You’re just a few footsteps from the crystal-clear water of Lake Garda with a stay at this apartment in Desenzano del Garda. Within walking distance, in the town itself, you’ve got a castle, the ruins of Roman villas, pretty old churches and a slice of lakeside beach. Plus, from the quaint little harbour, boats and water taxis leave to the other scenic towns that dot the shore.
The first thing that grabs you as soon as you step inside is the view from the living area’s big windows. The vista of red-roofed houses leading to the shores of Lake Garda takes pride of place as if it’s a work of art hanging on the wall. Lightwood floors and white walls keep things feeling bright and the glass dining table sits in a particularly sunny corner, surrounded by windows. There’s plenty of room to prep meals in the open kitchen, thanks to a wooden breakfast bar. A little, unfurnished balcony provides a space to step out and breathe in the fresh, lake air.
