the villa (not that it needs much improvement I think!) and make it one of the best in its field, and he asked us for our feedback at the end of the stay and earnestly wrote down all suggestions, promising to look into them and implement them. I thought that was a fantastic attitude that more b&b/hotel owners should adopt. This is a great place to stay if you like to do your own catering on some nights (though there was plenty of excellent Italian food in the city, just a 5 minute drive from the apartment), don't mind cleaning up after yourself a bit (you can

Nice and comfortable place
Vila Nuba is a charming plave to stay for a relaxing holiday. It is very well located at the quite area, not far from Perugia old town. The apartments are well equiped, the bedroom is large. In the kitchen you can find everything what's needed. The owners are very friendly and helpfull.

My villa away from home...
Villa Nuba will not be forgotten. I travelled with my Mother, Aunt and Friend for her 65th birthday. We were greeted with a warm, familial reception. In fact, I feel like I have made friends for life! Giuseppe made everything easy. I was even able to email my kids back home every night because the villa has a computer that is available for guests. The pool, views, location, accommodation was first rate. Our apartment was clean, tasteful and because Giuseppe had thought of everything, it was easy to adjust to being so far away from home. We enjoyed visiting Assisi, Deruta, Todi as well as Perugia, with ease. There's even a shopping mall close by (Collestrada,), I felt like I lived there for our week and loved it! I will certainly go back, next time with my husband and kids, they too will be able to make great memories at Villa Nuba!

Dear Giuseppe Just a quick note to thank you for making our stay at Villa Nuba so enjoyable. The apartment was absolutely perfect, and Bruno thinks the pool was one of the two coolest things about the holiday - the other being the Gubbio funivia. We'll be back, I'm sure.

Myself and 3 sisters(seniors) just returned from 1 week at this apartment and it is hard to do justice to this place with words. The location was beautiful being situated on a hill overlooking all the beautiful Umbrian countryside but it is only 15 minutes walking distance from the centre of Perugia. The villa is a converted 1400's farmhouse and there are 3 separate apartments all luxuriously finished and furnished with wonderful antiques. It is spotlessly clean, has a wonderful new swimming pool and you have the use of a computer in a separate room. The thing that really impressed us was the hospitality of the host, Guiseppe and his lovely parents. Nothing was too much trouble and it absolutely made our trip. I would not hesitate to recommend del Pinturicchio to anyone - utterly fantastic. Ben Cotto Guiseppe.

Holiday to remember
If some holiday destinations leave a longer-lasting impressions with a deep seated desire to come back for more than our stay at the Podere Compegno Piccolo is definitely one of them. Seven of us close friends including spouses chose Podere Piccolo primarily because the detailed description of the property met our requirements along with its location for being only two miles away from the Perugia airport. On arrival at the house we were certainly not disappointed because it is located on top of a small hill and it overlooks beautiful Umbria valley. The house is spacious, comfortable and on the whole adequately and nicely furnished. Apart from inviting outdoor swimming pool and barbecue there is ample space for walk about with fruit trees and vegetables growing. The owners of the property Natalia and Nazareno have been extremely helpful in every way right from the beginning during the booking process as well as during our stay. Not only they provided very helpful information on the choice of local shops, restaurants and places to visit but on occasion volunteered to escort us to hard to reach places. As a group of friends we were unanimous in our opinion that both Natalia and Nazareno are very nice and hospitable people who go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. No doubt we would like to come back in the not so distant future. Surrindra & Ann Verma

Couldn't ask for a better location.
I brought my grandsons to Italy to discover their roots. We spent time with relatives on both sides. They treated us like royalty. I found my grandfathers tomb. My grandson came away with great experience of their Italian heritage.

Excellent.
A lovely villa in a quiet spot overlooking countryside but only 5 minutes drive to Perugia. From start to finish Guiseppe was extremely helpful. The villa was spacious with plenty of outdoor dining. The pool was an eco friendly one which was very refreshing on hot days. The area is complete with cabanas, sunbeds and a lounge area. Highly recommend .

Fantastic place to stay.
I had a fantastic family holiday at the wonderful Villa Nuba. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a relaxing holiday and a central point from where to visit Perugia and Umbria. Not only are the apartments well equipped, spacious and clean but they have excellent additional facilities such as the pool and BBQ. To top it off, Giuseppe is just amazing. He was incredibly helpful before we arrived, helping us to organise transfers and a cooking class in particular, and he was a wonderful and gracious host during our holiday. He couldn't have been more helpful. For us it was wonderful as he went over and above. My wife and I would definitely come back to stay here. Thank you Giuseppe!

