BRAND NEW 30-FOOT POOL AND PALAPA. WATERFRONT HOUSE WITH FULL KITCHEN AND GREAT ROOM. NO ADDED FEES. BOOK NOW!
Discover Roatan's East End. Escape to picturesque Caribe Point Bight. It's one of the most pristine, unspoiled areas of Roatan. The island's best diving, snorkeling and kayaking is right here. You'll totally enjoy our panoramic views of the sea, reef, hills and mainland mountains.
This unique nautically decorated large one bedroom boathouse sits right over the water. Our property and surrounding woods has lush tropical flora for getting in touch with nature; paths and trails for hiking, exploring and jogging; and a dock for swimming, floating or exploring the beautiful coral clusters.
We have 6 sit-on-top kayaks that are included free with your rental. They are great for exploring the lagoons, reefs, restaurants, nearby villages and mangrove tunnels built by the Payan Indians. You can kayak to nearby restaurants and grocery stores. Kayak up and down the coast, stopping to snorkel along the way.
DIVERS - you will enjoy the boutique diving - personal service of getting picked up at your own dock and taken out to explore our many fabulous east end dive spots. Can't dive? You can easily get certified or do a "Discovery Dive". We can arrange water taxi pickup, a sailboat excursion to Port Royal or other islands, a fishing trip or whatever activity you want. And after a full day, you'll rest comfortably upon Egyptian cotton sheets in a new queen bed. We also provide a local cel to use while here, so you can sleep easier knowing family can reach you.
The kitchen is fully equipped right down to wine glasses, along with satellite Directv, wifi, books and games.. Fresh seafood is always available from the local fishermen. We also have a local restaurant (Hole in the Wall) that will provide free boat transport or deliver meals.
A large veranda overlooking the sea is a great place to enjoy that first cup of morning coffee, watch the tropicals and starfish, read in the hammock or celebrate the sunset.
We've been diving all over the Caribbean and could have moved anywhere in the world. However, we chose Roatan and specifically Caribe Pointe Bight for its unmatched beauty, and the spectacular reef snorkeling and wall diving right at the entrance to our bight. It doesn't get any better than this!
Our weekly rate of $850 for two people (3rd person is $25/night) includes a kayak for each person. There are no extra add-ons or fees - we do not charge anything additional - no cleaning fee or electricity surcharge. You'll have everything you need and more to assure a relaxed, hassle-free . Please email for full details about booking this unique hideaway or visit our website. We've dropped our rates to fill our calendar. We also have a 2BR 2BA villa on the property that's waterfront but 30 steps up from the sea and only 5 steps from the pool. It has awesome views of the reef and mountains. Contact us today!

We stayed 6 weeks and enjoyed a fun, relaxing vacation. We stayed in the boat house so our backyard was the Ocean. We did a lot of cooking and appreciated having everything we needed. The pool is beautiful. I swam almost every day and while it is not a lap pool I was able to circle swim and get a lot of exercise. The weather was rainy but we still kayaked almost every day. We loved kayaking to other bights through the mangrove tunnels. We did rent a car but returned it because the roads were so bad due to the rain. We really needed a four wheel drive. Our host and friends were gracious to let us ride with them when they were going to town for supplies. We enjoyed having the fishermen arrive at our doorstep to sell us lobster and fish. What a treat! My husband also scuba dived and the boat would pick him up right outside our door. There were also water taxis and land taxis that would take you wherever you needed or wanted to go. It was a very relaxing, enjoyable vacation even though we could have used more sunshine. It was very quiet so if you want the night life, this is not the place for you. We did miss having a beach that we could walk to, but we could kayak to small beaches and snorkel right off our deck. Marcia and Dennis were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. We are missing it already!

