avatar Charming, well-cared for retreat in the heart of Loreto.

My partner and I had the pleasure of calling this place home for a week in March. We enjoyed the solitude of this quiet compound, the proximity to town (everything you need is within at least fifteen minutes walking time), and the luxury of our own space in a pleasant house. The set-up is quite lovely and tactful, with high ceilings and an open-air, rustic structure. It would provide ample space for a family of four or a few friends, or just you and someone special. The kitchen is well-stocked with all manner of ware - pots, pans, utensils, etc. All was clean and in excellent condition. Beds were comfortable with ample fresh sheets and towels. Sleep with a fan on, lest the mosquitos bite! Michael, the owner of this property, was a great long-distance host. He had answers to my many questions about the town and activities, and his enthusiasm for this incredible area is catching. Thank you for sharing this place, and we hope to return!

Charming property, wit hgreat facilities...my only critiscism is the need for more light in the cooking area!

avatar Cute Cottage - Centrally Located

The house is located in a nice gated compound, centrally located in downtown Loreto. The house has air conditioners that keep the house cool, but the one in the living area is quite loud. The bedroom air conditioners are quiet and with the ceiling fans make it very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked, EXCEPT for a can opener. Had to borrow one from one of the wonderful neighbors. Small snafu when we arrived as the key was not where it should have been, but the property manager was there quickly to remedy the situation. Pool is small, but a nice spot to cool off. Warning: pool chairs are very low to the ground and not the easiest to get in an out of. Also highly recommend having a phone that works in Mexico. After provisioning the house, you can go without renting a car. Although grocery is within walking distance, hard to carry groceries back to the house without a car. Water is another issue to get back to the house. Two 5 gallon bottles are provided to purchase water (which is about four blocks away), but unless you have a car, no way to carry them. Not sure if they deliver the water...forgot to check. Anyway, all in all, this was a wonderful, relaxing vacation. Loreto is an extremely clean, VERY friendly town, filled with little restaurants that make AMAZING food. Highly recommend Orlando's which is 2 short blocks from the house. Staff is very accommodating and the food is scrumptious.

3 blocks from the beach, 2 blocks from the city square, on a quite street with secure parking and entrance, perfect location. Very well equipped kitchen with large fridge but hardly used, too many fine restaurants within walking distance. Used the fans but not the AC, so don't know how it worked. Beds are too hard for most, and need to be upgraded. Very nice private garden patio with access off the kitchen. Property manager Kathy is excellent, came over the day after we arrived and spent an hour answering our questions and making recommendations. Only major complaint is the 3 barking dogs behind the dividing fence that nobody seems to have any control over. But this is typical throughout the town.

avatar Great Location - Very Friendly Locals

This place was great. To be a fair review, I have to add that there are local dogs that run around at all hours of the night barking. We just went and bought earplugs and problem solved. Also, this is technically not a two bedroom. There is one very large bedroom on the bottom floor by the kitchen with a bathroom. The "second" bedroom is in the loft with an open air plan. There is a bathroom up in the loft so no need to come down at night to use the facilities. This place was in an awesome location. Just two blocks to everything you could possibly want and about three blocks to the beach. Kathy, the manager, was an asset. She stopped by to answer any questions we had. We made a suggestion to her that Michael should email directions to the place in Spanish. That way you can just give the directions to the cab driver and there would be no frustration trying to explain it to the cab driver. Not everyone speaks English (but why should they?). But all in all, this place is a definite place I'd stay in again.

avatar Cute casita, great location
Rating: (5) rate
We stayed for 4 nights in June. The casita was clean and located right in the center, 5 min walk from the Mission and tourist shops & restaurants in one direction, and 5 min to the beach and marina in another. There are 9 casitas in the complex but only a couple were occupied and so we had the pool to ourselves the entire time. The complex is secure and gated and easy to drive to. Inside the casita was nicely decorated with everything that you need to cook and prep cocktails. We mostly ate out apart from breakfast as there are many bars and restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this casita. Of note though is given the time of year we chose to go, it was hot!! The casita had air con though and so downstairs was cool but the upstairs area was still pretty toasty. Also recommend taking water shoes as there are nipping crabs in the ocean!!

avatar Wonderful place, fabulous location, tasteful and quality accommodations.

We could walk everywhere in the central town, a wide range of higher end and casual but all delicious restaurants, the waterfront, beaches, salons, a full-service grocery, and even a hardware store! Sparkling clean, very fine bathrooms and mattresses. Furniture very good but needed more reclining chaises/hammock. Lots of flowering trees and bushes, easy to reach lemon trees and a nice pool. Small, gated compound of 8 casitas. Town is completely safe and clean. Very nice people everywhere.
