Porto Ercole itself is regarded as one of the most beautiful towns in Italy, while Porto Santo Stefano – the headland's other major settlement – is a twenty minute drive along the coast.
*There are around ten steps leading down to the front door here. It might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility.
