The Barn at Gortree, Drumahoe gateway to Derry/Londonderry

This 18th century agricultural barn was the first dwelling on the site. The Antrim style barn was a synergy of animals in the lower level heating the occupants above. It was used as a farm building until 1994 when the current owners renovated the property. The countryside at Gortree, Drumahoe is stunning. The property is situated near the Faughan Valley with its soft rolling countryside
The.Barn is ideally situated to enjoy scenic drives to areas of beauty in Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland. A 5 minute drive will take you to Drumahoe with access to shops. It is a 10 minute drive to the Peace Bridge and on to the town centre of Derry. The outstanding Antrim Coast is 30 minutes by car, Fermanagh Lakelands one hour and Donegal is a twenty minute drive.
The accommodation is spacious and bright with a southern aspect and has everything you need for a relaxing break.

The Barn is far enough outside of the city proper to have a rural feel, but is only a four or five minute drive away. The host was great, offering some really amazing amenities and snacks. It was a great little place to stay for a few nights while I visited the Halloween celebrations happening nearby.
