About the property

Our home in Protaras is in a quiet cul-de-sac. Away from the noise of traffic, it is the perfect place to relax and still be within easy walking distance from a number of tavernas, a supermarket or two, and of course the beach. The front veranda is partly covered and is a cool place to sit particularly in the evenings when you can enjoy the cool breeze and have your dinner al-fresco, read a book or play about with your computer. The back garden wall provides privacy and you can lounge about on the sunbeds soaking up the sun.

The whole house is air-conditioned with Wi-Fi and satellite television. There is a guest toilet downstairs and an outdoor shower.

About the Area
Protaras started off as a fishing village and is now a major holiday destination. There are no high-rise blocks here -mainly villas and small apartment buildings. It is the first choice for the holiday homes of the local people because of its proximity to two major cities and the sheer beauty of its golden coastline. Larnaca is half an hour drive away and Nicosia just over one hour by car.

The area is well worth exploring as there are so many scenic spots to discover

Just a few kilometers down the road is the village of Paralimni, where the traditional and the modern coexist in harmony. Here you will find a small but comprehensive shopping area, plenty of traditional tavernas and pubs rubbing shoulders with the old village churches; on the other side of Protaras is the Cape Greco national park – the crystal clear sea hugging its rugged coastline. So perfect for a private swim if you do not mind climbing from the rocks into the deep;
Visit the lovely Sea Caves; the plateau which is only a short uphill walk and has a fantastic view of all the surrounding area; Ayii Anargiri, the little church on the cliffs, climb down some steps and you find yourself in the cave which has the holy waters; St. Elias Church on its own little hill, a nice easy climb in the late afternoon when the sun is not so hot – the view is stunning

There is any number of sandy beaches where you can rent umbrellas and beach beds and find all sorts of water sports including scuba diving lessons. Or if you like to relax quietly, you may find somewhere quiet and secluded.

Plenty of tavernas and pubs serve everything from the traditional dishes and the famous meze as well as the more standard meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes.

Protaras is very close to Ayia Napa so if you want a change you can go to one of the beaches there. If you have kids a day at the water park can be an enjoyable adventure. Or you may fancy some of the many daredevil amusement rides yourself- plenty of those in Ayia Napa! Perhaps you would like to join the touristic crowd for an evening of clubbing - it is all just 15 minutes away.

The town of Larnaca is about 30 minutes away by car - or bus service. Its palm tree-lined coastal road has the beach on one hand and plenty of cafes, pubs, restaurants, and hotels on the other. A lovely place for a stroll in the late afternoon. Larnaca has a nice shopping area and plenty of large supermarkets.
