Our beautuful village is the residential location of households of Tay people, being formed many centuries ago.
With simple lifestyle, gentle characteristics, living unity, helping and experiencing ups and downs of the life together, the local people still keep their ancient culture unique. They always preserve and cosset in order the beauty and the sacred not to be lost over time. 100% local people live by crude and pure farming with the low household income.
-Cost: $17 per person/night.
We do not want to change our houses to some luxury hotels or guesthouse, but just traditional homestays. We are encouraged to keep our traditional identities in our daily life to bring you’ our new friends’ a comfortable staying and share meals with homestay’s family in an extremely local atmostphere. Homestay families will help visitors adjust their new life. Visitors can experience exciting new s and family events that they’ve never seen before. After visiting Ta Village regularly and hearing feedback from a number of friends I can say that is I well worth the visit. Stunning landscape of green rice fields, bamboo huts and distant mountains form the landscape along with smiling locals. I would recommend the home stay experience for those who seek an authentic culture experience. It is a chance to have a peaceful and quiet week away from suburbia. To enjoy a slower, quiet pace of life during the time you stay. It is certainly a way to become immersed into a culture and should appeal to people looking for an experience of Vietnamese rural culture.

We returned to this wonderful village recently . Once again the warm Tay people welcomed us into their community and opened there homes to us. The local tour guides really made our trip the wonderful experience that it was , by taking us on fascinating motorbike and trekking tours all over Northern Vietnam. As the first time we stayed, the food was excellent right throughout and it was a very peaceful place to sleep. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We stayed in Thon Tha Vilage for 3 nights and would have stayed for more. The village is located about 20 minutes from ha giang city but it feels a million miles away. A farming village with incredibly warm and friendly local Tay people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and safe. They cook the best food I have ever had and we went on two of the tours the locals offered which were brilliant. 100% recommend a stay in Thon Tha village.

Spent 9 nights with the Tien Family in Thon Tha Village. I wish I could give them 10 stars out of 5. The food the great. The hosts were amazing and friendly. Went trekking with Mr. Tien through the nearby Tay and Dao villages. Coming here gave me an authentic experience of northern Vietnam. I recommend this place without hesitation.

Als onderdeel van een tour van Ethnic Travel hebben we hier 1 nacht geslapen. Samen met de andere gasten die hier verbleven was het echt een hele gezellige avond met heerlijk eten!

We heard about Me and Mrs Thien homestay from a couple of girls who swore it was unlike anything they did their entire trip. We were not disappointed. We've had a great time with the family, and were lucky enough to even participate in a Tay wedding! (Don't worry though, they have a party for just about anything, so you'll probably also get a chance to celebrate , anything from a new buffalo to a baby). Mr Thien was super helpful (I lost a sat phone and he went on a 3 hour search for it), and is a great cook (them spring rolls...). From pictures I've shown people, the place looks just like Sapa ("but greener"), but ha giang isn't a touristy place. In fact, we only saw 4 tourists in our entire time there! (5 days). So if you're looking to see the north, but are put off by Sapa, or just want to stray from the usual path for just a bit, this is the place to go. You won't regret it.

We stayd there for one night after an exhausting trek! We really loved it: +The view from the house was so nice +the food that they cooked for dinner and breakfast was delicious +we could interact a lot with our hosts who was a lovely couple. We really had a night we won't forget +it was really clean and we had surprisingly good wifi I believe that if you want to discover this beautiful Ha Giang province, staying there derictly once you arrive from Hanoi is the best option. It is so much more welcoming than the City of Ha Giang. I am sure they can help you organize a trek and find a driver to help you discover the region!

About 5 kms out of Ha Giang township we found Ha Giang Homestay. Some better signposting would identify the place better. We stopped to ask direction from some locals who were gathered near the entrance, where one gentleman who turned out to be the owner, Mr Thien, guided us to his home. We where introduced to his wife and where warmly welcomed to their home. Situated opposite the rice paddies we quickly settled in and relaxed with a beer and great conversation. The Thiens were very hospitable and organised a beautiful dinner promptly with further conversation until it was time to sleep. A great breakfast meal was offered next morning with Mr Thien helping me to repair a flat tyre at a local mechanics. Highly recommend a stay here with our wonderful hosts Mr & Mrs Thien.....Chuc May Mon.

My boyfriend and I traveled to Ha Giang, and coincidentally found this amazing Tea House. We were taken on multiple tours around the scenic rice patty field mountains, we had a picnic near a waterfall, met some local ethnic tribes and helped them pick tea ( which we later drank together in their beautiful traditional wooden cottage). At night we all made dinner together at the tea house and sat around exchanging stories and creating friendships with San and his other charming staff. We traveled around Vietnam for nearly five months but i must admit that this experience was the cherry on top of everything else we had seen in Vietnam. Ha Giang province is beautiful and the hospitality and kindness we found at this tea house was priceless. Thank you so much San and everyone else! We hope to come again.