A week in Villa Nuba
We stayed at Villa Nuba for a week the Villa was excellent close enough to walk into Perugia and great location for visiting other towns within Umbria. Giuseppe was an excellent host and could not do more for us, ordering us pizza the first night, taking us to collect hire car and of course advising us of what to see and do around Umbria. The pool for relaxing after a morning of touring with a nice glass of red. Would love to go back and stay longer, everything was good about this stay

Top place to stay
What a wonderful stay at Villa Nuba, Giuseppe and his wife were lovely. The accommodation was super and very spacious. Unfortunately the weather for us was appalling and so we were unable to use the lovely pool but we did manage to use the barbeque and sit outside one evening drinking wine and simply enjoying our surroundings. Giuseppe was particularly helpful and informative and a top host. We used his gold discount card a couple of times in Perugia which was stunning City. Only a 20 minute walk to the Centre from Villa Nuba – steep but well worth it! Many, many fantastic restaurants. We would happily recommend Villa Nuba, Perugia and the surrounding areas, Let Giuseppe give you the rundown on the must see things and do as few or as many as you deem fit. We loved our holiday and the weather really didn’t matter, I think most of Europe was having a bad month weather wise. Would we go back again? Yes!

This was our best experience in Italy by far.
First, an excellent location. Walking distance to all the amenities you might want and the picturesque old town of Perugia. Also close driving distance to the famous hill towns of Umbria and the Sibillini mountains. Close enough to be anywhere in Italy in a few hours actually if you could tear yourself away. The accommodation is excellent. Quite private, in beautiful grounds with a pool, bbq and a fantastic view. The apartment lacks nothing, and if you enjoy cooking for yourself has an excellent kitchen where you could potentially cook anything you could imagine. The very best bit however is the hospitality of hosts Guiseppe and Elga. Nothing seems too much trouble and your every need seems to have been anticipated. On arrival Guiseppe took us on a tour of Perugia showing us the way to get around and even taught us how to shop like a local. He also handed us the Villa Nuba gold card which not only provides a discount at selected establishments, but also ensures you are treated properly. And we certainly were treated properly whenever we used it. Even Pato made sure we were OK, visiting each day. I will echo the sentiments of others by saying Guiseppe and Elga are the Italian family you never knew you had. Their hospitality is legendary in my view. If you are looking for accommodation in the area its hard to imagine you could possibly do better than Villa Nuba. It's that good.

An Umbrian holiday with wonderful memories
A splendid villa situated in the green on walking distance of Perugia. Nothing was too much trouble for our host, Giuseppe, making sure that we had everything we needed for a relaxing week. At our arrival, there was a welcoming basket and in the fridge there was some water, milk and butter, so it wasn’t necessary to go grocery shopping right away. We also much appreciated that Giuseppe made a tour with us in his car to show us all the practical places in the neighbourhood: restaurants, a supermarket, a pharmacy, a bakery and a parking place near a town gate of Perugia. We were given the Villa Nuba ‘Gold Card’. With this card you can go to restaurants to be treated like real Italians and even get a discount. If you don’t mind to walk on steep streets to reach the city centre, you can go on foot from the house within 20 minutes. Unfortunately we had very instable weather (never seen during a summer in Italy for 50 years), so we could not take full advantage of the beautiful swimming pool and luxurious sun beds. But thanks to the rain we have had a couple of very pleasant evenings with our upstairs neighbours from Paris who we met there. And every night you are falling asleep under a marvellous starry sky. Grazie mille to Giusseppe, Elga en baby Lorenzo who made us feel like home. We would highly recommend this villa to families who want to discover Umbria. It has everything you need! Perfetto!

Great holiday at Villa Nuba
What a lovely place to go for a relaxing holiday. We spent a week here but could easily have stayed for weeks longer! The apartment itself was beautiful and equipped with more appliances and utensils than my own flat! The nearby supermarket and outdoor barbecue facilities at Villa Nuba were a fantastic way to enjoy locat food without having to go out. The weather was great while we were there and the salt water swimming pool was the perfect place to relax with a book and enjoy the sun. The location of Villa Nuba is brilliant - it is far enough out of the city centre to be quiet and calm yet Perugia is within easy reach as are many other Umbrian towns for day trips. Giuseppe and Elga are very welcoming and even showed us the important bits about town on our arrival such as the supermarket, where to park and eat etc. Definitely hope to go back at some point in the future - a great holiday location.

