Villa Del Playa #1

Villa del Playa is a high-end condo complex located between West End and West Bay Beach. Villa del Playa #1 is a ground floor unit with the shared pool at your doorstep and the Caribbean Sea just steps away.

Waking up in Villa del Playa #1 feels like a dream. The master suite opens up to the private patio and shared pool deck, all overlooking the endless horizon. White powder sand and clear turquoise water is your front yard. It is magical!

The two ground floor units are the closest to the shared pool and the beach, making it incredibly easy to start your day with a refreshing swim or to head out on a kayak for a morning paddle.

You can choose to enjoy dining indoors or on the private patio, taking advantage of the fully stocked kitchen and unbeatable views.

If you'd prefer to eat out, a few local restaurants are just feet away on the beach, or walk 5-10 minutes into the heart of West End Village for a wide array of options. You'll also find bars, shops, and activity operators along this mile-long oceanfront street.

With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, Villa del Playa #1 offers the perfect amount of space for two couples or a single family to enjoy an island together.

The unit is spacious and offers indoor entertainment in addition to the obvious outdoor options. Enjoy watching a movie together on the large SMART TV or catch the game back home while enjoying a fresh sea breeze and a cold local beer.

Just in front of Villa del Playa is one of Roatan's most popular dive sites: Blue Channel. It's a fantastic spot for snorkeling – as is that entire stretch of reef just offshore from the beach at Villa del Playa. Head out in the on-site kayaks to explore even more.

You'll love having a waterfront playground on your doorstep.

This was truly one of the most magical places I've visited and Villa del Playa ranks among the best on the island to stay at, not only in terms of the quality of accommodations, but also because of the staff & convenience of being so centrally located right on the beach between West Bay Beach (which is one of the best swimming beaches I've ever had the pleasure of visiting) and West End (which is full of cool shops and restaurants). West Bay & West End are both walking distance, but for $3 you can catch a water taxi as they go by to get to either also. Right next door are restaurants, but it isn't very busy at Villa del Playa either because it's at the very edge of West End. Roatan is the best place to visit if you want something that isn't your typical tourist trap because it's about an equal mix of locals, ex-pats, people that live there part of the year, and tourists. The place just hasn't been commercialized like a lot of places I've been so it's very pristine and natural-feeling. The staff at Villa del Playa was excellent as well. Special thanks to Eldon (who takes care of the maintenance there) for being such a great help the whole time too -- Eldon would always give us helpful tips or cut open fresh coconuts for us to try & it really contributed to our overall experience.

Being able to stay in this amazing condo right on the beach on one of the most gorgeous and peaceful islands I have ever visited is an experience I will treasure forever! The condo was ideal because it was clean and decorated beautifully which made us feel even more comfortable and at home. Having the pool right out our front door was perfect as it was private and a nice alternative to the ocean. The blue channel is directly out from the condo and we could jump in the kayaks provided with access to some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world! We also enjoyed being only a 10 minute walk into West End allowing us to buy fresh fruit daily, eat out if we didn't want to cook, as well as enjoy some fun evening activities. Without a doubt we will visit again!

This is the perfect condo. Right on the beach. Close to everything but quiet. Love it in every way. Highly recommend!

Fantastic location. Close enough to everything yet far enough away to be quiet. We enjoyed unit #1 so much, we wanted to stay forever. The ground floor apartment is wheelchair accessible and I think the new doors to the pool area are very classy. The grounds and infinity pool are kept immaculate every day. We used the grill several times and ate nearly every meal at the table on the terrace. I really liked the water purification system so we didn't have to haul bottled water in. The unit couldn't be more child friendly. Our friends have 3 young children and they had a great time in the pool and on the beach, snorkeling and kayaking. As much as I wanted to be away from it all, I appreciated the WiFi and the TV's so I could keep in touch with the rest of the world. The photos posted on this site need to be updated to show the new interior decoration. I love the local artists' work, especially the metal fish. We found the gallery and bought a fish to bring home as a reminder of our wonderful stay in #1. We'll definitely stay here again.

This place was perfect for us. It is an easy walk to the shops in West End, but far enough away that it was quiet and we had our own private beach. We walked to a dive shop to try out scuba diving and rented snorkel gear for the week from the Marine Park office. Using the free kayaks, we rowed out to the blue channel and tied up to a buoy (named them David Buoy and Buoy Wan Kanobe) every day to go snorkeling. Finished off the nights by walking 1 minute down the beach to the Barefoot Bar for sunset. Caught a water taxi to West Bay and were glad we didn't stay there with all of the tourist madness--although La La has amazing food, including vegan options. Make sure to keep the doors shut to keep out the mosquitoes, and appreciate the geckos in the house that come out at night to eat them--don't stay on Roatan if that idea freaks you out. Very friendly staff and beautiful place!

