Overbuilt and very sturdy 24’ (diameter) yurt construction with separate but attached wood bath house and a 12’ x12’ deck. The yurt has a kitchen and half bath inside. Artful, practical, and durable upgraded features such as a custom koa countertop, cast iron sink, insulation, wood framed windows, cedar wood accents, French doors, new high-quality appliances (propane stove with convection oven). Most of the yurt is open floor space. The yurt is insulated and well-ventilated to allow ocean breezes through. The skylight dome opens. The bath house has an antique claw-foot tub, shower, and large capacity washer and dryer. The deck is built like an outdoor room protected from rain and wind.

This home is solar-powered. No electric bills or high-power lines with full solar electricity and solar hot water. Propane (for stove) and county water not included in the monthly rent.

Photos show unfurnished space. Can be furnished, including with a single or queen bed, with a week's notice.

Pasture and orchards surround the house. Garden and pasture area are available for renters who want to grow food and/or keep animals. Surrounding pasture currently has goats, cattle, horses, and mules.

Feels remote yet is walking distance to Kapa'au town and only a mile from the coastline. Kapa'au is located 55 miles from Kona, 78 miles from Hilo, and just 23 miles from Waimea (Kamuela). Great swimming is a 15-minute drive. Kohala Coast beaches are a half hour drive away. Kapa’au is an artist town with galleries, restaurants, cafes and frequently live music in evenings. World class performances Kahilu Theater in Waimea. Good farmer's markets in the area.

6 month lease with option to renew. Solar electricity and hot water are included. Maintenance of these solar systems is included. Mowing is included. No pets. Pasture area available for livestock.