Villa Nuba-a wonderful "home" away from home!!!
Villa Nuba was our "home" away from home for a month. We used Perugia as our jumping off point for many day and over night trips. After a day of sightseeing, we always looked forward to going home to Villa Nuba. Everything that we needed was there. It was perfect for us. A short walk to the center of Perugia. But the views we had were of the country side. The best of both worlds! Giuseppe made our stay wonderful. Always ready for our questions about what we should see and do. Always ready to suggest something that we should see that we might have overlooked. This was our third trip to Italy. As good as the wine is, as good as the food is, the one thing that makes Italy for us is the people. And Giuseppe is at the top of the list. We felt so welcome at Villa Nuba. We had a wonderful trip in Italy, made better by Giuseppe !! Thank you Giuseppe !!!

We had a great time during a winter visit!

Spent a perfect week at Villa Nuba in July when Italy was experiencing record temperatures and the pool was therefore an essential. Giuseppe made our holiday special, being the perfect Italian host. He greeted us on arrival, took us on a tour of the local supermarket, pizzeria and city walls and gave us some top tips about what to do/not to do. I was worried that with two teenage children (aged 16 and 14) there would not be enough to do but with the trip to the last night of the Umbrian Jazz Festival, the venicular cable cars in Gubbio, the boat trip across Lago Trasimeno, the day trip by train to Florence and of course the retail therapy in Perugia itself, they were well entertained and had a fabulous time. The apartment was ideal with good facilities and very clean. We would definitely recommend it to any one.

Amazing hospitality, location and well worth a visit
We just spent 6 days at Natalia's beautiful villa and the entire family were all so sad to say goodbye to this gorgeous place and warm hospitality shown by our host. Natalia went out of her way to give us local advice and we were really impressed with the beauty of Umbria. The villa is within driving distance of some beautiful Italian villages and cities and we even made an awesome trip to the nearest beach. We enjoyed the fact that we didn't see another tourist for days at a time and were treated to picking and eating organic vegetables right from the garden. The house is very spacious with 4 large bedrooms and ample bathrooms and living areas. We made BBQs, ate outside and swam in the pool all day. Highly recommended.

Convience of a city, features of country villa
From the moment we arrived, we knew we had selected an exceptional property. It combines the advantages of a country-like ambience with a great location near the old city. Be sure to follow Giuseppe's detailed instructions for getting to the exact address, not your GPS, for the last mile or so. Giuseppe was a marvelous host, willing and able to help find the best places to visit, dine, and shop for groceries. A great location, especially If looking for a place within walking distance of the city, close to grocery stores and restaurants, and convenient for exploring Umbria and Tuscany. Thanks Giuseppe, you were a wonderful host. Without your help on the last day, we would never have been able to return our rental car and make it to the train on time. This is an exceptional property. Highly recommended!

Exceeded expectations by a million miles
We booked two of the apartments - the Pinturrichio and Bonfigli - for a week for an adult family group. The apartments were beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. The facilities and pool are every bit as fantastic as the photos on web pages - we enjoyed swimming and lazing by the pool, as well as several barbaques. The location is perfect, close to Perugia itself meaning a car wasn't strictly necessary and, unlike being in a more isolated location, it was easy for our family group to split up for an afternoon and do their own thing, or enjoy time together. The most wonderful, however, was having Guiseppe close at hand - towards the end of our stay my mother was taken ill and it was such a relief to have help to find a doctor and make the necessary arrangements, we really can't thank Guiseppe enough. We are very much looking forward to returning for what we hope will be a somewhat less eventful stay next year!

Charming and comfortable apartment in Perugia
My wife and two daughters and I spent a delightful week at Villa Nuba. The apartment was spacious and comfortable for the four of us with two bedrooms, bathroom, a balcony, kitchen, and living/dining room. It was hot for most of the week and we really enjoyed the pool. What made the week very special was Giuseppe and his charming family. We did not have a car, but Giuseppe gave great directions and suggestions for things to see in Perugia and places to eat and with his gold card many of them offered a discount. We particularly liked Osteria La Lumera which was in walking distance up the hill. We also hired Giuseppe to take us to some of the local Medieval hill towns (Assisi, Spello, Gubbio and Orvieto). These were fantastic and we very much hope to return to Umbria soon. We will certainly stay at Villa Nuba when we do.