If your looking for a quiet comfortable place to stay on Roatan Marcia and Dennis have the place. My wife ,son and I had a wonderful week of snorkeling and enjoying how quiet and beautiful their home is . Sitting on the patio whatever the weather was like was a pure delight. The view of the bay in the evenings is incredible. The Kayaks give you great access to incredible snorkeling and were great fun to play with in the waves at the entrance to the bay. We will definitely be back for more

Marcia and Dennis (& Shay) Thank you so much for welcoming us to your patch of paradise. We enjoyed every moment of our trip and look forward to returning in the future. Your informed advice made it easy for us to feel confident in our treks and adventures around the island. When we were not out exploring, we truly enjoyed lying around on the dock, sitting in the cool breeze on the porch, feeding the fish right outside our door, and, of course – snorkeling the beautiful wall of reef just a short paddle away. Thank you for your hospitality!

My husband, 2 daughters (13 and 16) and I spent 8 days here over Christmas break 2013. Had a fabulous time ! Very comfortable and clean house with an amazing veranda. We loved sitting out watching the hummingbirds in the morning and watching the sun set in the evening... spent evenings out there too! Dennis and Marcia are the perfect hosts... very helpful and informative when needed but if you don't need them, you wouldn't know they are there. We loved the out of the way location, but close enough to anything else you might want to do. We rented a 4X4 and had no problems finding our way around. Marcia can hook you up with a water taxi as well to tour the local coastline. Great snorkeling and kayaking right there in the bight. Loved it!!

Everything was perfect! Marcia was the perfect hostess for us, She didn't bother us, which is what we prefer , the boathouse was amazing, spic and span clean, REAL towels and sheets. Direct Tv, American version, so we could still catch our favorite shows. I would stay here again.

Once in a great while do you happen upon an unexpected great place. Such was our find when we stayed eleven nights at Marcia and Dennis’s boat house on Roatan. Other reviews have stated the facts: the rental is as advertised, that Marcia supplies you with great information before you come about where to shop and where to eat, and that Marcia and Dennis make available their contacts throughout the island. What we found not captured in the other reviews is that this is a place of serenity and beauty where you can drop into island time. If you want access to a lot of bars and parties, go to somewhere on the West End; if you want to get away to a peaceful setting, this is it. We have been to several snorkeling places throughout the Caribbean, and this is the place we are the most nostalgic about. And we are not alone; the groups before and after us were returning customers. You can’t beat this. Jim and Donna

First time in Roatan. My boyfriend and I were looking for a quiet location for diving and snorkeling. This was the perfect location. Dennis and Marcia are very gracious hosts. Before I arrived Marcia had sent detailed information regarding Roatan, fun things to do, various attractions, the best places to eat. After we got there we enjoyed snorkeling and kayaking right off the dock, diving during the day, sitting on the deck in the evenings. We stayed for 5 nights and had a SUV rental. I would definitely recommend Castaways Cove if you want to be away from the crowds and have a beautiful view in a well kept boathouse with wonderful hosts and amazing snorkeling and dive sites close by. Stayed February 2014, traveled as a couple

I booked this for a quiet few days before we left from a two week vacation. After 4 days in the west end and 5 days on Utila this is what the doctor ordered. Don't get me wrong we still kayaked to Hole in the Wall, Mcnabbs and Bj's but we didn't do that 1 or 2 in the morning stuff. Dennis and Marcia were great. Dennis even did a load of wash for us. Sunday barbecue at Mcnabbs is fantastic! Can't wait to take my family to this wonderful spot.

The Boathouse is right on the water with kayaks and a jetty you can fish from. It is very clean and comfortable and well-equiped. The terrace is fantastic to relax on. You can kayak through the mangrove canals or out to the reef, tie up and snorkel! Dennis and Marcia live close by and are very helpful if you need advice, tips, Wifi, phone, etc but also leave you alone if you want privacy. We had a car for the 2 weeks we were here and explored the entire island. The Boathouse has 1 bedroom but includes a fold up bed which you can put in the main room if you are travelling with a child.

Just a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the island lifestyle. Warm tradewind breezes and very few bugs to worry about even during the evening. As a matter of fact we slept with the patio doors wide open(no screens) and not once did we get bite by a bug. Try that in Minnesota! The owners Marcia and Dennis are so very nice and really can help you find some great things to do while your on roatan. It is far from the madness of the West Bay area and for us that was what we wanted. There aren't any beaches here really to speak of, but if you have a 4x4(recommend)you can get to one quite easily. If you enjoy trying new things and don't want the all inclusive type caribbean vacation you will love it here, we did!

