This cute, sunny Colonial style cottage is located right by the beach and only 4 km from the small but growing, bustling seaside town of Savusavu. It's a 40 min walk to into town along our lovely seaside road. Otherwise, taxis and buses can be hailed at the bottom of the driveway (F$1 / 70c) and will have you there in 5 minutes. Hitching is also easy and safe. (I've been doing it for 12 years now!) Taxi from town to house is F$6,bus 70c
Savusavu is a truly friendly place where you will feel like home and be a local in no time, and you will soon find out why it is known as the "Hidden Paradise". You'll fall in love with it - it might be harder to come to but it's even harder to leave
and it is definitely well worth your while to make the extra effort and take the road less travelled away from the touristy spots and discover the REAL Fiji.
Savusavu Gingerbread Cottage comprises of 1 semi open queen bedroom and a large airy attic space, perfect for the kids or 2 singles. There's 1 bathroom, (sink, mirror, hot shower and toilet), a good sized living area and a fully equipped enclosed verandah/ kitchen and diner overlooking the beach and sea. At the rear is an outdoor laundry with twin tub machine and large sink. The garden has a table and chairs for 4, and a view and sunsets to die for.
BYO Gin and Tonic or a cold beer!
If you want to potter in the garden, plant herbs or veggies, you are welcome to do so.
This really is budget Tropical living at its best.
The place will be top to bottom cleaned before you come, and again after you leave, so there's no need to do a deep clean just before you go. :o)
There are papayas, passion fruit, bananas, and soursop to pick from time to time.
There's snorkelling directly across the road, and at nearby Split Rock - also on the other side of town. You are also only 2.5 walk from Daku Resort, with its friendly staff and facilities. JM Cousteau resort is 2 km away.
There are a good value selection of European style and local Indian and Fijian cafes and restaurants plus decent coffee shops in town, yacht club socializing, and daily farmers markets for your fresh fish, veggies and fruit.
Stunning walks, waterfalls, and world class diving are all easily accessible.
Savusavu has a squash court, churches of all denominations, a hospital, dentist, private doctor, hot thermal springs, and airport. Treat yourself to Reflexology or a Full body massage.
Your stay may co-incide with Yoga or other classes being held locally. There is parking off road, and steps leading up to the house.

There are often events on at the local Planters club, or the Yacht club where you will become part of the local crowd quickly. 3 Marinas add to the changing populus, and the people passing through our home!
