With history and nature at every turn, Greece’s Halkidiki region offers a wealth of activities in its turquoise waters and lush greenery. One of its ancient villages, Ouranoupoli, is surrounded by a thick forest on one side, and a fantastic beach on the other for swimming and fishing. Visit its Byzantine Tower before taking a cruise to Mount Athos – but don't worry, this will all come easily when your villa is a six-minute drive away.
Modern, angular, and with fantastic use of glass, the exterior doesn't quite have the whitewashed walls and blue tiles you might be expecting. As you approach, you’ll pass over a well-kept lawn (perfect for picnics) and stone patio on the way to your heated plunge pool. It's certainly worth pausing here for a second while you pour a glass of wine at the alfresco dining terrace and admire the views of Ammouliani Island.
When you’re ready to head indoors, modernity awaits yet again. We love the sliding doors where you can enter into a bright, sophisticated sitting room. With a wicker armchair and soft flowing curtains, this space has a zen-like quality that you’ll truly come to appreciate after a long day out hiking these striking landscapes.