What a Wonderful Trip!I certainly would love to return and hopefully that time includes a visit with you! Dennis is an excellent host and has all of the information we ever needed to know and more :) Your home and the boathouse are both perfect places to live. What a spot you have! I loved sitting on the deck, kayaking around the bight, gazing at stars in the dark night sky, listening to the water splash against the wall behind the house :) All so soothing and relaxing. We have been churning up thoughts of what it would be like to move there ...in the future. Our only thing that would change in our next visit would be the type car we rented. We had the tiny economical one which didn't really agree with the road system - being dirt in many areas, as you know. Even though, it didn't stop us from exploring the island from the West end to almost the end of the East! Besides the island itself that we so enjoyed, I loved the water! I only learned how to snorkel a few months ago and boy am I glad I did! It is a beautiful world under the sea. Dave even took a scuba diving lesson and went out with a group. I joined them and was able to snorkel with the boat driver, I saw more than the others, too! With so many best things about the island, I think the top one is how safe I felt. Before leaving, I was a bit concerned with this. Yet, not once did I have a worry or a question about something. Everyone was more than friendly and polite. Very nice to experience in a foreign country. Granted, I'm sure there are moments with issues, but overall, our experience was great. I could go on with many more praises, but I loved my visit to your boathouse, meeting and visiting with Dennis (and other local friends too) and getting to know the island of Roatan. It is certainly an island to treasure :). Many Thanks for all of your help leading up to our stay. Your information was referred to often. I hope to be able to return again soon.

Feb. 3, 2013 Marcia & Dennis, It's our last day of a week's vacation at Castaways Cove here. We're trying to list our favorite things about the week and we realize the beauty of the week here was a combination of the great snorkeling, kayaking, lazy mornings reading, watching the sunset, peaceful sleeps, water taxi tour, lunch at Pookies, a wonderful dinner at Gios in French Harbour, the monkey la-la lizard, tours with Ruban around the island, the coral reefs with all the blue tangs, angel fish, pelicans, herons...thank you for your guidance and hospitality...both the boathouse and the villa were great accommodations. We had a great trip. I would definitely recommend visiting Roatan in the off season. Everywhere we went, we had the beach to ourselves! The Boat House was great. It had everything we needed. The snorkeling at the edge of the cove was awesome! Dennis was very helpful. We loved our stay. Make sure you ask for good directions though, or have them arrange a cab for you ahead of time.

Marcia & Dennis are wonderful people to strive to give you the vacation you want. They share a wealth of information about the island, best things to see and do, people to contact etc. The boathouse is clean, well furnished. Weather was great and we spent everyday snorkelling and kayaking, often right in their bay. There was always a variety of coral and fish to be seen, and we lucked out with spotting a manta ray and a turtle as well. The mangrove tunnel is quite an experience, as is the weekend bar-b-que at Pukys. If you want a vacation with real local flavor--this is the place to be. Thanks again !!! Ps - Loved the shrimp dinner!!!

Feb. 12-24 2011 Dennis & Marica Thank you for the wonderful introduction to Roatan! We have utilized the Vrbo website many times now, but have never had such an extensive background on what to expect before even arriving. Once here, we realized how beneficial your preliminary information proved to be. Your guidance was invaluable. We have enjoyed the privacy, peace and serenity of your boathouse. Although the weather could have been better for snorkeling, we enjoyed kayaking and exploring Roatan. We especially appreciate your hospitality and the delicious meal at the end of our stay - - a unique experience for us! You're the greatest - thanks!!!

Castaway Cove could not be a better location with access to land and sea right in the middle of the island. Kayak to some of the quaint little restaurants and enjoy meals that range from a cheese burger to lobster cooked in garlic sauce. Swim or kayak to amazing snorkeling sites with post card perfect vistas. Drive to the touristy side of town and take in shopping or a people-watching walk on the beach. Drive to the, almost deserted side of the island for peace and tranquility and an opportunity to meet the locals and engage in the culture. Or stay home and lounge on the deck, make friends with the dogs and enjoy the wonderful scenery of the ocean that is your backyard, literally. Castaway Cove has it all with options for more! We had a great stay here and would highly recommend this great spot to anyone!

