Don’t be thrown by the neon pool umbrellas – everything else about this villa is pure class. Set in two square kilometres of gardens, with manicured lawns, fragrant herbs and towering cypress trees, it’s an imposing Tuscan country home, with two wings and a separate annexe. Found in Casino di Terra in Pisa province, its style could be described as “typically Tuscan”, with its whitewashed walls and terracotta tiles, bare stonework and exposed beams, making for a relaxing, traditional vibe. The two wing set-up makes it great for two families to share, especially as there’s a good mixture of double and single beds (including three rooms where you can choose to zip them together or separate them to suit). Throw in the pool area, with its outdoor shower and nighttime illumination, stone barbecue and a poolside portico for outdoor dining in all weathers, and you’ve got the makings of a seriously nice Italian holiday.
*The pool is open for use from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October