Una piacevole riconferma
Come ogni anno abbiamo passato qualche giorno a Villa Nuba.

Wonderful Villa Stay in Perugia
We spent an amazing 3 weeks at Villa Nuba as part of an extended stay in Italy, and it was one of the best experiences of any of our trips. Giuseppe is a wonderful host – warm and friendly and enthusiastic about Perugia and the Umbrian area. He met us at the train station and we immediately felt welcomed and in good hands. We had a quick tour of Perugia (including the best chocolate and gelato shop in town!) before he took us to get supplies knowing that the stores would be closed the next day. We stayed in both Pinturicchio and the smaller Bonfigli, and found both apartments very well-appointed, spacious and a joy to return to after a day busy with sightseeing (loved the Jacuzzi!). We especially enjoyed having wine in the evening on the terrace of Pinturicchio with the spectacular view. The kitchens of both apartments are well-equipped – we fixed several meals and enjoyed eating dinner under the gazebo next to the pool. In fact, the apartments are SO lovely and comfortable that we decided to relax at the Villa instead of sightseeing on several occasions. Perugia is a fantastic base for exploring Umbria, both by train and car. Giuseppe has great advice on places to explore - one of our best lunches ever was in Montefalco, a town we would have missed altogether except for Giuseppe’s guidance. Elga offers Italian lessons and is a superb Italian teacher – it was wonderful to be able to work with her. We also enjoyed the very friendly people at the Cerquiglini Pastticceria, a short walk from the Villa, where we stopped most mornings for cappuccino and pastries. It’s the people we meet that add magic to travel, and Giuseppe and Elga are the magic in Perugia! We grew fond of both of them and plan to return again to meet the baby… Giuseppe – Thanks again to both of you for a wonderful stay at the Villa Nuba. We survived our bike trip in Apulia, and it was fabulous – just as beautiful as you said it would be.

Charming,relaxing and friendly
My family spent the first week of July, 2011 at the lovely Villa Nuba. We had the Pinturicchio Apartment and it was was as charming as described at the villa’s website. We travelled from Australia and after travelling for weeks and staying in hotel rooms, it was great to have a beautiful, well equipped apartment with plenty of room and a kitchen. The children cooked every night and we ate outside at our private table. The hosts (Giuseppe and Elga) are a lovely couple, that live on the property. We were greeted at the gate and then taken to our apartment where Giuseppe supplied us with a map of Umbria and as we spoke he marked his recommendations for restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets and of course gelati shops, as our daughter Bella must have gelati. As it was our first time in Umbria, Giuseppe also pointed out the towns we should visit and what we could see or do there. This was so helpful as we had no idea and we would have missed out on so much, if we had to find it ourselves. We visited Gubbio, Deruta (famous for their ceramics), Assisi, Perugia and of course the nearby Perugina Chocolate factory. Perugia is a 15- 20 minute walk from the Villa, and we were fortunate to be staying when a festival was on, so every night we could hear beautiful music and singing travel across the valley. We met and friended a couple from Manchester, who were also staying in one of the apartments. Most nights after dinner we would drink and share stories around the entertainment area of the Villa. Giuseppe and Elga would hear us and come and join in. It is so hard to leave such a wonderful, peaceful place and people who sincerely care for your hapiness, but we vowed we would return to Umbria and stay at Villa Nuba again. Thank you Giuseppe and Elga. Everyday, you live in Paradise and you unselfishly share it with strangers. If you ever visit Australia, you must visit Adelaide and be our guests.

"Perfectly Charming"
Our son was studying in Perugia and when we went to visit with other family members, we wanted more space than basic hotel rooms. The owners home, 3 apartments, and a pool are part of this well maintained, gated property. The rates are reasonable and the owner is terrific. Guiseppe is a gracious host and very helpful with everything you could possibly need during your stay. There was a welcome basket of food in the kitchen and he gave us a quick driving tour of the area. There is a wonderful bakery and grocery nearby. We walked everywhere the first 3 days and then rented a car for the rest of the week to explore the beautiful surrounding towns. The Villa Nuba is a great choice!

