Casa Hidlins - Jungle Villa Sleeps 6! Waterfalls, Hiking & More, Oh My!

From the base of our mountain, Ojochal is just a 20 minute drive north of Osa Mountain Village/Toucan Valley. Rather than suffer through the hot temperatures at sea level, you can stay at 2,000 ft. in elevation up on our mountain, with temps normally 10-15 degrees cooler. We rarely use A/C up here. Our community can be your home base but you can still easily get to the beaches and everything that Ojochal has to offer.
Two Bedrooms & Two Bathrooms
The Villa Hidlins is one of ?our two bedroom villas in a great location. While the villa is set back from the main road,
it is still only a short walk to the pool?, Club Bar, laundry facilities? and community center.
This two-bedroom loft is capable of accommodating up to six adults, with a queen bedroom on the ground level
and two double beds in the loft area.
This listing has air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout. No pets allowed.
Relax in Nature at our Community Pool & Bar,
Located in the Heart of the Jungle!
A 4x4 vehicle is required for our mountain road. A 'Travel Tips' document will be sent to you once Expedia gives us your contact information. PLEASE READ through this; it includes important directions, various options to get here, and other important information.
Prepare yourself for a ‘different’ kind of … Welcome to Toucan Valley at Osa Mountain Village. Our sustainable resort community is tucked away in the jungle at 2,000 ft. in elevation on the Southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, where you’ll sacrifice none of the quality you’d expect in your accommodations. Surround yourself with primary jungle, secondary jungle and wildlife galore. Without question, the wildlife outnumbers the humans here, and you will most certainly feel privileged to be a guest in ‘their’ jungle home.
Osa Mountain Village appeals to every spirit. Whether your goal is non-stop adventure or undisturbed, tranquil meditation, we’ve got you covered. Monday and Thursday mornings, you can drop off your basket at our community center to enjoy a bounty of fresh, organic veggies and fruits picked by our gardeners that morning. Did you sleep in and forget? No worries, just go to our gardens and help yourself to what you need. Grab some eggs too. . .a fresh veggie omelet is right for any meal of the day.
Now you can sit back, relax, pour a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and enjoy the sounds of nature. With our 750 acres of jungle as your backyard, it doesn’t get any better than this. But consider yourself warned, you will leave a piece of your heart on this mountain. ‘Home’ might not ever be the same. Some folks never go back home, and that’s just fine with us.

We spent two weeks at Osa Mountain Village in a two bedroom Villa. I found the property on Homeaway and booked almost a year in advance but when I booked or whenever I had any questions through the year Patrica was always quick to get back and so helpful. Can't say enough good about how helpful she was before and during our stay. When we arrived the Villa we stayed in was perfect. Very nice and backed onto the Jungle. The value is so amazing I almost hate to share about the place and have it become busier and more expensive :) The village was not very busy when we were there so it was very nice and quiet. It has a beautiful pool that looks out into the valley. One of favorite things was the fresh veggies and fruit growing right on the property that we could help ourselves to. The only thing you do want to be aware of is that you will want a vehicle if you are staying here and it is a bit of a trip out to the closest town. It is 7 KM down the hill to the main road which takes about 20 mins. Then it's another 5-10 mins to Palmar Norte where you can get most everything you need. Also be prepared for a 4 x 4 adventure heading up :) It is also probably about 45 mins to good beaches once you figure in the 20 mins down to the Hwy. As long as you are not looking for a beach destination this place is amazing. We would definitely go back again! I could go on and on about how beautiful it is in the area! We had our two young daughters (3 and 5) with us on this trip and they also loved the village and the countless hours they spent at the pool.

I stayed at OSA Mountain Village for 3 months in 2014 and it really is a little slice of heaven. Nestled into a jungle up on a mountain, the villas are spacious, modern, and are fully equipped with everything you need to have a relaxing stay. We woke up to howler monkeys in the morning and watched toucans fly over head while watching the sunset every night. The staff at the resort are incredibly nice and will help you plan out whatever activities you are looking for. OMV truly is a unique spot with it's gorgeous views, organic gardens, fruit trees, waterfalls, zip line canopy tours, butterfly garden, and there is even a volunteer center on the grounds where people come from all over the world to learn more about sustainability and organic gardening. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica, I highly recommend visiting OMV. It is definitely a place I will be visiting again and again.