I love everything about this place! The location is perfect for being able to get a way from it all and still have close proximity to a nearby town. The accomdations were very comfortable and having a private pool while only 4 steps away to your very own beach was more than I could have hoped for! The snorkeling was amazing and the Blue Channel is located directly in front of the property which is where the locals bring the majority of the tourists for the best marine life experiences! The food on the island is remarkable and there is a great little place to eat right in the back yard, and they will gladly cook up your catch of the day!

I had initially been concerned about coming because of some old reviews from 2012 about bad management, but I think either someone must have had it out for a certain person or that the problem has corrected itself somehow because our stay was wonderful; we had an amazing couple of weeks at Villas del Playa. Roatan is so remote compared to other places I have been where you stay in a hotel and are surrounded by people (just like in the normal day-to-day). We felt like we could really get away here and had our own space. It was quiet, yet in a great location to get to West End. The snorkeling was also excellent (and I have snorkeled in many places including Mexico, Hawaii, Bermuda, Grand Cayman, and Belize). The food was also surprisingly wonderful here. It didn't hurt that there is a little restaurant right next door - just in case you don't want to cook while you are in vacation ;) The fishing is also great on the island and so is the zip-lining! We loved how lush and tropical the island was too, you really were able to feel connected to nature. We are definitely feeling relaxed after our phenomenal stay.

This is a high end Apartment, which is rare in West End (the coolest place on the island BTW). Direct beach access, extremely safe and quite. I prefer the bottom units because the pool and ocean are your front door. The Value is really there too. You get a lot of bang for your buck in the ground floor units. The amenities were over the top, from the granite counter tops to the microwave, and The AC. The master bedroom in the front is to die for, Nice Bed. Great for families with children or 2 couples, (or a couple that just doesn't get along LOL) because the place is huge. Conveniently located in the perfect location on the island, right at Blue Channel. Close to restaurants, but far enough from the traffic. I love this place and try to book early because They fill up fast especially during the high season. Maybe I'll see you Christmas week! Lets go Diving!

This is a wonderful place. Quiet and away but close enough to all that West End has to offer. Beautiful beach! Best snorkel and dive spot directly in front of unit - the Blue Channel - it is awesome. We are planning out next stay here again soon!

From start to finish, the whole experience with this place was great. This place is very well tended to, with maintenance there on a daily basis. The night "watchie" was always there (although it feels perfectly safe anyway). Liz from the property management company was there to greet us, and there to see us off. Very clean, modern place...and the location on the beach is every bit as great as the pictures look. Very happy with everything!

The condo was the perfect place for our time in Roatan. Walking distance to all attractions and restaurants helped us to avoid the need for a rental car. We travel very often around Central america and this condo had the absolute best customer service we have ever encountered. From the helpful app, to the check-in process, we were delighted. But, by far the best was the products available in the condo. You never know what you will get when you rent a condo but this one came with everything we needed...all cleaning products, laundry deter, dish soap, sunblock, towels, paper products, chairs, kayaks, a great care package with a six pack of beer and many other helpful items we didn't need to worry about acquiring. The only reason I gave this condo one star fewer than perfect is that they could ramp up security during the day. There is a night guard but several time, we had vendors come right up to our slider bothering us. And, one morning, a very drunk boat driver came three times asking for $$$. One time he even sat on our patio furniture for a while. We weren't really sure what to do about it. Definitely not the owner's fault but day security would have helped. Other than that, it was a great experience on the most beautiful island in the world!

Just out of town enough to enjoy quiet. Very convenient easy walk to town. Nice furnishings and clean. Enjoyed the pool, kayaks, dock and personal service. Very much recommended.

This was the second time we stayed here because for the money, you get the biggest bang for your buck. Lets be honest, Honduras is a third world country without a lot of the simple things we take for granted. Here at Villa Del Playa you get all the thing we are accustomed to and then some. If this were Hawaii, the weekly rate would be the daily rate. You really get a lot of bang for your buck. We were lucky enough to be there during mango season and were able to have fresh mango's every day from out back. The grounds were immaculate and the place was extremely quiet. Bottom line, WE WILL BE BACK! This is our favorite on the entire planet. We can say that with confidence because we have been everywhere.

Found this place through TripAdvisor. Had good ratings, was on the beach, and just a little bit away from West End. Decided to book it and take a chance. Received word from the agency in a very short amount of time confirming our booking. Liz was great in keeping us informed and answering questions as the time for our stay came closer. The day we were to arrive she had checked our flight and found that we had been delayed. She did try to contact me to tell me that the leasing office would already be closed and that she would send a driver to pick us up. We were delayed but not terribly. Didn't know that he was there but he found us. We had rented a car so we just followed him to the property. We actually happened to see her on our way the property and she walked on down to show us around. The stay was great, a little windy (given that Hurricane Earl came through in the middle of the week). The property is well cared for. There is a grounds keeper (Eldon) that works hard to keep everything kept up outside. We had a couple little things that were not working as intended and were corrected very quickly. Honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Selfishly I'd hate for the place to become busy and I not able to get it again. Would I stay here again? Yes, I plan on it. If you book it tell Liz I recommended it! Maybe she will give me a discount :)