What a great way to end 2010! We are always looking at "secluded, quiet and friendly” places to resource ourselves, away from the "busy” life of Houston... on all fronts, Marcia & Dennis delivered!!! They let us use their kayaks to go explore the beautiful reef & wall by the entrance of the bay - few hundreds yards away. The highlight of our snorkeling trips were the "leopard ray and the squids” waiting for us on the reef on the east side. Marcia & Dennis helped us with stocking groceries, advised us on what to visit and where to go for restaurants and shops, the best spots for snorkeling, arranged for diving. Not only their house was comfortable and well maintained - with a fabulous view on the bay and sunsets - but also they acted to help our short stay to be a success!

Every aspect of this trip was worry free and much more than we expected! The house, location, snorkling, diving, and our hosts Marcia and Dennis were exactly what we needed. The pictures of the house and property do not do it justice! Take Marcia's recommendations for the services and places you may want to see, she will not steer you wrong! Let your inner adventurer come out and play at Caribe Point but I recommend more than a week here. The island, although small, has much to offer! We will be back and stay with Marcia and Dennis again, the resorts can't give you an experience like this! Thank you to our new friends for such a great vacation and life changing memories!

My wife and I spent a week at Castaways Cove in May of 2010. The weather was perfect for our stay and we can't say enough nice things about our hosts and accomodations. First off it was so nice to arrive at the house to a case of ice cold beer waiting for us. Marcia and Dennis went out of their way to make us feel at home. My wife is a dog lover so it was very fun to have the resident dogs come down and spend time with us when we were preparing our food. They were so much fun. Marcia had a suggested list of places to go and visit which was a really helpful. We spent a great deal of time visiting all the suggestions and traveled all over the island. If you are looking for a quite place to stay on the water with just about anything you could want within a quick kayak ride or water taxi, this is your place. Visit one time and I believe you will be back a second or third time. Thanks to Marcia and Dennis the excellent hosts, you will feel right at home and not want to leave.

We spent two glorious weeks in the villa at Castaways Cove for our 30 year anniversary. The bight at Castaways Cove is one of the most beautiful and pristine on the island. The snorkeling is incredible. There is a reef in the bight that you can swim to or take the kayaks to the tiki hut/double deck dock and snorkel (or dive) the reef out to the wall and into the deep blue. Take a lunch and eat on the deck! The sea life is abundant - so much beauty. Indescribable. Bjs restaurant in Oakridge is a must. Also, Hole-in-the-Wall in nearby Jonesville. Castaways Cove owners, Dennis and Marcia are wonderful hosts. They made us feel like family. So kind and helpful. The road is not very good - would recommend a four wheel drive if you want a rental or take a taxi. You can take a water taxi and get around that way too. Which was an adventure in itself. I would highly recommend staying here - in the boat house or the villa. I would also recommend East End Divers for great boating, snorkeling or diving experience.

My husband and I stayed in the 1 bedroom boat house for two months in Fall 2010 and absolutely fell in love with our Honduran home. It has a great big livingroom, comfortable furnishings, a full kitchen and the best part: huge windows and a glorious deck with a view of the quiet and nearly untouched bight. We enjoyed swimming right outside our door, checking out the starfish and conch, and diving off the boat. We took the kayaks out every sunny day and went snorkeling at the mouth of the bight - one of the most beautiful places I've ever snorkeled, and just 5 minutes away! We paddled through the peaceful mangrove canals over to Jonesville for grocery shopping and our favorite bar that you can only get to by boat. We went on a few boat trips to amazing snorkeling spots further east at Port Royal, Pigeon Keys, and Guanaja. The owners Marcia and Dennis live on the property and made our stay there absolutely perfect. It wouldn't have been the same without them. Marcia treated us like family, inviting us to dinner and events, taking us along on shopping trips to town, introducing us to all the locals, and making sure we had everything we needed to live and work in tropical paradise. I suggest getting a 4wd vehicle if you're eager to explore the rest of Roatan, but we did just fine by taking boat taxis to Jonesville and Oak Ridge. They pick you up at your own dock right under the boathouse, and the ride alone is such fun.