I spent a fantastic holiday in Italy with my family this August. We decided to stay in Perugia for five days because the position of the city is perfect to visit Tuscany and Umbria alike. We had a great time at Villa Nuba where Giuseppe Nuzzaci our host was welcoming us. He is a friendly, kind and funny young Italian who gave us many ideas what to see and where to eat. Giuseppe tried the famous Hungarian hot paprika sausages with us on the first night, that made a perfect match with the Italian Grappa… The Pinturicchio Apartment was as charming as described at the villa’s website and we had a great time there. We were cokking yummy dinners in the fully equipped kitchen and even though the weather did not permit a swim in the nice pool, our children tried the jacuzzi one night… It was good all of us could check the most important e-mails in the internet room. We devoted our first day to Perugia, then visited Gubbio, Arezzo, Siena and Cortona. Our guide book was the favourite Hungarian book of the family, Antal Szerb's Journey by Moonlight. In the book written in the 30s. The childhood friend of the protagonist became a monk in Gubbio in the monastery up on the hill, attached to the Basilica of St. Ubaldo. Thanks to Giuseppe we took the Funivia (cable car) to go up to the basilica, from where we so the most amazing view of the city and the scenery around. After 35 years we also went back to Arezzo, a dear town for us. In 1972 our Hungarian choir participated in the Concorso Polifonico and won two prizes in Arezzo. It was an exceptional feeling to show the places where we had sang decades earlier to our children. In Siena, we had great Italian coffee on the Campo and were lucky to see the marble mosaic floor of the Cathedral, since the floor is only uncovered for two months a year. On our way back from Siena we decided to go to Cortona for dinner. I had already visited this beautiful town before and took my family to the Pizzeria Fufluns where I had had good lunches and dinners 5 years ago. We not only had great bruschetti and tasteful salmone affumicato in salsa di pepe rosa, but also happened to watch the Italy-Hungary football match, sitting in the middle of a group of Italians… We were happy about the outcome… (Scusi!) We went up to Venice for two days from Perugia to finish a wonderful holiday. I can only promise to go back to Perugia again and surely stay at Villa Nuba again, because a lot of nearby towns remained unseen for us: Spoleto, Assisi, Todi, Montepulciano etc. Since Lake Trasimeno is so close we would like to spend a day at the beach next time. Beautiful cities, nice villa, friendly host and the best pesto we ever tried, made by our host’s mother and given us by Giuseppe as a present when we said good-bye. We are thinking of our summer holiday a lot and can only recommend Villa Nuba to others. (But the Pinturicchio apartment is only free at times when we are not staying there….)

Great place for a holiday
We stayed at Giuseppe's place in the summer of 2022, with our three kids (ages three and under). Our kids loved the small playground, the pool and the ceiling with stars in the bedroom. We stayed in the Pinturicchio apartment, which was clean, has several lovely outdoor seating areas and provided more than enough room for our family. Since our children are little and their naps etc made us a little bit less flexible on where and when to go out, we loved the fact that everything was very convenient: a well equipped kitchen and a washing machine in the apartment, a supermarket close by, many places to visit (also with kids) within 45 mins of less. I would absolutely recommend Villa Nuba to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, relaxed and convenient place to stay near a city. We loved it so much that our holiday for next year has been booked already!

Charming place in Perugia
"Nice appartment at Villa Nuba with a very nice swimmingpool in a quiet location but within walking distance from downtown Perugia - a charming city with lots of ambience and cosy restaurants. The kids appreciated the table tennis, and we even found a football court nearby. Friendly and helpful host. Upon arrival we were greeted with a basket of things for dinner and breakfast. Nice herbal garden and barbecue. I would definitely recommend Villa Nuba."

Perfect Family Getaway
We visited Villa Nuba for a 2 week family celebration for my 50th birthday. Having stayed at Villa Nuba twice before we knew it would be a perfect place for all the family. We were not disappointed and seeing Giuseppe again added to the enjoyment of our holiday. We rented all 3 of the units so we had the whole place to ourselves. The apartments are spacious and comfortable and furnishings very traditional. The pool area was for us the highlight, it really is a lovely area. The location is great too, close to supermarket and two lovely bakeries for morning pastries and coffee. We walked to Perugia every evening where you will be spoiled for choice for places to eat. It’s a beautiful town to visit. We took the bus to Assisi and Florence and had 2 fantastic days out. Giuseppe was also kind enough to sort out football tickets to the Perugia game where we met him and his son Lorenzo for a very entertaining evening. Villa Nuba is a great place to relax but there is also lots to see and great days out nearb
