avatar Perfect place to get away!

We arrived on a Friday and left on Sunday - I only wish we could have stayed longer! The accommodations were better than we even expected. The location is perfect because you are 10-15 minutes from downtown Charlottesville, still very convenient to area wineries and breweries, but still in a beautiful, remote area. We are already excited to plan another trip here! Next time, we plan to bring food to the apartment for lunch as well. They provide great breakfast supplies, and we wish we had spent more time at the apartment rather than out and about. We spoke with the hosts twice, they were very welcoming. They gave us great restaurant recommendations and their dogs are so friendly. This apartment is so cozy and comfortable - I couldn't recommend it more!

Lisa and Keith could not have been nicer or more helpful. Although we do know the area pretty well, their hints of eateries for that particular area were just right. The accommodations were perfect. We were able to control our environment to our liking. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and functional, with lovely wood floors and nice touches throughout. They seem to have considered every detail. Unfortunately, we had to leave a day sooner than we expected. We were so happily settled into the apartment we could have stayed much longer. We will be back!

avatar Very comfortable and wonderful hosts!

I stayed in this very comfortable garage apartment for three months last winter while my house was being built in Crozet. Their property is quiet and beautiful, yet convenient to Rt. 250. Lisa and Keith were wonderful hosts, supplying everything I needed; and they even went out of their way to help me settle into a new community. I woudl highly recommend this to anyone staying a night, or longer like I did!

avatar Lovely people; surprisingly large space.

We stayed here for two week during 2013. I mainly wanted something nicer than a dorm or hotel room so my spouse could get work done while I was at Uva's Rare Book School. This surpassed our expectations. It was spacious, nicely decorated, two bathrooms, a study, and a living room (with a large tv). The wifi worked well, even during a bit storm. The owners's were so friendly (as were their dogs). I needed to have things shipped there in advance, and this was all taken care of for me. It was a bit of a drive from UVa and Charlottesville, but we had a car, so it wasn't an issue. I can't recommend it enough.

avatar Charming Stay!!

We stayed at the apartment last May while in town for a dogshow at Foxfields. The owners were as hospitable as can be and totally at ease with our two dogs being there. The accommodations were beautiful - we felt super comfortable and loved the amenities. We would love to come back! Highly recommend.

avatar Perfect country setting

Have stayed twice a year on trip from Massachusetts to Florida and return several times. Charming way to be away but central. Easy trip to downtown Charlottesville, but stay in a scenic country setting. Bathrooms are 1 and 1/2. Two bedrooms share one bath, and 1/2 bath available for guests without having to go through bedrooms. Any needs required are readily available or can be provided. Backcountry location gives opportunity for long walks in beautiful area. Private entrance does not interfere with owner. Views of mountains extraordinary. Pet friendly for small animals.

The fixtures in this two bedroom, 1.5 bath condo are high-grade: wide wood floor planks, granite kitchen counter tops, and enormous floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the surrounding treetops. The fully stocked kitchen lets you prepare an extravagant meal with ingredients from a Harris Teeter close by. You dog will enjoy running across acres of freshly mowed fields between the house and the rural one-lane road. The plush carpet in the master bedroom is warm under your feet. A large screen in the second bedroom/office lets you connect your laptop or sleep two in a day bed with trundle bed. A fully loaded satellite package is available on the large-screen TV and speakers in the living room. Feel like you're in a treehouse that was plucked from a luxury building on Central Park and gently placed in the safest and quietest corner of Nottingham forest.

avatar Comfy, cozy and country

The perfect spot for appreciating the beauty of the Blue Ridge. Easy to get too, but out of the way enough to have that country retreat feel. As we pulled out the first AM to start our day, we saw a beaver scurrying back to the creek across the lawn! What a thrill for this suburban gal. The apartment is absolutely beautiful. It's obvious they didn't spare expenses when they "re-did" this lovely space. Everything worked, lots of hot water and good water pressure, excellent TV service. Loads of soft thick towels and wash cloths. Bed linens very pretty and comfortable. We even found a cooler in the entry way closet when we decided to picnic one day! The owners are readily available, friendly and non-obtrusive. The dogs are so sweet, but also non-obtrusive (if you're not a dog person). It was plenty of space for my brother and I. Each having a bathroom was perfect. Would sleep up to 4 persons and for a vacation, this would be very comfortable with this many folks. The steps to get up to the apartment would not be easy for an elderly or handicapped person. I think I saw a baby gate, if you are traveling with a young child, but you would definitely need to inquire about that before you stayed here with a baby or toddler. PS if you are driving in this area at night, WATCH FOR DEER.

Lovely rural location - excellent hosts and beautiful accommodation. We enjoyed our week in this apartment very much , it is quiet and peaceful and was a fantastic start to our holiday. The weather was unusually hot but the apartment was just what we needed as the AC was great. The place is very clean and well equipped , I could have done with more saucepans but that's only a minor issue. I would highly recommend Ivy Guest apartment to anyone who wishes to get away from it all
