It’s the end of the line. Beyond this chalet, there’s nothing but Minnewaska’s protected preserveland. Spend days in New York’s prime rock-climbing location, exploring the drops and cliffs of the Shawangunk Ridge, or hitting Hudson Valley’s scenic hiking trails.
Settle back at the peaceful chalet, hidden in the trees. Perhaps light the fire pit and chill out under the maples. Inside, it’s Scandi-chic and minimalist, with a rustic stone fireplace with a wood-burning stove softening the living room. Polished wood floors and timber ceilings give it that chalet feel, and furry rugs add a touch of hygge comfort.
You’re very much out in the forest here, so woodland critters might make an appearance at the big windows, and there’s peace and quiet all around. But should you need a little more action, it’s just a ten-minute drive to the buzzing town of New Paltz, home to farm-to-table restaurants, indie boutiques and a thriving music scene.
*The chalet is in a super-quiet neighbourhood, so loud noise is strictly prohibited, and the hosts ask you drive slowly up the driveway
*A car is recommended to get around
*There is space for four to five cars on-site
*For guests staying longer than a few nights – the lawn is mowed on Mondays and rubbish can be brought down to the bins at the end of the driveway for early Tuesday morning collection
*If it snows during your stay, your host will arrange for a snowplough to clear the driveway