What could be better than spending 13 full days on the island of Roatan? It was a well deserved vacation from Canada’s winter and our busy lives. Our highlights were the boat/dive trip out to Pigeon Cay, kayaking thru the mangroves, snorkeling the bay, dive trips with Larry and our days at Parrot Tree & Fantasy Island…all recommended by Marcia. It was great spending family time together in the house. It had everything we needed. We had some relaxing days on the deck reading and laying in the hammock. When we got too hot we made our way down to the water to cool off in the bight. We loved it when our teens used up the internet which gave us a chance to have great chats and laughs as our kids won't be travelling with us much longer. Marcia and Dennis, you have a wonderful spot. We will recommend it to friends back home. Thanks for everything.

I stayed at the boathouse with my boyfriend for the week of Semanta Santa this year and we had the best vacation we've ever had. The boathouse has everything you need to cook your meals, sit on the deck and watch the sunset, snorkel at the end of the dock, scuba dive, kayak and take water taxis to local bars / restaurant. We played cards, read books, bought fish from local fisherman each morning, toured the East end of the island and were able to completely unplug and relax for the week. Marcia was great to communicate with throughout the entire planning process and all of her recommendations and pictures of the house are spot on. We were nervous to go to Roatan during Easter week because we wanted to be away from all the crowds and not be part of the Spring Break crowds of the West End and the boathouse turned out to be the perfect place. We saw 5 other tourists our entire week on the island! Pure paradise! We didn't rent a car and felt that we could get around just fine by booking drivers who Marcia and Dennis were able to recommend. That being said now that we are somewhat familiar with the island we will probably rent a car next time around. We loved our first visit to Roatan and cannot wait to comeback and stay at the boathouse!

It is a very beautiful property right over the water, We enjoyed kayaking in the mangrove tunnels over to hole in the wall bar and snorkeling right under the house, we saw lion fish and jelly fish right under the dock! There is also a Barracuda that visited us each day in front of the house. The only downfall to this property is that it is quite far from west end and west bay were most of the activities are.. If you are looking for a quite relaxing place this is a great option. Beware it's quite a hike up and down the hill! We ran into a bit of a problem while staying and Marcia put us in touch with Lenny who was our savior staying with us and helping us sort out our problem until the very end! A huge thank you for that and one for him as well!!

My partner and I were looking for someplace clean, quiet and secluded, with easy access to the water for snorkeling, diving, kayaking and relaxing. Marcia and Dennis's boathouse exceeded our expectations. It was peaceful and inviting, only steps away from the water and it was easy to arrange transportation to restaurants, attractions, diving spots, etc. Before our arrival, Marcia had sent us detailed information about everything! I really appreciated knowing about the local restaurants, snorkeling spots and some do's and don'ts so that we could respect this beautiful location. We were in the water every day and saw many amazing creatures. Marcia and Dennis were gracious hosts and we really enjoyed their company. We can't wait to go back!

My wife and I traveled to Roatan for three weeks in January. Each week, we stayed in a different location, with Castaway Cove being our final stop. Several weeks before our trip Marcia sent us a note that the boathouse (what we originally reserved) had a conflicting reservation, so they graciously moved us into this villa. Marcia was prepared for us and gave us a couple sheets of sites and contacts for restaurants, dive shops, and water taxis. She checked on on periodically, but not too often to be an interruption. Thanks Marcia!! The pool.... Oh, the pool. They did a GREAT job with the pool. Lovely patio area with a great view of the cove and on into the open water. The villa was nice and cozy. Nothing terribly fancy but perfect for what we needed and, most of all, very relaxing. Being on the east-ish end of the island made it much more quiet and not so touristy. Restaurants: We visited Hole in the Wall (loved it!), Cal's near Parrot Tree (Loved it!), Blue Parrot (not so much). We dove with Reef House Divers and yes, they picked up right at the dock. All good. Highly recommend Castaway Cove. Thanks Marcia & Dennis!
