Jacky's place is an excellent way to enjoy what a relaxing caribbean vacation is all about - peaceful surroundings, great accommodations, beautiful weather, beautiful water, beautiful people and opportunities to snorkel from the dock, hang out on the dock, or hangout on the porch listening to the lapping of the sea on the shore and viewing the boats on the water... What is not to enjoy? We look forward to our next trip to paradise! Maybe next Wednesday...

I have been renting in the caribbean for a number of years and I have never met anyone as wonderful as our host at Chai Light Villa , then Jackie Silver. She and her husband Ed thought of everything for the traveler just doing carry-ons. The house was exactly as pictured, and not a thing out of place. Clean, uncluttered and perfect for 6 adults. The kitchen had anything you could possible want for cooking. Jackie even bought sun hats for all of us, in case we forgot. Besides having the frig stocked with food for breakfast the next day. WOW. The water off the deck is beautiful for snorkeling and some really great eating if you know how to prepare conch and snails. We did. The property is very lovely as are the owners. The island is also beautiful and cleaner than most places in the US. Please tell anyone about this review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's keep it a secret!!!!!!!!!!

Villa Chai Light? Eureka! Congratulations people, you've finally found her! This 'little gem' of a retreat sparkles in the molten-gold Caribbean sun. Nothing is neglected, nor over-looked, or forgotten; this includes umbrellas, sun-block, bug repellent, flash-lights, even sugar to feed the dainty yellow breasted Bannaquits that delicately flutter in the warm sunshine (right outside the front door - on the balcony, to be exact). Yep, Chai Light has it all! As you step into the Villa, you'll know, immediately, that you've truly 'arrived' at your Caribbean home-away-from-home paradise. The magnificant and marvellous Miss Jacky has absolutely everything covered. Trust me when I tell you that Villa Chai Light will revive the body, and mind, and spirit. So, then, there's nothing more to add except, "ENJOY!!!!! "

The villa was super nice and clean and a wonderful place for our family with kids. Jacky went out of her way to pre-load the fridge with some food. It was so nice being right on the water. We spent countless hours on the upper deck and on the dock, catching hermit crabs in the rocks, and snorkeling right out front. The location was conveniently close to the resort/marina, but yet had plenty of privacy. Besides just hanging out at the villa, a couple of our favorite things on Virgin Gorda were renting a dingy at the resort to tool around north sound, and visiting saba rock for happy hour and burgers.

Our Family Reunion with children, teens and adults was great fun at Villa Chai Light. Jacky thinks of EVERYTHING and is the most helpful and concerned host. The house is immaculate, beautiful, well-laid out, and equipped with every single thing you could need. Snorkelling off the dock is superb, the boats coming and going are always interesting, and a brief saunter down to the Leverick Bay shops lets you find a pool, a beach, dinner, a drink, a party, or stilt dancers! Depending on when you go. This place allowed us to have the Holiday of Lifetime. Perfect.

My family and I have had the good fortune of being able to travel frequently and year after year we find ourselves drawn to the islands and their beauty. As such, we have stayed in 5star resorts and private homes so, we have many comparables. We have found that you just cant beat private homes and in particular, Villa Chai Light. Everything that you could possibly want, or need, is there. The home itself is immaculately kept, the layout is perfect for families, and the views are wonderful. While planning our trip, our host Jacky couldn't have been more helpful. She arranged for our jeep rental and made certain that it was waiting at the docks when our ferry arrived. She advised us as to the islands best beaches and restaurants while giving an "insiders" perspective. Truly, I have never had a more perfect host anywhere. Jacky's warmth and fantastic home will make Virgin Gorda a repeat destination for you. Don't miss it.

I knew I was heading to tropical paradise & expected to unwind & escape the winter. What I didn't expect was how completely I would sink into the native culture & succumb to the charms of Chai Light & of my hosts. I normally 'devour' destinations --new adventure is my definition of travel & tho fun I sometimes find myself a bit exhausted upon return.. This trip was different & I invigorated but still feeling Island attitude for weeks! My friends & I didn't crack any of the books we brought, play any games we intended, or watch any movies we'd recorded. What did we do? Sunset on the private dock with happy hour drinks watching "boat t.v." and enjoying the amazing parade of vessels of all typesmaking their way to safe harbor. Morning we'd wake up by ambling down to the dock & jumping into the warm water with our snorkels & fins to visit our favorite fish & marvel at the brain coral. Sometimes we'd walk down the hill to Leverick Bay Resort for a leisurely diner & to hang with the locals & charter boat crowd--several times partying with the Jumbies (check them out!) What I loved about this location & the home was that it was close to "action" but set apart from a typical tourist environment--perfect noncommercial vacation. Highlights when we ventured: Anagada was a great charter right from Leverick, good snorkeling & amazing lobster lunch .The Baths were serene & dramatic & we spent several afternoons swimming thru the caves then enjoying sunset from the restaurant up top. Spanish Town had a few nice shops & good live music at night in a safe but fun atmosphere. I didn't feel a need to plan any activity, we just did what we felt when we felt like it -several days lounging at Chai Light just "being". The hosts are knowledge & helpful. The island & is calm & inviting. The water is as blue as any Chamber of Commerce postcard I've ever seen. The waves lapping on the shore cooing me to sleep were better than any "mood" CD I've ever tried. I'll be back.
