Spend just a few moments relaxing on the balcony, drinking in the pretty-as-a-postcard views of Avlemonas Bay and you'll see why we love this apartment. The quiet character matches the idyllic setting – think soft blush-coloured walls, wooden ceilings adorned with beams and a mix of classic and contemporary furniture. Whether you're digging into breakfast of yoghurt and greek honey around the dining table, watching the boats go by with a glass of wine in the afternoons or dozing off in the comfortable bedrooms after a long day, it's hard not to feel right at home.
One of the most picturesque villages on Kithira, Avlemonas is on the eastern part of the island yet still within driving distance to all the beaches and landmarks on both coasts. Even better is that tavernas, coffee shops and beaches are within walking distance – our favourite spot for a swim is the Baths of Venus, only a two-minute walk away. There's no beach, but the rocks are an excellent place to lay in the sun and cool off in the clear blue waters of the Myrtoan Sea.
