While the look of Tulpa won’t be to everyone’s taste, you have to hand it to whoever the designer is for picking a theme and sticking with it. It’s also worth mentioning that the flat is in a fantastic position – the street runs from the Duomo to Santa Croce, so it’s one of the best places to stay for getting around the city on foot. All in all, it’s solid, and comfortable, and the right person will go mad for those prints. *When we visited, we weren't able to test the wi-fi *The kitchen is a decent size, but doesn't have any windows *One of the bedrooms looks out over the street, so you might be able to hear the noise fo passing traffic Air Conditioning Black-Out Blinds Buzzer / Wireless Intercom Carbon Monoxide Detector Central Heating Dishwasher Dryer Fire Extinguisher Hair Dryer Iron Kitchen Lift Access Microwave Multiple Sets of Keys Rain Shower Smoke Detector TV<b...
A stay in Florence wouldn’t be complete without fine dining and fantastic wines every evening, along with world-class galleries and historical intrigue every day. Speaking of history, this home – just a three-minute walk from the Basilica of Santa Croce – might be of interest to those with a little morbid curiosity. As you arrive at its imposing entrance, it has a gothic look with dark stone facade and a grand front door painted black. Any ideas what it used to be? For centuries, this building was the official residence of the city’s executioners, known as Casa del Boia. However, this modern apartment is now a far cry from its past, offering a fresh and modern vibe in the heart of this ancient city. We love the bright green velvet sofa, glossy black coffee table, and jungle-print wall hanging in the lounge. They might not be the traditional Italian features you’d expect, which is exactly what makes this home so unique. F...

Directly between the Duomo and the Basilica di San Lorenzo, Oak Cask is in a really special position. You’ll have to put up with the tourists outside, but that’s the case everywhere in Florence, and it really shouldn’t cause you to pass up the chance to stay here. On top of the location, we also really liked the terrace – there’s enough furniture on it to eat alfresco, and as it faces west, it’s perfect for long evenings outside. *As is common in Florence, there's no lift in the building, so you'll have to take the stairs *The wall between the main bedroom and the living room doesn't go all the way up to the ceiling, so sound travels between the two *We weren't able to test the wi-fi when we visited *The second bedroom can get a bit dark, and it's too small to have a bedside table or reading light Air Conditioning Black-Out Blinds Buzzer / Wireless Intercom Carbon Monoxide Detector Dishwasher Fi...

Is there any Italian city with more romance than Florence? Within walking distance of the dreamy historic centre, this angular, modern apartment provides a crisp contrast to its setting. There’s a calm colour scheme, lifted by pops of colour, and an open-plan living space that would work perfectly for a family. Based on the ground floor of the building, there’s the bonus of a paved garden (a rarity for such a central location). We can see ourselves enjoying a spot of breakfast alfresco before heading out to discover renaissance delights galore. In the evening, return to the garden for an aperitif and some antipasti before strolling out to explore the local restaurants. *There might be additional fees for late check-ins *This is a single-level property on the ground floor, so could be a good option if you're not a fan of stairs *With a full complement of five people, someone will be sleeping on an additional single bed within ...
