While over in the bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms, curated art and splashes of azure blue add layers of interest and style.
But it's outside, hopping between the vast palm-fringed terraces and one-of-a-kind saltwater pool, where we think you'll be spending most of your time. Sneak away to the shady pergola for a cheeky siesta – the soft burbling of the contemporary water feature should help you drift off nicely. And when it's time to get your ensemble together, that covered veranda (with heaps of room for you and some guests) has sundowners written all over it.
When the sea finally lures you in, Comporta's shores, backed by wild grass-tufted sand dunes (just over one kilometre away), deliver all the cool, beach-shack vibes you're chasing. Or, for a complete change of pace, hop in the car for a day out in Lisbon – it's closer than you think.
